yes, you should be there when people are going through things
but you do not have to sacrifice your happiness and joy so that you can be their punching bag
dealing with angry and bitter people can be toxic
and a lot of us are dealing with our own issues
you can acknowledge that there is a place where that bitterness comes from and understand why they are hurt and angry
but you do not have to take on their burdens
and you do not owe angry bitter people a relationship or friendship

Like I said, maybe some day, people won't try to ruin friendships or relationships for their own stupidly selfish purpose. At least you end up knowing your worth to those involved.
