This is definitely a Jewish belief. I have only ever heard Israelis say this when they want to say their numbers are small because they never made conquest. I guess that may be true, but it also may be that it is actually quite difficult to convert to Judaism, whereas it is easier to convert to Islam/Christianity. What sort of a religion discriminates based on ethnicity?? So you can be born into something, which is not a conscious choice at all, and negates any ideation of free will, but if you saw the light and wanted to change path, Judaism makes it exceptionally difficult to do so. Anyways, like someone says in the replies, it’s a Jewish belief and I am certain that OP may be Israeli because they didn’t wait a second to convert this idea to Islam.

Imo religions are static belief systems. Religions are not bad, but people certainly are.
