I noticed something this evening.
As I thumbing through my dashboard, minding my own business, I noticed one particular advertisement kept showing up. So i returned to the starting point of pulling up tumblir, and I counted......and counted.......and counted. I counted the number of posts by the amazing tumblirs I follow; I counted the number of times I saw that one particular ad. In 200 posts I counted 50 ads. That is the same ad 50X not 50 different ads, just one 50X
That is every 4 posts this ad pops up. Yes I understand I can pay to remove ads, however, why is the same ad being shoved down the throats of those that choose not pay for a free service? If you click the option to report the ad, it comes up more frequently. I know because for 2 days I reported each time it was on my dash. I reported it as each of the options, yet it has seemed I opened a Pandoras box.
If you are curious as to which ad, it is for Conoco and Phillips. I don't care that these companies are advertising where they can, I do care about the subliminal assault on people. We should be able choose what and where we buy anything, not to have our brain tricked into submission by over saturation of any product. It is an assault on our subliminal conscious. Programming as a means to to steal our freedom of choice.
Yes advertising is exactly that, but it's also not forcefed to us at this level.
Anyway, just a rantin a public service cloak.
Good luck fellow tumblirs
