Day 365: 31st December - We are having New Year's eve fun...honestly. Our usual games' evening before watching the London fireworks on TV followed by slightly more hysterical games. Perhaps this symbolises the mixed feelings tonight, I always feel a bit sombre and this is a different New Year's Eve to the one we thought we'd have. I'm much more trepidatious about 2022 but I'm sure it will be a better year for all of us.

Day 364: 30th December - Theo is 17 today. 17!! Another drizz day so we just hung out at home watched films and ate stuff.

Day 363: 29th December - Getting ready for Theo's birthday tomorrow, Harvey and I popped to the supermarket. He walked part way home while I finished shopping and I picked him up from Marazion. It's been drizzly all day, not great when I have such a huge pile of dirty washing.

Day 362: 28th December - Back home, with post break debris. Emptying bags and filling wash baskets. We had a lovely few days, quite a break from reality.

Day 361: 27th December - Another rainy day, another excuse to stay in and play games. Usually, when in Bournemouth we'd enjoy going to town, the big cinema, and eating out. But, that'll have to wait until safer times. And we've had a nice time having a break from reality.
Harvey is close to guessing that he's Yoda. This photo was taken just in time before midnight.

Day 360: 26th December - Another day of chat and games but as the rain stopped briefly we took a walk to the park at dusk. It was covered in a low lying chilly mist. Very atmospheric. More party games until the early hours.

Day 358: 24th December - It rained all day so we did quizzes until dusk then it dried enough for us to go into town and look at the lights. It was busy, we wore masks.

Day 357: 23rd December - We've arrived at G-ma's for Christmas as planned. The younger people are full of beans and Harvey's here seeing if he can headbutt the ceiling! Theo's worried. Says everything about the difference between the acorns and the grapes.

Day 356: 22nd December - Popped into town with Harvey to pick up medication - antidepressants, not immunosuppressants which he stopped taking who knows how long ago to no apparent ill effect! We had a little wander around town in the grey driz but he was so happy to be here.

Day 355: 21st December - Today was Harvey's birthday day out. Harvey was still keen to go though it was a busy day. We went ice skating at Eden and enjoyed the lights in the early evening. Then we went to Pizza Express in Truro. Back home, another Christmas ghost story then an early night for Harvey. It was a lovely day.

Day 354: 20th December - Worked from home today - struggled to find patience for some folk grumbling about trivial nonsense. Harvey had a visit from two lovely men from the crisis team who talked with him for about 1 1/2 hours and then one of them had a chat with us. He was so nice, which of course made me cry, and had some really interesting perspectives on things. They'll be visiting daily but are confident he's not in danger.
Before all of this I had bought some collections of weird and scary horror tales with the plan of reading one a night to the family from the Christmas themed stories. Tonight was our first. They enjoyed it.

Day 353: 19th December - Harvey's home and today he's 20! This is the first time ever that I haven't made him a birthday cake but, who cares?! He's feeling a lot of relief now that the truth is out and we've talked a lot. Craig is struggling to reconcile the 'normal' Harvey in front of us with the Harvey who was in hospital 36 hours ago after a suicide attempt. There's a lot more talking to be done.

Day 352: 18th December - Annoying lamp post but lovely sunset over Penzance.
I've been worried about Harvey, this term hasn't felt right. You may recall my brief visit was to allay my concerns. Well, as he said himself, he's really good at lying. He videocalled from hospital today with a nurse present. He overdosed on paracetamol yesterday but took himself to hospital, he's physically fine. Luckily Craig is working in Enfield so he's driven down to pick him up as they didn't want him staying in a London hospital any longer than he had to but they also needed someone to be with him. He told me he's been struggling for about a year and was kicked out of university after the summer. I'm annoyed university never contacted us. He's been spiralling all this time, and I knew he wasn't right, but it was always 'Oh it's just Harvey'. I asked him directly so often, even reminding him that he could tell us anything but he just couldn't.
I'm feeling sick, sad, numb but also like this is the beginning of the journey to getting him to a better place and that makes me oddly happy.
Craig has to do a couple more shows tomorrow morning and will then bring him home. We'll start from there.

Day 351: 17th December - Book group dinner at Tremenheere with the Restless Temple lit up. My sister's birthday today. Neither of my nieces are joining her for a takeaway at home as both of them have covid. Lizzi, who has been shielding as she has type 1 diabetes, got pinged from where she had her booster.

Day 349: 15th December - Met up with Theo after college and finally went to the Seen exhibition in town. All a bit too much for Theo - they don't want to see depressing LGBTQIA+ stuff, and they know all about the good stuff so they felt it was an exhibition for the cis hets more than anyone else.
Annoying one other person in the way of the best photo through the triangle. But I had to take my photo quickly. Theo's knitted brow betrays their general discomfort.
