100% agree with this take.

If I may add something, I think Lucas would be more than happy with someone who doesn't share his background; further than that, I think he would actively avoid dating dating people from the social circles he grew up in, even though one of his big anxieties about being perceived as posh or a girl caring too much about money would be solved. Still, he focuses on other features in a person; of when it comes to others and himself.

This is a hill I'm willing to die on, but I'll say again that I think him wanting to join Doctors without Borders is one of the most important and telling traits about him. His dream is not about traveling the world from one luxury hotel to the other (on this note, he half complains about all-inclusive hotels and how there's so much more to see of the world outside of them), but to help people in poor and needing countries through his own work. He doesn't want to start a charity and send them money, he wants to go there and help with his own two hands, because he knows money by itself can't do what needs too be done. People has to do what needs to be done.

Also, he likely doesn't do athletic physiotherapy, so if we assume he's just a physio working at a hospital or clinic, and we consider he's a bit older likely fully independent from his parents, he's by no means a millionaire. No healthcare provider is. So, yeah, it's unlikely that lifestyles would clash, at least when it comes to everyday stuff.

Also also, I won't go into it for the millionth time, but I do HC that he likes the kitchen answer to his first date question. Sue me.

Anyway, all this is just me babbling about that pixel man, because the original answer was honestly on point. Thank you so much for mentioning me! I'm honoured ♥

I love Lucas, but I feel so self-conscious dating him, because I'm too different for him. I'm not sophisticated, simple person, and I didn't have a rich background, compared to him who has high-standards, high maintenance, and have a old money background. I feel insecure when it comes to fictional characters.

I think we can all sometimes feel insecure even when it comes to fictional characters, anon, and that's all right! It's hard sometimes when these characters seem so "perfect" in their creation, but that's also why it's so nice headcanons are a thing and the benefit of a fandom.

Because I honestly see all those things in Lucas too, but also so much more. I honestly think he'd love to date someone different than him, as I think the high-standards he's faced growing up weren't always a positive. He strikes me as someone who's afraid of how he's perceived by others (kind of like in the Japanese concept of honne and tatemae), and so his "true" side doesn't always get to shine. But in dating someone *not* from the same background as him, he might get a reprieve from all that and simply be himself.

There are so many lovely fanfics exploring this side of him as well, especially by @sailorpleiades and @notasdriedapricots, and I highly recommend them (and their Lucas takes in general) 🤍

That's such an odd and random pairing, but MM is so cursed and non-canon I'm not at all surprised. I haven't touched MM and probably never will, but everything I've seen from it has just been... weird? The whole MM game is giving dollarstore LITG S2. It is fun to imagine how absolutely awful Blake and Rocco would be as a couple though, I'll give them that lol

A lot of pop psychology gets thrown around and since I already have a headache, here's preventing you lot from making it worse.

Love-bombing: A manipulation tactic of increasing affection and grand gestures before or after doing something abusive, specifically to weasel one's way out of consequences.

What it is not: A streak of affection and generosity towards friends/loved ones.

Trauma-bonding: Knowingly traumatizing someone to take advantage of their vulnerable state, to then act like the "hero" or the one who cheers them up.

What it is not: Bonding over similar traumas.

Gaslighting: *Knowingly* convincing someone they cannot trust their own perception of a situation in pursuit of one's own narrative.

What it is not: Misaligned perception of events.

Narcissist: Someone afflicted with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, a traumagenic cluster B disorder, that struggles with self-obsession, paranoia, craving validity from the public, delusions of grandeur, and social disconnection.

It is not: Your rubbish ex that cheated on you.

This is based on the idea of at least preserving the text of one of my favorite visual novels, Love Island The Game, by Fusebox. Seasons 1 to 3 will be removed from the original app (which had been renamed Love Villa at some point) on December 11, 2023.

The plan for now is to manually extract the script from the game, then code it into a simple, fully text-based, playable format. This will be done for Seasons 1 to 3.

The LITG Fan Community has decided to record and preserve what we can:

I saw someone saying "It's not like I wish them bankruptcy, but-" I do. I do wish them bankruptcy, because they've proven with everything leading up to this point, they're a bad company. I don't say this (only) out of spite or from a place of moral judgement, but from a strategical, objective point of view. They are where they are because of seasons 1 and 2, and because people are or at least were engaged enough to spend money and watch ads in order to continue the story. They had everything to succeed, the concept (which wasn't even theirs, mind you, that was handed to them), the writers, the artists, the programmers... They killed the hen that laid golden eggs to make nuggets. They are dumb.

And I know, okay? I know it's because of something beyond their control having to do with something related to the app not being supported anymore and whatever. That's precisely why I say they're dumb. Because now we feel betrayed; there is no way they found out today this was happening. I have an old computer with old windows and Steam has been letting me know since January it'll stop working next year. I call bullshit. And also, I refuse to believe that, in this day and age, there's no way to salvage the assets and translate the code to not lose everything. Maybe I'm wrong, and there really is absolutely no way, I wouldn't know, but I don't trust them to do even the bare minimum anymore. At least offer to transfer gems to the other app, as a sign of good faith, SOMETHING. Because they really showed their true colours with the losing all your gems thing... Just ask for the email and transfer them, you greedy, despicable creatures.

As a company, they deserve to fail. Because they're dumb. And also I think we should recognize our share of fault here as well; the boycott after they fired the writers and artist lasted less than a fart in a basket, so the signal was "we don't care, we'll keep consuming it regardless".

Personally, even though I stayed away for seasons 4-6 and only returned a couple months ago, I was playing season 7; but I'll stop. I'm not saying anyone should, for the record, it won't change anything and respectfully I don't give a fuck what you choose to do, you do you. I never gave them a penny, but whatever little they're making from me watching ads for gems, I don't want them to have it, if anything at least out of principle. I'll spend that time replaying Lucas' route and recording it.

It's such an incredibly dumb move I honestly still can't believe it.

Well, I guess this is the end then. What a shame, but also not surprised as fusebox has run this game into the ground 💔
