My Planned Future
I have many ideas for stuff to do during my career and here is a list of stuff:
A third series of the children's TV classic Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men and there is a story behind this. Between Sunday 23rd February and Monday 13th July 2020, I wrote Bill and Ben: Series 3 because I thought it was about time it happened because Bill and Ben: Series 2 was first broadcast between Monday 8th October 2001 and Wednesday 4th September 2002, they hadn't had another series for 18 years at the time, also because Bill and Ben is No.3 in my top 10 chart of favourite TV shows from my childhood. I wrote 26 ten-minute episodes, which were a lot of fun to write, and sent the scripts to the BBC when I finished, and eight days later, they replied by saying they liked my writing but decided not to commission the series. I was disappointed of course, BUT, I was still very proud of my work and that hasn't stopped me from writing. And who knows? Maybe, just maybe, Bill and Ben: Series 3 will come to life one day and hopefully the cast will my best friend/comedy partner Jack Robb as Bill, me as Ben, my good friend/soul sister/fellow Kids Stars presenter Brianna Colson as Weed and John Thomson, Jimmy Hibbert and Eve Karpf reprising their other roles and it will still made in stop-motion animation like with the first two series.
I've also thought about writing a film called Bill and Ben: The Movie and here is a summary of the film: One sunny day, Bill and Ben are playing hide-and-seek in the field next to their garden, but there is a young couple nearby who are social media stars and having a picnic. Bill hides in the picnic hamper when the social media stars aren't looking and when Ben finds him, they see the picnic litter coming inside the hamper and the lid closing, that's because the social media stars are going home and they've accidentally taken Bill and Ben with them. When the social media stars find the flowerpot men, they tell them about themselves, show them their work and offer them the chance to be social media stars just like them. Bill and Ben accept the offer and soon become famous just like the social media stars. But because of their fame and fortune, will they forget about their friends from the garden and will they ever return home? You see, I thought if I am going to put Bill and Ben on the big screen, I want to take them out of the garden/their comfort zone and put them in this big new world which they aren't familiar with.
Another children's TV classic I want to bring back is Postman Pat. That programme ran from Wednesday 16th September 1981 to Wednesday 29th March 2017 with 8 series, 196 episodes and a film. I want to bring back Postman Pat because that's No.2 in my top 10 chart of favourite TV shows from my childhood and also it's to pay tribute to the following people who worked on the programme but are sadly no longer with us - Ivor Wood (who was the director from 1981 to 1997), Bryan Daly (who composed the music from 1981 to 1997), Ken Barrie (who provided the voice of Pat himself from 1981 to 2007 and sang the theme song) and John Cunliffe (who made it all happen by being the creator and writer from 1981 to 2003). If Postman Pat: Series 9 were to happen, I'd plan to write 13 fifteen-minute episodes based on stories Mr Cunliffe wrote but were never adapted for television. Like with Bill and Ben: Series 3, I hope it would have role reprisings and be animated in stop-motion, but I also hope Stephen Mangan would provide the voice of Pat in this ninth series after his brilliant performance as the character in the 2014 film Postman Pat: The Movie.
Another children's TV classic I want to bring back is The Shiny Show. That programme ran from Monday 11th February to Tuesday 30th July 2002 with 2 series and 91 episodes. I want to bring back The Shiny Show because that's No.4 in my top 10 chart of favourite TV shows from my childhood and also I think it's one of the greatest TV shows ever. I actually sent an email to Open Mind Productions on Friday 21st September 2018 saying how much I loved the programme as a child and asking if they could bring it back with Sue Monroe, Sam Mason and Wim Booth reprising their roles as Tigs, Dogsby and Mukka. Five days later, Chris Ellis (the creator of The Shiny Show) wrote back saying thank you for being a megafan of the programme and there is sadly no chance of it returning. I was disappointed of course but happy that Mr Ellis took the time to write back. Last year, I thought maybe I could bring it back in a way - This revival can be animated in stop-motion animation to keep the puppet spirit of the original programme and the cast can be Brianna as Tigs, Jack as Dogsby and me as Mukka. Brianna and Jack are two such brilliant performers, that's why I thought we'd be the perfect new Shiny Show trio. If I can do this revival, The Shiny Show: Series 3 will consist of 24 nineteen-minute episodes. Fingers crossed it'll happen, eh?
Barnett & Robb's TV Burp is a comedy TV panel show co-hosted by me and Jack in which we are joined by six guests and we talk about the previous week's programming of British television. It will be very much like Harry Hill's TV Burp because it'll have the humourous reviews, the before-advert-break fights, the end-of-show songs, the comedic highlights, the sausage clock and characters such as the Knitted Character, Peter the Duck and the Shark.
Barnett & Robb's You've Been Framed! is a comedy TV clip show co-narrated by me and Jack in which we basically commentate on humourous home videos and the people who send those videos in get £250 for them. It will be very much like Harry Hill's You've Been Framed! because it'll have also have the non-commentary clip sections with music playing in the background, the before-advert-break competitions on some episodes such as What Happens Next?, Framed Gold Record, Which Bit Gets Hit?, Who's Been Framed?, Framed in 30 Seconds and Are You a Cry Baby? Maybe!
Headmaster is a half-hour TV sitcom co-created by me and Jack about the adventures of anxious school headmaster Ozzy Frankens (played by me) and his best friend, alcoholic deputy headmaster Gary Theodore (played by Jack). We both wrote about 14 Headmaster stories during our fifth and sixth years at secondary school and we even thought about doing two Headmaster films where Ozzy and Gary go on holiday to different countries, but that's as far as we've got film wise. We've also thought about doing three Headmaster stage shows which will be ruder than the TV show and films because we can get away with it in the theatre, and a spin-off TV show called Bottom Gear which is basically Ozzy and Gary's version of Top Gear.
Laughter Media is a half-hour TV sketch show co-created by me and Jack. I am a huge fan of sketch comedy and after being inspired by Monty Python's Flying Circus, Not the Nine O'Clock News, A Bit of Fry & Laurie, Chewin' the Fat and The Armstrong & Miller Show, I wanted to have my own sketch show. Jack and I have come up with some characters for Laughter Media sketches and I'm hoping to do it while we're still young because Stephen Fry has said that doing sketch comedy is like being at school doing impressions of your teachers and I think he's absolutely right.
Oscar Barnett's Fun World is a TV entertainment show created and hosted by me which is I call a Friday-night party on TV. In each episode, I'm joined by a guest(s) and we have fun together. We chat, sing songs, play games and dance but we need to watch out for custard pies flying in your face because you never know when they're going to turn up. There is always a messy fight at the end in which we get covered in custard and gunge.
And now, films. I've already been an extra in the two films For Those in Peril from 2013 and Redwood Massacre: Annihilation from 2020. I've also been in Tranquility Wild West Town's 2023 film Vengenace 2: The Return of Jack Nash where I played the general store keeper, John the Bank Manager and Don the Outlaw. Between Summer 2020 and Spring 2021, I wrote my first ever feature film which is called Magic Jeff. It's a live-action silly slapstick comedy film and this is the summary: There is an art competition at William and Grace Awdry's secondary school and the brother and sister draw a picture of a magician dressed in rainbow clothes called Magic Jeff which wins them the competition and the prize was having their picture in a gold frame. Years later, William is grown-up, married and is about to start a new job as shopkeeper at Paperchase which he is very nervous about and when he sees a shooting star one night, he wishes there was someone to help him build his confidence. William's wish comes true as the magic of the shooting star brings Magic Jeff (played by me) to life turning him into an actual human. But that's not all, Brian and Lizzie Ouchie, bullies from William and Grace's school, return to beat the biscuits out of William and Jeff. Also, Jeff falls in love with a young bubbly woman called Rachel Shelley and the two of them get along really well with each other. After I finished writing the script, I sent it to StudioCanal but I still haven't heard back from them. I hope the film comes to life one day because I worked so hard on the script.
One more thing. Now I know I can't plan my own guest appearances on things because that would be ridiculous, but I would've loved to been a storyteller on Jackanory, but that programme ended in 1996. Thankfully, the strand of CBeebies Bedtime Stories continues the tradition of celebrities reading stories directly to camera, so hopefully I will be a storyteller on that programme one day.
So there you have my plans for future career. As you can see, I am organised and know what I really want to do during my career - A mixture of doing revivals of classic projects as well as original projects thought of by me. But don't forget, I'd be very happy if I get a call offering a role in a project thought of by someone else.

My YouTube Career
I want to get into the world of showbusiness, particularly in comedy. I sort of started my career into that world on YouTube on Saturday 28th April 2012 with my first ever programme Oscar Barnett's TV Burp, which is based on my favourite ever TV show Harry Hill's TV Burp where I take the mick out of television. It ran for 5 years/10 series/104 episodes and the final episode was broadcast on Saturday 30th December 2017. But it's not the end of my TV Burp, because a new 13-episode series started on Saturday 24th September 2022. It was to celebrate 20 years of the whole TV Burp franchise as Series 1 Episode 1 of Harry Hill's TV Burp was first broadcast on Thursday 14th November 2002. My new TV Burp is a fresh new show and not a rehatch to the original version.
On Friday 20th January 2017, Oscar Barnett's CBeebies on BBC Two History was launched, it stars me reading out schedules from BBC Two in the CBeebies programming block from 2002 to 2004 with my puppet sidekick Bobby the Bobby who is a policeman. There are two versions of the show - the original where I just read one week and the revived where I read as many schedules as I can in 15 minutes. The original version ran for 1 year/2 series/19 episodes. The revived version first launched on Friday 26th April 2019 and so far it's ran for 3 years/4 series/46 episodes. A fifth series with 13 episodes is on the cards but I don't know when it's coming out.
On Thursday 25th May 2017, just five days after Series 9 of my original TV Burp finished, The Mr Bean Show was launched. It stars me as Mr Bean and based on the character created by Rowan Atkinson, it is about the adventures of Mr Bean and Teddy as they get up to all kinds of trouble. It ran for 1 year/2 series/23 episodes and the final episode was broadcast on the Thursday 24th May 2018. The first series had 13 episodes and the second series had 10, although it was meant to be 13, but a day after Series 2 Episode 10 was first broadcast, my first YouTube channel got falsely suspended and after no success on getting it back, I decided to stop the show completely.
On Saturday 9th June 2018, I got a second YouTube channel and on Sunday 2nd September (the same year), Oscar Barnett's Toys Family was launched. It is about the lives of my toys Little Bear, Toffee and Tiny Monkey, Simon Tortoise and all their friends. It ran for 3 years/4 series/52 episodes and the final episode was broadcast on Sunday 21st November 2021. I was inspired by my friends Erran Mann, Harry Humble, Ben Bryan, Erran Mann and Ellis Pagon who had Toys Family series-es of their own.
On Saturday 17th November 2018, The Oscar Barnett Show was launched. It is a comedy chat show where I'm joined by guests who I interview. There is a chat in the first half and a general knowledge quiz in the second half. I think it's a show where you can feel comfortable whilst watching and have a good time, a bit like The Graham Norton Show. It ran for 3 years/4 series/27 episodes and the final episode was broadcast on Saturday 8th May 2021.
On Saturday 5th January 2019, my best-known project Behave Loonie was launched. It is based on and replaced The Mr Bean Show, but only this time, it stars the clumsy character 29-32 year old Oswald Loonie played and created by me, but the show is still full of comedy accidents and falls, and a teddy bear sidekick called Ted. It ran for 3 years/4 series/111 episodes and the final episode was broadcast on Sunday 27th March 2022, although at the time I was making the last six episodes, I wished I never announced that Series 4 was the final series and I'm trying my best to think of a way to bring it back somehow.
On Sunday 4th October 2020, I got a job as a presenter on the children's YouTube channel Kids Stars which is run by my friend Johnny Lessels. Every day, they put up a fresh playlist of children's TV shows (it's based in the UK so it's usually British children's TV shows) and in between each show, it'll be either me, my friend Brianna Colson and Johnny introducing the next show. It's like CBBC, CBeebies and Milkshake!. Since Tuesday 21st June 2022, I've presented as Mr Bean as well as myself, because I've still got the costume and Teddy from The Mr Bean Show and I can still do the voice. Also Mr Bean: The Animated Series is one of the shows we have on Kids Stars and I thought it would be fun for the children if a Kids Stars character was a presenter as well. My last ever presenting day as a full-time presenter was on Sunday 2nd April 2023 so I could focus on my personal life, but on Thursday 22nd June in the same year, I announced that I would be returning as a part-time/guest presenter.
On Monday 8th March 2021, Oscar Barnett's Cinema Shenanigans was launched. The show was devised by Ellis Pagon, it is based on the popular American comedy sci-fi series Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and it is follows the cinematic antics of me stuck inside the Satellite of Gloves with Leo Bear, Toffee and Tiny Monkey after a man called Dr Disaster (played by Ellis) fired me up there taking a dislike to my previous job in Cloud Nine. Each episode opens up with very comical and dry moments with the main characters, then Dr Disaster gives them an opportunity to watch the most cheesiest telly programmes (a mix of children's programmes, sketch shows, sitcoms and entertainment programmes) around from the vaults and it's often found they enjoy every one of them. During every programme they watch, they do an off-camera commentary on what's happens as it goes along as well as what they eventually thought of it when the programme's over. Eight episodes were devised, but as of now, the first five episodes are on YouTube and there's no sign of the last three. It's probably because Ellis is busy with other things.
There were also two cancelled projects due to me busy with my personal life - The Adventures of Hank Hammer and Loonie Burger. First of all, The Adventures of Hank Hammer was created by my friend Michael Hird and it follows the misadventures of a private detective called Hank Hammer (played by me) solving ridiculous cases around the glitzy metropolis known as Tanglewood. Think of it as The Pink Panther meets Who Framed Roger Rabbit?. 13 episodes were devised.
Now, Loonie Burger was created by Ellis Pagon and is a spinoff series to Behave Loonie. In it, Oswald Loonie and Ted have finally gotten themselves a permanant job, running their own fast food outlet called Loonie Burger. But they can't do it on their own, so they enlist the help of Leo Bear, Toffee and Tiny Monkey and Simon Tortoise. And together, they serve fast food, meet some rather strange customers and battle with their landlord (played by Ellis). 13 episodes were devised.
So far, my YouTube career has had a few ups and downs over the years, but it's giving me the chance to entertain people and make them laugh which is something I love doing.

My Life
My name is Oscar Barnett. I was born on the 27th January 2002 and I am a Scottish autistic man who is wanting to be an actor, writer, comedian and singer. I was born in Aberdeen hospital and for the first six months of my life, I lived in Monymusk before moving to Gourdon afterwards.
During school education, I went to playgroup between 2004 and 2006, afterwards I went to nursery school between 2006 and 2007, then I went to primary school between 2007 and 2014, and finally I went to secondary between 2014 and 2020. So I was in school education for 16 years.
My last day of secondary school was Friday 20th March 2020 and a couple of days later, COVID-19 struck the UK so I didn't have any further education buildings to go to. But then, on Monday 2nd November 2020, I became part of the local BFI Film Academy and we had meetings (in person and over video call) every Monday evening until Monday 22nd March 2021. We haven't had another meeting since then.
I also do volunteer work. On Tuesday 20th February 2018, I became part of the Brighter Bervie team which is a eco group set in Inverbervie and it's our job to keep the community bright and tidy. I help out on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and sometimes Saturday mornings. On Wednesday 5th February 2020, I became a volunteer at the Inspire By charity shop in Stonehaven, but had to stop the following month because of COVID-19, also because I had left school at that point and it was them who organised the whole working-at-the-shop thing for me. It took a long time going through all the things that would help me go back there, but I finally returned on Wednesday 16th March 2022 and made some new friends as well as meeting some old ones. However, on Monday 6th February 2023, I realised that I don't really enjoy working at the shop anymore due to the behaviour of some of the volunteers. On Monday 19th June in the same year, when a really annoying volunteer joined the team, I realised that I don't like my job at the shop at all.
On Sunday 29th August 2022, I joined Ury Players which is a drama group based in Stonehaven and has been on the go since 1954. I was really happy about this because group is about acting and being an actor is my dream. My first Ury Players project was their 2022 pantomime which was Sleeping Beauty. We performed five shows at the Stonehaven Town Hall for four nights between the 7th and 10th December. The extra one was performed on the 10th and 2pm.
