It's just not the same when I don't see you

a little angsty Kenshi x reader fic.

Once again, not counting words.

You felt a little alone at home, Kenshi busy with work, and you pondering about life. It scares you how every single day, Kenshi comes home looking bruised or worked out from his job. Sometimes you check up on him but he'll just end up saying "I'm fine."

You missed how he takes care of you, how he always watches over you, but now, he's so caught up with his job. He became cranky and grumpy as the days go by, and you feared that you possibly caused this.

One day, Kenshi had to leave for work. You checked up on him if he was okay, and he just nods and leaves. No goodbye kisses, no hugs, it was a little sad not having a little affection when your husband is going to leave for work.

You thought if you just didn't give enough love for him, or have given time for him. He really looked so so tired but yet restrains and tries to show that he can handle himself.

Later that day, it was like he didn't come home on the time he usually does come home. You felt a little tired, waiting for him, but you stayed strong, waiting for him to come home to take care of him.

Then, he just didn't come home. Days, weeks, you started to get scared. Was he missing? Did he die? The thoughts scare you.

You turned on the TV to stay awake and keep your mind off of the scary thoughts. You switched to the news channel and you just felt your heart drop as you see the headline on the screen.

"A group of FBI has gone missing on a mission, some KIA some MIA."

Then you saw a familiar body. It couldn't be. It shouldn't be.

Everything feels so dark and alone knowing it. You feel so vulnerable and scared, no one to protect you. No one to take care of.

No one to love.
