"I'm home!" you heard your boyfriend call as he stepped into the trailer, and you coughed into your elbow as you heard his footsteps. "Baby? Where are you?"

"In here," you called weakly, and the door to the small bedroom opened up to show your Tom, still wearing his uniform shirt and shorts, standing there and watching you. You sat up a bit to greet him, sniffling, and Tom frowned.

"What's wrong?" Tom asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed, and he reached out for you and took your ankle in his grasp, and he gently pulled you to him, kissing your ankle gently as you cleared your throat.

"M'feeling sick," you mumbled. You had put on his sweatshirt when you woke up, and you tugged the hood over your head as you added, "Woke up with a lump in my throat, and now I can't stop coughing and it hurts."

"Baby," Tom pouted, and he put his hand up to your face, pressing his fingers to your forehead. "Yeah, you've got a temperature. I think I have some cough medicine around here somewhere, stay here. And, erm, give me that cup over there, I'll get you some water."

"I don't want anymore water," you sniffled, and Tom nodded slowly. "I've been drinking water all day."

"I'll make you a cuppa, how about that?" he asked. "Just something to wash down the medicine, it's cherry flavored, I think."

"Okay," you mumbled. "I like your tea."

"You're so sweet," Tom whispered, and he leaned forward and kissed your warm forehead as he smoothed his hand down your hooded head. "Have you slept much?"

"When I lay back, I can't breathe through my nose," you told him, and Tom carried the little blue plastic cup back to the small kitchen area, and he started to fill his kettle from the sink faucet.

"Prop up a few pillows," he called over the running water, and he turned off the water once his kettle was full. "I want you to sleep a little. It'll help you feel better. I'll go to the store tomorrow and get you something different to drink... Some orange juice or something..."

Once he put his kettle on, Tom came back to the bed, and he laid down next to you and cuddled you all up n his warm arms. Even despite the sweatshirt and blankets, you were shivering and sweating from your fever, and you welcomed your boyfriend's strong arms around your middle as he nosed at your neck. "I'll take care of you," he said. "Gotta get you all well and everything."

"I love you," you whispered, and Tom rubbed your back soothingly as he kissed your forehead again.

"I love you too."
