Good! You should be.
I’ve got a good feeling about this summer.
No. I am too.

I... don’t know?
I suppose I just automatically assume most people don’t look forward to summer activities.
Why’s it a surprise?

I think I signed up for choir this year. Maybe it’s an activity we’ll have together?
Not at all! I’m super excited! I really want to be in Choir this summer!

You trust my senses that much?
Aw, shucks, Lyle.
Neutral’s good – Neutral’s definitely good too.
Well, I trust your senses just as much as I trust mine.

That’s... something of a surprise.
But a good one! I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s looking forward to it. It wasn’t so bad last year.
I don’t think so… I’m kinda looking forward to it this year too.

I don’t think I’m either a pessimist or an optimist. I’m...
Neutral. I’m neutral. But really excited for some reason. I’ve got good senses about these things.
To some people, maybe, but they’re usually the more pessimistic ones.
[ Smiles. ] I think we’ve got a lot to look forward to this time around, actually.

Why not? Do you have centaur trauma? [He’s asking out of pure curiosity, not to be trite whatsoever, but he blinks again once Trix takes in a fistful of his hair. It’s not what he’s expecting to hear, and it shows on his face from the unintentional “puppy dog” eyes he gives her before he pouts, brows knitting together.] No, I don’t want you to do it for me. I don’t want to cut my hair. Is it bothering you that much? [He tries not to sound as hurt as he feels, but it’s difficult.]
Don’t talk to me ‘bout centaurs. **Instead of acknowledging his jab at Max and Lyle (because he already knows she wholeheartedly agrees), Trix reaches for a fistful of Nate’s hair.** Your fucking hair. It’s disgusting. You need to cut this shit. Do you want me to do it for you? I’ve got scissors in here somewhere…

I don’t... necessarily care if it’s a trend. Or if I get made fun of, really. I like it. I think that’s all that matters, isn’t it?
“You gonna start a fashion trend? Might catch on. Or you might just get made fun of. Either way.”

“Worse than that,” he cheekily adds. Nate takes a glance towards the satyr Heather gestured to, and he can’t help but to smile. “I’ll try my best to keep quiet. Satyrs can be such a handful, honestly. I’ve got twin satyr friends back home; they’re terrible.” Despite his promise to keep quiet, the last bit catches the other student’s attention, enough to offer them a small glare, to which Nate gives an apologetic smile.
“Not to sound cheesy, but you are a queen. Not of England, but to me, anyway.” He knows it does sound cheesy. Extremely cheesy, so much so that it makes his cheeks flush unnecessarily, but he smiles, nonetheless. “You can pay me in quality time.”
Cafeteria Woes / Nate and Heather
"That bad huh?" She laughed at the face he was pulling and patted his cheek lightly. "Poor Nate, you’re scarred for life now after drinking a bad smoothie. Although, don’t let the other plant eaters hear you. I think that satyr might’ve had a heart attack." She gestured down the table to a boy that clearly had no interest in their conversation.
Heather shook her head with a smile. Yea, she probably was a VIP to Nate. Only trumped by one person in particular that he would drop anything for at any time, even if he wouldn’t admit it. Not that she would bring it up to Nate, sore subject and all. “Gosh, you make me sound like the queen of England over here, I feel like I should be paying for your PR or something.”

[Nate watches Finnian’s hand movements with the scarf, brows knitting together in earnest as he tries to commit the knotting process to memory. But to no avail. Although, he can honestly say the knot looks familiar.] That’s a the type of knot-- [He doesn’t bother to finish the fact that Wilde, of all people, has a knotted rope tattoo similar to the one Finnian’s tied. It seems irrelevant.]
[He tries not to laugh at the sheepish look Finnian gives him, but he can’t help himself.] It’s all right, mate. I think I can manage. Sort of... Maybe. If not, would you do me the honors?
Yeah, hold on, let me— [takes the scarf and wraps it around the cap of his folded knee and starts working on a reef knot] For example this is the back of your head right here, and wrap it from here, taking both ends… and left over right… then right over left… and then pull, except perhaps you ought to make sure it fits properly first before pulling the knot tight…like this.
If you’ve done a square knot before, it’s the same thing. [unties the scarf and hands it back to Nate, rather sheepish] But I’ve never tried it on a scarf to be quite honest, I’ve always done it on a rope.

“Same,” he breathes out in agreement about not expecting anyone else to be out. In his initial meeting with Grace, Nate recalled her mentioning about having been in the forest, about having had a den, but it doesn’t register with him just yet, leaving him a bit curious as to why she’s out so late as well. “Ah...” Glancing from Grace to the altar, he feels his skin flush despite how cold it is, and he takes a step to the side, allowing her to take a glimpse of the altar without him trying to block its view. “Praying. Why are you out?”
