“Yoyo?” Conner repeated the name. He tried really hard not to give the boy an odd look about his name, but Conner totally understood where the boy was coming. While he was in Cadmus — though it wasn’t long — the scientists called him ‘Superman’ or ‘Project 13′. After his escape, the people gave him names, but it wasn’t until Clark when he got both his Kryptonian name and civilian name. “Yoyo’s such a fresh name. But, you don’t have an actual name? Like Samuel? Or Ralph?” Of course the kid didn’t have an actual name, he just arrived on the surface, Kon.
The two were getting close to the pizza place that Conner could smell the melted cheese and spices from the pepperoni. A small smile grew on his face. The teen couldn’t wait for Yoyo to taste real food for the first time. The experience couldn’t come fast enough, and Conner was excited that he got to be part of it. “Do you know what kind of pizza you like, or do you want to try a little bit of everything? Do you like spicy?”
ofsupercloned‌:
Rations and nutritional replacement drinks sounded like they would suck. They also sounded like they had no flavor at all, so Conner was glad that he offered the younger boy to get pizza with him. “Sometimes, if you’re lucky,” Conner began before pausing for a second. He looked around, trying to figure out the quickest way to the pizza place without them flying. “People will give you free food. Usually as a thank you for saving them.” The teen smiled at his younger brother and began walking. “C’mon, this way!”
Even though Conner knew the two weren’t getting free pizza this time, he did wish they could have. Something about free pizza tasted better than having to buy it yourself. “So, do you have a name or something?”
“They do?” Why would they do that? Wasn’t it their job to save people?  He didn’t need to be given things because he did what he was made to do. Yoyo hadn’t learnt the whole thing with giving gifts to show your appreciation yet.
When told to follow, he obeyed, already completely trusting his older brother. The boy was generally a trusting person, despite the things he’d gone through, and that could be dangerous. Thankfully, this time, his trust wasn’t misplaced.
“I wasn’t really given one. Most just called me P16 or Sixteen, but…” Yoyo hesitated slightly. “There was one scientist who called me Yoyo when we were alone, so I guess that’s kind of my name. To him, there was nothing odd with not having a proper name. It was how it had always been. Conner would probably get it too, but most people would find it straight out weird, especially since the boy didn’t seem to care much about his lack of name.

He thought about his options for a minute. On one hand, he wasn’t vulnerable on the island, which meant trouble for him. On the other hand, how would he know what'll hurt and what won't if he doesn’t try.
Though, fighting a bear or some other wild animal could result in him dying — has anyone ever died on the island before? — and who knows what after. But as reckless and confident as he was, Conner was certain he could take on a mammoth and come out on top.
“Let’s do the cart thing first. If I survive, we’ll go fight a wild animal. Sound good?”
ofsupercloned‌:
“Magically heal?” The teen asked. He was curious. What did they mean by that. Did the island have some kind of magical healer? Or something? The more he thought about it, the more he wanted to fight the local wildlife. Just to see what the outcome was.
But at the same time, he didn’t want to risk it. There were too many things at stake, and he wanted to play it safe until he got at least his vulnerability back.
“You think it’s safer to just do that cart thing?” Conner asked, a serious tone now in his voice.
How is he going to save this idiot’s stupid ass life….why does he have to…

“I think it’s the best option for you not living with some horrible injury that’ll take forever to heal normally, yup.”

“I’ve trapped you!” Jon lays himself across his brother’s lap, hoping to keep him there for a while.
Amused by his younger brother’s playfulness, Conner just sat there. He did not move a muscle because he did not want to upset his brother. But also, because of obvious reasons, Jon had trapped him with some magical barrier that was the boy. “Oh no!” The teen cried out, clearly faking it. “What am I going to do now?!”
He struggled, trying not to struggle to hard. “Curses! Wait ‘til I get out of here, l’il bro! You’ll pay for trapping me!”

Conner was minding his business. He was walking aimlessly around whatever area he found himself at. Honestly, he was just searching for something to do. Luckily for him, he didn’t have to travel far to find something to get his hands on.
“SOMEBODY HELP ME!”
The cry for help was close — obviously considering the teen did not have his super hearing. Actually, he didn’t need his super hearing to hear the cry since he was pretty sure the scream was coming from the building he outside of.
Conner rushed inside, trying his best to follow the scream. Getting lost a few times, he finally located where the scream was coming from. And the reason why they were screaming for help.
“You wanna drop that knife before someone gets hurts?” The teen asked, cracking his knuckles. With no reaction from the knife-holder, Conner took a step forward. “Guess you’re the one getting hurt.”
Before he could do anything, he needed to get the smaller guy out before they got hurt.

Curse looking put together at all; he certainly isn’t working a prestigious 9-5 anymore, nor would he be able to squeeze his way in anywhere if he weren’t silver-tongue his way into anywhere for that matter.
But does working his way up really matter, anymore? And even if it didn’t–
He certainly doesn’t deserve to be man-handled like this. They’re in the same damned cubicle crammed to the fullest with a simulation of whatever it is the authorities are doling out, brazenly charading as choice.
“Now, we can talk this out in few words.”  Crane puts as much firmness behind his crisp diction, mirth and disdain filling out his eyes.
Does it really look like he has anything worth stealing on him? The thrifted suit and tie ensemble emerged from a move for desperation, and perhaps it was against  his best interests for survival; if he could only blend in.
What on earth could this -scum of the earth- hope to achieve from cornering him?
Other than for his paper-white skin that looks promising to common skulking hoodlum, just a suit doesn’t necessarily mean a fat wallet, but that would be lost on a lowlife like this – desperate times, as he is, calls for desperate measures.
Crane still keeps his chin tilted up to the man in question, arrogance branded onto all his features. If he’s learned anything from being swung around by his share of vigilantes, his show of indignance would get his face scraped across the ground.
If only he’d learned then.
At the familiar, distant click that could only mean one thing, Crane’s tongue grows heavy in his mouth and he raises both hands with what feels like a rock lodged in its throat.
The worst thing about this isn’t the dawning realization that he’ll have to sc-ream uncle; only lint and a measly few bills line his pockets. His credentials? No one would care anyways, if he was found dead or alive.
It’s that he doesn’t trust this god-forsaken place to cough up a hero than one of these opportunistic ingrates to come find him if he does. Crane thrashes with the hand clenched down in his bangs sopping with sweat, ramping up the necessary theatrics and letting the dread swell in his chest.
“Pl-ease! I have a wife. Please, please, you can take anything you want as long as I can see my son and daughter again. You have a family, don’t you!? Whatever that family looks like– Surely you can–”
Crane’s shrill, sob-drowned cry for help cuts through the otherwise deafeningly quiet, isolated alley.
He might as well accept that he’ll never amount to anything else. Anything, to get himself out of this pinch. If it’ll excuse him from being found bleeding out with a 0.35″ cavity drilled out and deep-seated in his head.
God, he’s built for more than this. More brilliance offer, more people to help. A type of help that would harm people than help them, but that he genuinely believes will enhance them.
If only, somebody’d -
“SOMEBODY HELP ME! -”

He sighs so so loudly with all of his soul.
“Look, if you fight a wild animal and live you ain’t gonna like magically heal. No matter how hurt you get or whatever.”
Well he doesn’t know that but he does know while he’ll die and come back it’ll all be fine…if he lives he has to live with the pain.
“If you fall on your head you got a better chance of the aftermath.”
“Magically heal?” The teen asked. He was curious. What did they mean by that. Did the island have some kind of magical healer? Or something? The more he thought about it, the more he wanted to fight the local wildlife. Just to see what the outcome was.

“I was raised by the league of assassins, highly trained in stealth along side by the heir of the al Ghul family,” Theodore explained. He lifted himself up on his feet, knocking his heals together to watch Connor with a thoughtful eye. “I will call it heat vision if that’s what you want. But I don’t see how you can see in heat.”
Conner wasn’t amused by the boy’s talents. Though, to be honest, none of what the boy said phased him. “The League of Assassins?” Conner asked. He couldn’t remember if he had dealt with them or not. They didn’t sound like anything he — or any of the Supers — have encountered.
The teen was certain about one thing though. He knew the other was a ward of Batman. And Batman commanded a lot of respect. Enough to make Conner look at Theodore with the same respect as he does Tim. And the other Robins. “I can see perfectly with it. It’s like you and seeing in the dark. I don’t see how regular people can do it, but you do it anyway.”

siren hates tuning people out. he’s very good at it, but the idea of going out of his way to miss out on any specific noise just doesn’t feel right. in concept or in execution. the bus is such a gross place, though! don’t people have access to self-driving taxis and– no, of course they don’t. he hasn’t seen a single robot since he’s gotten here.
he isn’t really bothered by the man yelling as he reads until people practically start creating a mob around him. this is the sort of things heroes are supposed to do, right? get rid of bad guys that make people upset? siren doesn’t really have the ability to kill him, at least not as easily as he usually does.
the idea to really get involved doesn’t strike him until he sees a kid walking up to him and threatening him. he closes his book and gets out of his seat, carefully holding onto the poles and walking over as the hostile environment infects him. “ hey, hey~ i love bloodshed as much as anyone else, but let’s not make this complicated~ ”
his big smile and relaxed voice doesn’t lend to the idea of the next sentence coming across as particularly threatening, as siren calculates in his head a way to silence him without tracing the cause back to himself. “ just break the stupid thing~!  ”
he makes a motion towards the phone, and while the man quickly tries to dart it away from him, his voice ‘‘‘mysteriously’’’ disappears. the man’s mouth moves, begging for sound to come out but absolutely nothing comes out. siren tilts his head, doll-eyed almost loudly feigning innocence.
Conner was pretty much about to pick the guy up from his seat and toss them off the bus when he noticed their voice mysteriously disappeared. He watched closely as the rude rider begged for sound to come out of their mouth. Other riders were just as wide-eyed as him about his voice, and most went back to what they were doing before the scene started.
The teen, on the other hand, just stared at the new player. It couldn’t have been a coincidence that the rider’s voice disappeared when the other mentioned about breaking the phone. They had the ability to cause people to go mute. Or the ability to silence noise. Either way, Conner was both amazed and terrified. He wanted to know what their extent was on this ability, but decided not to say anything. Instead, he played it off like he did not just see this stranger mute a passenger on the bus.
“How strange.” He finally said, after realizing he was starring far too long. “Some god must have heard our prayers about shutting this guy up.” Though, now that he thought about it, he didn’t recall anyone praying to have the guy shut up. Whoops. “Guess he’s staying on the bus.”

Yeah, taking one look at him Badou realized Kon would absolutely do dumb crap like that. The less invulnerable part is a little disconcerting though.
“So maybe you shouldn’t do this? Have a little self preservation, dude.”
As much as he’d love to see this, again, the police….and not the guilt.
“Why don’t we just get a cart and throw you down a hill, then?”
Fighting against the local wildlife or riding in a shopping cart downhill at full speed? Which option would hurt less, he thought. If he was back on his world, Conner would totally fight against the local wildlife — probably a bear or a lion. Here on Radial Island that would not be an option. At least, not yet.
“I’m pushing myself. I need to test how vulnerable I am here. Otherwise, we just doing stupid stunts for the hell of it would be for nothing. I need to find a wild animal worthy of testing my strengths.”

Jon let out a sigh of relief. It was a good plan. It kept the person safe, kept Kon away from possible harm for the moment, and gave Jon a small enough task he was sure he could complete it. He flashed him a nervous smile and turned to walk off, then stopped.
“Oh, my name is already in your contacts. So when you get there, just look for me under Jon Kent and tell me where you are. I have a map, so I’ll be able to find you quickly.” It shouldn’t even take the remaining time he had of his flight to finish this, he hoped. Nothing too serious, he’d dealt with purse snatchers and muggers on the island before.
Although his super hearing had been turned off, he did catch what Kon said and blushed, taking off to handle the thug quickly so he could go back to showing his brother around.
“You mean Superboy, right, Superboy?” It was weird hearing how open Jon was about his secret identity. Especially in front of others. Conner wondered if that’s how Clark taught him, or if being on the island made him not care about hiding his secret identity. Whatever the reason, Conner was sure to ask and make some sense to it.
It had been some time since Conner had seen some action, but he was glad he wasn’t chasing after the thief. It gave Conner the chance to actually look at the city and decide on what areas to patrol for whenever he felt up to patrolling an area. For the time being, the teen just followed the victim to their place.
Following Jon’s directions, Conner took out his phone and searched for the boy’s name. After a bit of a browse — he was surprised that his phone’s contact list had everyone’s contact — Conner dialed his brother and gave him the location of where they were at. “Hey Superboy, we’re here at this thrift shop located near The Surface. We’re inside since the victim wanted to buy something for us for helping them out.”
After the call, Conner hung up and put away his phone away. He really needed to look over the device and see what he was allowed to and allowed not to do.

That’ll be the day, when someone promises not to die and then actually keeps it. Only idiots spout crap like that, which is why Badou hardly looks impressed by that statement.
Just like those soldiers during the Predator movies, Badou keeps quiet and makes way too much noise. Luckily there’s no infrared….
“Oh, you never seen the show? It’s about a buncha guys that do stunts, really stupid shit. Like riding down a hill at top speeds in a grocery cart. Do it for the hell of it.” Meaning he thinks this is incredibly stupid so, you know.
“Stunts for the hell of it?” Conner was amazed that he hasn’t heard of the show. Better yet, why he wasn’t part of it. He would totally do stupid shit like riding downhill in a grocery cart at top speeds. He was, after all, invulnerable.
Except, being on the island he wasn’t as invulnerable as he once was. Still, he’d probably do something of the sort. Maybe. He’d have to think really hard on it. “I would totally do something like that. But being here, I’m not too sure if I’d survive doing crazy shit like that.” The teen said after thinking really hard about it.

“Hey, l’il bro,” the teen ruffled the smaller boy’s hair. “I got you this for Christmas.” Conner pulls out a stuffed doll of what appears to look like Superman, except it wasn’t The Man of Steel. “Couldn’t find the materials to make one of dad, but this is Bizarro.”
Tumblr media
“Aaaw. Ya know, I actually met Bizarro once. And a version of me and Damian too like him. The one of D had a mustache and kept kissing people on the cheek. It was weird. But this is so cute!” He has a hoard of stuffed toys and animals now, but this one makes him smile a bit more, since it reminds him of his dad in a small way. He hugs it to his chest happily.
“Here, I wanted to give you this too.” He holds out the box, carefully wrapped. Inside is a black jean jacket with an iron on S shield on the back, similar to his leather jacket, but different material.

“Stuff comes out of your face, yes?” Theodore rephrased. Perhaps there was a better way to describe what he was talking about, but he wasn’t raised to be creative. He was raised to be deadly and precise. Let the artists be creative. “Heat is energy. It seemed accurate.”
“But they aren’t the same, though” Conner said. Sure, they looked like lasers, but they were much more. Instead of light radiation that lasers were known for, the beams that shoot out of the teen’s eyes was just intense heat compacted into a beam of red light. “But I can see why you’d think they were lasers.”
Conner looked over the boy. “And what can you do?”

darkmoondelusion‌:
Gwyndolin is touched by Jon’s words. He’s such a sweet child, and how wretched it is that he’s so unhappy here. At least the god has been able to give him some level of hope and comfort. He has to stop his (thankfully hidden) eyes from watering, focusing on eating for a moment. At some point before the night ends, he’ll have to hug his friend tight.
“Oh, ‘tis no bother. I’d rather hear about thy world, to be honest. Lordran was… a rather miserable and forlorn place. Of course it had its beauty, but… there were constantly forces of darkness threatening to overtake it, and humanity was cursed with undeath. Crime was rampant, due to civilizations falling. Though, I did manage to carve out a place of peace and safety for my followers in a gorgeous moonlit valley. But despite thousands of years of research and searching, I never found a way to save either the land or its people. For it to fade away is sadly for the best; perhaps they are free of their suffering now…”
That was rather dark. Maybe he shouldn’t have gone into such detail.
“I do not mind hearing about what you both love about your world. The prospect of other worlds is… fascinating. But it is dangerous enough to require many heroes such as thyselves?”
Jon shrugged, though he wanted to hear more about the other heroes. “I mean, in dad’s defense, he didn’t even tell me I was half alien until I was eight, and only after mom and I were kidnapped by Intergang. After that, he went back to being Superman. He didn’t have to worry about tiptoeing around me. There wasn’t a lot of time for things. Maybe that’s why he pushed me off on D for ‘training’? Not that I minded, D is pretty good at teaching.”
He listened to Lin talk about their world, and was reminded of Krypton. “Well, Earth did have it’s problems. Gangs, super villains. Though the super villains only showed up after the heroes did. We have a few aliens attacking every once in a while…. ya know I never realized how dangerous our place was, bro.”
That was somewhat alarming. “Though it’s not terribly dangerous for me and him or dad cause we’re immune to like, everything except Kryptonite and magic. Though once people found out about Kryptonite, they started trying to find it, though B is nice and tries to make sure people don’t have any. B is one of my favorite heroes. One of. There’t too many to choose from, though you’d like Wonder Woman, she’s the best!”
He turned to Kon with a smile, taking a break from talking to eat. “What did you think of Earth?”
Listening to Lin talk about their world made Conner realize the two worlds weren’t much different — in the sense that dark forces were constantly trying to take over them. It made Conner sad a bit. Was there any world that didn’t have bad people trying to take it over? He thought.
The teen was amazed how much their father hid from Jon, but he understood why he did it. There was a growing threat and if people found out that Superman had a son, well, the media would have a field day with that. Which also meant the boy’s mother — who he assumed was Lois Lane and had no powers of her own — was at risk. Clark was a smart man, always going above and beyond to protect those he loves.
“What do I think about Earth?” He repeated Jon’s question. The question baffled Conner. He was never asked what he thought about Earth, and he had no idea how to describe what he thought about the planet. Though, after a moment of thinking, he did manage to say something about his home that he believed to be the truth. Even if he hated it deep down. “If Cadmus never cloned Superman, I wouldn’t be here. Like, literally. I wouldn’t have experienced Earth or the experiences I’ve went through to be where I am today.”
