If you won't participate in the wider boycotts (which you SHOULD), literally 3 corporations is not that hard.
Cancel your disney+ subscription, stop buying mcdonald's, stop buying burger king, stop buying starbucks, i am so serious
I boycott mcdonald's despite it being just about my number one favorite food, despite being a picky eater, despite having depression and therefore a hard time making meals. If i can, so can you, there is absolutely no excuse
And pirate disney+ stuff, it is so easy, especially cartoons. You will find places to watch things if you look, i Promise you, just cancel your fucking subscription

read the manga now! woah i loved it
being yukio okumura must be a lonely nightmare
OK disclaimer to start: I've only watched the anime, not read the manga, so if this comes up in the manga forgive me for I do not know (also no spoilers please <3 I'm picking it up soon) HOWEVER
Yukio being so young and yet an exorcist must be the most gutwrenchingly lonely experience, like... going through his different positions with his three core social groups;
As an exorcist: He has his coworkers, but they're all adults. He's a 16 year old boy. As much as they include him, respect him, acknowledge his experience and skill, there's always going to be the part of them as grown ass adults that sees him as a 16 year old. That gap will always be there, and it'll probably also manifest itself Yukio being excluded from some general parts of adult life, and probably looked down upon, even subconsciously by those who do respect them. He'll always be the "little brother" friend. It's no wonder Yukio isn't very social. What is he going to do, watch all the adults slowly get drunk at a work party? Whoo. (Sure, Shura would probably give him a beer, and I'm sure the others would be willing to look the other way, but Yukio himself probably wouldn't take it.)
Not only that, but he doesn't have the same liberty as other teenagers his age to be dumb teenagers. If Rin or Shima or whoever else messes up- okay, impulsive, but they have the grace of being in training. Yukio, on the other hand, has to be professional. He has to act older than his age, or it's proof that he's not ready to be where he's at. It must be so frustrating whenever he works with a new exorcist- "Yes, I'm young for my position. No, that won't make me more difficult to work with. No, I don't need you to explain this concept to me, I already understand it, I graduated too-"
As a teacher: He has his students, all the same age as him. Hell, even if they have issues, Rin is his brother. But there's a power dynamic in the fact that he is their teacher and they are his students. There's also a duty Yukio has as the more experienced exorcist and their teacher to look after their safety, especially on field trips and the like. When they're fooling around in class, he has to be the killjoy who brings them back around on topic, and this isn't some math class they'll forget as soon as they graduate; he's teaching them information their lives are going to depend on.
It's also pretty hard to maintain a friendship with the same people you gave detention last week, or that you had to fail on a test.
As a student: Yukio also attends classes at True Cross that aren't at all related to exorcism, but I feel like even there he'd struggle connecting with his peers. Yukio's busy with teaching and exorcisms; that's a lot of time. Then his homework and classes- where exactly is he left to fit in a social life?
The anime suggests he's popular for girls to crush on. but being the crush of someone you barely know in high school isn't a friendship. Yukio seems like he'd be the typical introverted kid who goes mostly unnoticed. Even if he makes friends, what happens when he's had one too many last minute call ins for exorcisms, and has to ditch yet another hangout? How many medical leaves does he have to take in such an injury-prone job, not to mention mental health? It'd be easy to gain a reputation as a flaky and uninterested friend.
Then there's the issue of adjusting to a 'normal' life. How does one do that? How do you sit there and listen to your friends talk about homework and video games and whatever else they did last night, meanwhile what you did last night was risk your life slaying a demon, but if you even tried to tell them, you'd sound insane because most people in this world don't know demons are real at all. Not to mention he couldn't talk about his teaching job, either. Oh, also, "how was your vacation?" "My biological dad who is also Satan killed my adoptive dad who was an exorcist". To a teenager, it must feel impossible to find a way to relate regardless.
I think this has overall been a pretty sad post. I do think as Yukio grows up, he'll find his place. Once Rin and the others graduate, the wall of teacher-student between them will also be removed, though he'll still probably outrank them, at least for a while. As he grows up, too, the age gap between him and his peers will lessen, and he'll gain new coworkers who've only know him as an adult.
It will get better, just takes time.

you know what sure here you go i'm tired and not really sure where this is going to go but i'm gonna go off anyway... he/they pronouns used for nahyuta here.
so. obviously in Khura'in they've got the whole Defense Culpability Act thing going on, a method for the government to control the justice system framed to look like it was for the good of the people, by making out defense attorneys to be defenders of evil and crime rather than defenders of everyone's right to a fair trial. and any harm the law does can be excused with, "well, if a defense attorney knows someone is guilty, then that's their bad for trying to help them get away with it."
meanwhile, there's Ga'ran, who appears very stately and kind, but is actually a monster who would kill and manipulate her own family for power.
a lot of things look really nice, but aren't.
and on the flip side, think of how Dhurke is first introduced to us, the image of him that we see. this one right here:
Tumblr media
it's designed to make Dhurke look like a bad guy. He's in the shadows with a glowing red eye, and to me the way he's holding his hand out comes off as possessive, like he's trying to hold the viewer in the palm of his hand. we can't really see his face, so he just looks like an intimidating dude.
then we get to know him, and he's actually a pretty friendly guy whose "intimidating" appearance (scars, eyepatch, etc.) have been used to make him look "scary", which is flat out scummy, because, duh, people's appearances have no actual bearing on moral qualities. but we once again see this correlation with conventionally "beautiful" and calming images hiding something nasty, and images like Dhurke here being misrepresented to trick people. Dhurke loves his wife, his kids, Datz, his country, and is concerned with seeing justice served. he's never once given up on Nahyuta.
now, onto Nahyuta. what they have internalized here is how much appearances matter. someone like Ga'ran can get away with the worst of things by seeming kind. for Nahyuta, however, this isn't so much about getting people to do what he wants so much as it is about protection. let's take a look at Nahyuta here;
Tumblr media
Everything about this outfit is neatly put together and downright ethereal. while I wish capcom had gone with a darker skin tone here, and genuinely think it would've contrasted much more nicely with his light clothing, I'm going to put that gripe aside and focus solely on the clothing and hair themselves.
Their expression, to begin with. They very carefully hold a soft, at peace expression. And their hair; look at the end of the braid. Perfectly even cut at the bottom. The outfit itself looks quite expensive and well made. His scarf flutters around defying gravity, and he's very carefully covered up his Defiant Dragons tattoo with a magatama-covered glove, and if I recall correctly, a spider, Ga'ran's symbol, has covered the
Everything about Nahyuta Sahdmadhi's appearance is designed to take the focus off the thing that follows him around in the minds of the people of Khura'in: the Sahdmadhi name.
He carries himself like a perfect monk, because he cannot afford to be anything less.
But when he talks, that's when we start to see the pent up frustration coming out. Particularly when he starts losing, especially to Blackquill. Blackquill pushes all their buttons, and doesn't give a single damn about their appearance. That's one of many reasons Blackquill manages to ruffle Nahyuta's feathers so much.
But, as stated before, Nahyuta needs to be perfect. He needs to be stately and wise and a religious figurehead, or else he will be nothing but a Sahdmadhi, a rebel, his father's son, unworthy by nature of their birth of everything they worked so hard for.
Nahyuta tries so hard to look like the perfect, at peace monk but then he opens his mouth.

Thinking of the traveller's voice lines, namely the part where he asks if it's really wise to place all your power in one moment's ambition. This ties into what the Inazuma plotline established; if a person's Vision is revoked, with it, that ambition is revoked, typically leaving a person broken, barring whatever energy Itto has that let him be an exception.
I wonder. If something were to happen to the Vision-holders, bearing in mind most world authorities at this point are Vision-bearers... imagine Mondstadt if Jean, Barbara, Diluc, Kaeya, Eula, Albedo, Amber and Rosaria and anyone else I'm forgetting lost all will to continue with their roles. (I know I've left out certain characters, but I tried to focus on those who were in leadership positions).
Or Liyue without Ningguang, Keqing, Ganyu, Xiao or Yelan? (Again, leaving out characters who are not in positions of leadership).
Inazuma without Ayato, Ayaka, Kokomi, Gorou, Kujou Sara...
Sumeru, no Al-Haitham, Cyno, Dehya...
Fontaine without Clorinde, Wriothesley, Navia or Chevreuse...
And I'm not talking about them slowly being replaced. I'm talking about all of them disappearing at once. Some nations might be better off than others, like Fontaine having Neuvillette, Sumeru Nahida, and Inazuma, Ei.
If push really came to shove, Zhongli and Venti would still be there.
And there are many non-Vision wielding NPCs in government who surely do important things off screen.
But still. It does really feel like Celestia is hoarding important world players, much like a dragon hoarding its wealth...

No thoughts head empty, just loving the way Ace Attorney lawyers casually break the law. No, actually, I love it, unironically, hear me out.
So the first major incident of a lawyer breaking the law to get the upper hand in court would be Miles updating the autopsy report. Everyone knows he did it. I'm sure many of us have seen real lawyers reacting to that scene, and getting shocked at how much they just Cannot Do That.
And I like that because it shows us what it looks like when someone misuses the law to their own gain. Phoenix still manages to overcome it, of course, but still.
We get the sense of injustice at our opponents using dirty tactics to gain an unfair advantage, which usually makes blowing this unfair advantage out of the water all the more satisfying.
However, we're also no exception to breaking the law ourselves in the game, when it's for our client's sake. Most notably, that would be Phoenix giving Miles his badge so he can impersonate him in court. They even go so far as to get Franziska and an unknowing judge involved to cover it, so the game very much makes a point out of the fact that they should not be allowed to do that.
But it's putting morality OVER the law. Again and again we see Ace Attorney games where the law does not serve justice. I mean, every client we have is a person who was wrongly arrested... most. every client we have, actually.
Ace Attorney is a world where justice is the priority, and if the law will not serve justice, the game has no problem letting it slide when characters break it, because following the law to the letter means nothing if it gets people hurt. The law is black and white, but morality is more nuanced than that.
This is turned up to 10 in Spirit of Justice, where instead of a legal system that is good but full of exploitable loopholes and cruel objectivity, we face off against a law that is subject to the whims of one woman, who uses it as nothing more than a means by which to keep her power alive, falsely executing countless people in the process, keeping her own sister hostage, etc., etc..
And in the final trial, when you respond to everything she has done with logic and reason, she throws the law back at you, changing and rewriting it at every turn when she might otherwise lose.
The only thing you can do?
Prove that she had no legitimacy to do so in the first place. Undermine every law she has put in the book. Undermine the law itself, in the spirit of justice.
All in all, it was a very satisfying end to the franchise. I think that having Phoenix be our Mia in the last case was also the best ending for him, because we see him truly graduate from a fledgling attorney himself to a mentor. Everything comes full circle very neatly.

Did you know, historically, the Irish weren't considered "white people"? This was because they'd been colonized by England. This same anti-Irish sentiment was once common in America.
When the Irish Americans gained "white" status, many became racists, and Irish who never left Ireland began to feel Irish Americans had forgotten where they came from when they got white privilege. This is why it falls so flat to me when my fellow Irish Americans say, "My ancestors weren't slave owners, they were oppressed".
Sure! But we're not anymore. Things have changed, and we now benefit from the oppression of other ethnic groups who remain minorities.
Zionists are doing the same thing now. They've gotten white privilege, and are forgetting the oppression they came from in favor of becoming the oppressor.
We see this same disappoint the Irish had/have in Irish Americans in other Jewish people, particularly Holocaust survivors, who have called out Zionists.
History is repeating itself here.

The hospitals here is so poor and bad and the quality of her treatment is getting worse and worse because the quality of the hospitals is bad, because of the conditions of the war. instead of continuously over-donating to ao3 when those running the site are racist zionist sympathisers who shut down support of palestine from its volunteers 1 / 2 (among myriad other issues that u should NOT be funding) please direct your attention to these incomplete fundraisers for people in gaza and various tangible operations doing work. this is a call that if u have donated even a cent to ao3 to a) match that in your donations to palestinians/causes and b) stop donating so uncritically and unconditionally to ao3, pressure them. id like to direct u to @end-otw-racism
