Not only did Lucinda work at Pippin Portions, she also made her own. She didn’t realize how good she was at it until leaving Hogwarts regardless of her marks. She just knew she liked it. While trying to decide on her Quidditch career, working with potions was naturally where she gravitated.
Potions meant ingredients. Sure the store had them but being outdoors in the fresh air was invigorating and there was nothing better than finding your own. She felt more attached to them that way. What surprised her was seeing someone else in the brisk air.
Lucinda watched her picking up twigs and tossing them to the side. She wondered what she was doing. Making potions of her own, perhaps, but she didn’t recognize her from the circle of potioneers she knew.
When the woman spoke and turned around, Lucinda also looked around unsure of who she was talking to. “I just got out here so I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere but,” she looked around again. “Were you expecting someone?”

Sybill popped up immediately from sorting through sticks with a small yelp of surprise. “Oh, Merlin!” a hand went over her mouth, “Excuse me-- I thought I’ve been alone for the last few minutes. Well, except for my keeper.” She motioned a ways behind her where an Order member leaned against a tree trunk. Nobody enjoyed having to babysit Sybill whenever she went off on a Divination excursion.
“These twigs are shite, so if you’re looking to attempt some good ‘ol Xylomancy, I’m afraid you won’t have much luck here. There is a forest in New Zealand that has an abundance of sticks full of future telling omens.” Sybill slipped through her beaten up journal to find her notes about New Zealand. She tucked her curly, dark hair behind her ear as she hummed to herself. “You don’t have the Inner Eye though..” Sybill looked up to the red head, “What brings you out here?”

It could’ve been considered a hobby at this point, Alice often taking shifts to watch Sybill when she could, always finding that she learned a bit from the other every time they interacted. In school Divination was one of Alice’s favorite subjects, even though she never needed it for her NEWTS. Spending time with Sybill became a nice reprieve, it reminded her of her Hogwarts days a bit, the greenery reminding her of the old campus she used to explore. “Why do you say that? There’s a bunch of fine twigs around,” she commented, bringing the bundle she had collected to Sybill. “I could stand to be in the forest a little longer. The lush green’ll do us both good.”
Tumblr media
Sybill enjoyed when Alice had questions about Divination, she enjoyed teaching and Alice was an excellent student. She knelt down to the forest floor and shook her head as she rolled twigs around in her hands, “The point of Xylomancy is to draw omens from them and none of these are saying much...” Sybill sighed as she stood, “the twigs also are supposed to have fallen from the trees naturally, most of these were sadly pulled by bored hikers.” Sybill offered a smile to Alice, feeling horrible she had pulled her out this far into the woods for nothing. “I suppose a walk would be nice-- I’m to go with Alastor tomorrow night and I’m afraid he’s not much a fan of the outdoors. Or me for all that matters...”

Wanting something so terribly brought out Astrid’s already tough demeanor. She wasn’t known for her friendliness or caring sensibilities, but wanting those drugs had taken over those characteristics. All she could think about were drugs.
Klonopin, pot, heroin, percocet, PCP — all of it. All of it.
St. Mungo’s had everything, whether they had to confiscate it or use it for medical purposes. It was a sure bet to fill her bag with infinite space. Astrid already enjoyed having it all but this was something completely different. The greed had taken over so much that she could hardly see two steps in front of her.
When approached by the insignificant Sybill Trelawney, Astrid choked back a snarl. She just wanted to get to the stash. She didn’t care about what the patients needed and whether they were upset or not, something completely out of the ordinary.
“You’re either going to help me get what I need or you’re moving.” Astrid leaned in and looked at Sybill’s big eyes remembering the woman knew divination. She could be of use. “Join me,” she shook the brunette. “Join me and I’ll — I’ll, make it worth your while.”
Tumblr media
Sybill held her ground in front of Astrid, trying to give the nurses some time to lock things up if need be. “I think you might be having a reaction to something, why don’t be sit down, Astrid? I can brew a hot cuppa tea and we can work this all out and compromise.” Sybill attempted a small smile at least until the other started to shake her.
Sybill’s hand wrapped around one of Astrid’s wrists to gently push her away, “Astrid, what’s gotten into you?” Sybill’s brows furrowed as she tried to look the other woman over. Some people had all the sudden begun to act very strange, and Sybill was beginning to think Astrid had caught whatever they had.

fenrir-gb·:
They didn’t usually have visitors this close to the den. After a full moon, when senses and emotions were intensified, so was his natural instinct. He didn’t need to track her, not like the animals who were a lot more stealthy and quiet. Humans bounded around, leaving a loud echo of noise and a trail of footprints where ever they went. Hell, a pup would be able to track one down.
Tumblr media
Despite feeling territorial and extremely sore, Fenrir was also curious. What brought a young girl out to his woods all alone? It was like a fairytale.
“Headed to Grandma’s house then, are we?” he growled from someplace in the bushes from where he was hiding. Seconds later, and moving faster than humanly possible, he was right behind her.
Fenrir took a loud sniff into the girl’s hair, nearly pressing his nose into the back of her neck. It didn’t phase him that she’d known he was here. Wizards were sometimes tricky like that.
“Day’s not over yet sweetheart.”
Sybill stopped in her tracks at deep voice behind her. She looked back for the Order member that’d been watching her for the day, but they were nowhere insight-- trusting Sybill was a capable adult who could hopefully stay out of trouble. When the source of the voice rushed closer to her, Sybill’s long, dark hair was blown over her shoulder in the wind. Her fists clenched tightly, too stunned to be able to reach for her wand that stuck out from her boot.
“I think I should return now-- clearly I’ve tread into unknown territory.” She swallowed thickly, remaining completely still as to not set off whoever was behind her. “I was only looking for some twigs, I’ll be on my way...”

Several Order members had to go to St. Mungo’s for various business, so Sybill found it was the one place she could go to help the war effort without having to drag someone out to keep an eye on her safety. That evening, she was offering friendly conversation with a woman who was victim of an attack in London for being muggleborn. If there was anything Sybill could do, it was to provide a sense of calm and safety.
Out of nowhere, a loud commotion begun at the door. Sybill immediately shot up to let the curiosity get the best of her. She saw Astrid getting upset and yelling at the staff as well as any Order members in the vicinity. “I think you might want to calm down-- you’re upsetting some people inside.”
Tumblr media
With the dragons she had seen growing up, Astrid was familiar with their tendency to collect which depended on the dragon. Each had their own personality and inclinations. There were hoards of gold, books, discarded metal — it was endless. These belongings gave her beloved dragons something tangible to be proud of. But go near them and it was obvious how quickly it was for them to protect something so usually mundane to the everyday person.
Their hoards.
A powerful hoards.
The moment came when something unknown filled the air. Astrid had always been guilty of sinning but wanting a large hoard of her own was something she craved. She wanted to be a dragon, breathing fire down anyone’s throat who dared come near her. Though in her case, bleeding them dry would be preferable and useful.
Stockpiles of drugs. Astrid beelined to place of employment: St. Mungo’s. However, she was met with a blundering crowd she couldn’t get through. At the top of her voice she bellowed, “Get the fuck out of my way you bloody, good for nothing shit bags!”
No sooner was she approached, no doubt to be reprimanded. “You don’t want to stand in my way, hero.”

Keeping watch over Sybill wasn’t exactly Marlene’s favourite part about being in the Order. Though admittedly Divination could be interesting at times, for the most part it wasn’t something that appealed to her. Still, they all had to play their part and take turns, and so she did so without complaint. Besides, it wasn’t so bad getting to sit in the forest for a bit. It was relaxing really, or at least as relaxing as it could be considering she had to be on alert for any Death Eaters.
Thankfully the only others they had encountered in the forest were the animals. Marlene was just watching a small rabbit family playing when Sybill’s voice caught her attention, and she looked round. “You sure?” She didn’t want the older woman to feel like she had to stop. “We can stay longer, if you want.”
Tumblr media
Sybill felt bad making Order members parade behind her whenever she wanted to go anywhere. She knew they could be doing something much better with their time, they deserved to be doing better work than babysitting. At least she enjoyed Marlene’s company though-- other’s were completely blunt in their dislike of being her security, and some talked far too much. Marlene was nice though, she was probably one of Sybill’s favorites.
“No, no...” Sybill sighed with a shake of her head, “None of these have the potential of forming omens-- I’m afraid this forest is useless.” She didn’t want to drag Marlene along to somewhere else, especially when she knew a forest in New Zealand was full of prophetic sticks. “We can head back now-- I understand you’ve got other things to do.”

Sybill was out in the forest collecting twigs, scowling at ones that didn’t perfectly meet her standards. Ever since she’d been locked up -for her protection- and bouncing around from Order member to Order member, she was trying new forms of Divination in attempt to further the senses of her Inner Eye. Because of her prophecy about the fall of Voldemort, Sybill was now in extreme danger and had to always be under the careful eye of a member of the Order. She went wherever they went and vice versa. This time she was trying to practice Xylomancy, but none of the twigs were speaking to her.
“I think we should just call it a day.” Sybill frowned and turned back to the person who’d been following her.

Nathaniel Trelawney idolized his great-grandmother more than anyone else in the world. Ever since Cassandra Trelawney became legendary for possessing the Inner Eye, her descendants hoped and prayed to Merlin that a child would hold her gift. Cassandra’s great-grandson was the closest to ever come to it. Nathaniel felt himself begin to fall into deep trances, but they never came. It was only ever a tingling feeling that he felt in his fingers, and never anything more. Throughout his time at Hogwarts though, Nathaniel would trick his classmates into thinking he had the gifts like his Seer great-grandmother. He was an intelligent, witty little Ravenclaw who had ought to be sorted into Slytherin for the love he had of tricking people with his cunning pranks. When Cassandra learned of her great-grandson putting false ideas into people’s minds, she struck him with a curse so powerful that any possible Seer abilities he had were then completely gone. Cassandra died soon after as her rage and the amount of magic she’d used for the curse completely exhausted her. Nathaniel was frightened and embarrassed, so he ran away from home and eventually ended up in Mexico where he met Elena Calderon-Boot in 1953. One year after meeting, Nathaniel and Elena gave birth to Sybill Trelawney.
Sybill’s family origins were kept a great secret from her for most of her young, adolescent life. Nathaniel never told her about Cassandra, as he was still struck with fear that what happened to him would happen to Sybill. Elena Calderon-Boot was the squib descendant of Ilvermorny founder Chadwick Boot and his wife Josefina Calderon, but Elena wanted to leave that life behind and start new with Nathaniel and Sybill in Scotland as a wizard-born muggle. When Sybill turned about ten years old, she felt the same tinglings in her fingers that Nathaniel did when he was young– except for the fact that Sybill fell into deep trances of visions about the future. In the middle of the night, a fourteen year old Sybill got a vision of her mother dying in a horrific accident. She woke up her parents and told them what she saw and Nathaniel knew exactly what was happening to her. He couldn’t understand why it was her and not him– because of this, Nathaniel came to resent his young daughter.
Two days after Sybill saw the vision of her mother’s death, she received a letter at Hogwarts saying her mother was killed in an accident on her way to work. Sybill begged her father to help her understand her gift, but Nathaniel shut her out and fled after Elena’s funeral. Sybill was never able to get in contact with her father, and was forced to stay at Hogwarts during holiday vacations.
After graduation, Sybill tried desperately to find a job but nothing seemed to fit– she especially had her eyes on teaching Divination at Hogwarts. The school was her permanent home, and Sybill dreaded graduation when she’d have to leave it. Dumbledore did not want to continue to practice at the school, and he didn’t want to tell Sybill it was because her abilities were not well enough developed. That changed when Sybill intrigued Albus by making a prophecy about Voldemort’s defeat. A Death Eater had been eavesdropping on Sybill which has now put her in great danger of being attacked by the Dark Lord and his followers. Sybill has been put in extreme protection under the members of the Order of the Phoenix– including not being able to travel outside by herself.

Take Me To Church by Hozier except he’s practicing it alone in the front of an empty cathedral, while you watch, hidden, from far behind the pews. He’s at least physically alone, because when you search for the source of the backing vocals, you see no one else.
