I like how when fixing Caladbolg you have to enter the visions to confront the previous wielders to prove yourself to the sword, so you end up with Riannoc and Trahearne.... and skip over Waine, who ironically wielded the sword longer than anyone else. I do understand why, but it is just kind of funny.
I like the idea of Caladbolg having a bit of personality (which I guess it does), and it just chooses not to acknowledge him despite having spent most of its life in his possession. 'What could you hope to prove with my memory of that loser,' says Caladbolg, 'screw that guy'. It's like a cat; it purrs and hums when it recalls Riannoc and Trahearne and hisses when it thinks of Waine.
foci are top tier weapons in gw2 bc they get the best unconventional skins. a sword is a sword no matter how u slice it not many ways to deviate from the base design. but a FOCUS? u can use Anything as a focus. one thing to get ur ass kicked by a guy with a sword another thing entirely to be clocked by a tambourine. embarrassing for u
