Technical note: OLGA'S HOUSE OF SHAME is a 1964 movie classick directed by Joseph P. Mawra and produced by George Weiss. The character of OLGA was played by the lovely Audrey Campbell. The OLGA series includes WHITE SLAVES OF CHINATOWN, OLGA'S GIRLS (both 1964), Mme. OLGA'S MASSAGE PARLOR (1965) and OLGA'S DANCE HALL GIRLS (1969). When released they were considered shocking and only played in the underground grindhouses, when viewed today they seem funny and mild.These films have been universally described as awful, and criticized for being misogynistic, but John Waters cites them as major influences. Even a few of the "actresses" in the OLGA films were actually pin-up models whose photos appear here regularly.
Just like the OLGA films, the photos on this blog were once considered shocking and possibly misogynistic, now they seem mild and sometimes funny...hence the title: OLGA'S HOUSE OF SHAME.
