A pure-hearted kuro-gyaru and a simple diamond-in-the-rough
With a love as odd as theirs, who's to say where it will lead? Dreaming of finally becoming a Tokyo girl, Tamao moves to the capital and falls in love with Yamada, a guy working at a supermarket. At first glance he may seem unappealing, but a love as pure as theirs is second to none.
Read through Chapter 11
Very cute story with a charming art style! Story has some parts that are unexpectedly deep/emotional as well, which is a plus. Very enjoyable read and very cute, with a SUPER cute relationship and charming characters!! I really wish there was more to read, but it hasn't seen an update in two years... I hope it gets more someday.

Crossplay Love: Otaku x Punk by Tooru (べおる)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shuumei has a problem: he’s in love with Hana, a girl who works in a maid cafĂ©. Unfortunately, he’s too embarrassed to go in and talk to her
until he puts on girl’s clothes and transforms himself into Mei. What Shuumei doesn’t realize is that Hana is actually Hanae, an otaku boy who’s more comfortable with people when he’s dressed as a girl! What’s more, neither of them are aware that they both go to the same school. Appearances can be deceiving in this wacky cross-dressing love comedy!
Read through Chapter 68.5.
Cute story! Gets a bit repetitive, though. Also, although I get the logic in having similarities between their friend groups and outside lives, it gets a bit boring when it's like that? What I mean is, they both have younger siblings who know they're into crossplay, and they both have friends who were able to tell at a glance that it was them while they were crossplaying. I'm not asking for drama necessarily, but I would like something more. Also, I wish there were more circumstances where they interacted with each other without malice while not crossplaying. It seems Shuumei has a higher level of respect for Hanae than Hanae has for him, too. I don't know... I think that the romance between the two of them, AS the two of them, has taken a serious backburner because the series focuses so much on the crossplaying. Which makes sense, of course, since it's a major part of the series and even in the title, but it makes me wonder how things will ever get resolved. Anyway, enjoyable to read, great meme expressions, pretty cute art style, would enjoy reading more after the series puts out more.

A Crossdressing Cosplayer Gets a Brother by Aokawa Nana

The title explains everything.
Read through Chapter 12.3.
Pretty cute. Nothing really of substance, but very sweet. I don't... know how their relationship will change once Louis (the younger, French brother) learns that Masaki (the older, Japanese brother) is the girl he's been chasing after/"dating". The series keeps making jokes about their relationship being sketchy, in a way that makes me feel like it... prooooobably won't turn into a broXbro thing, but it's kind of vague so far. There's a little girl with a crush on Louis, though, so maybe he'll far in love with her after he learns the truth? I don't know. Anyway, cute series, wouldn't mind reading more at some point.

Read through Chapter 1.
Although not necessarily my type of story, I think the premise is interesting and the art is pretty good, especially evocative in the gory cinematic scenes. It's a shame it isn't really my type of read because it really is pretty interesting. I've been thinking about it on and off since I read it yesterday, so it's capable of lingering in my mind even though I read such a small part of it. CONTAINS GORE, BLOOD, VISCERA.

Read through Chapter 37, then skipped to the end and read the last few chapters to completion.
Repetitive story with a cute, nostalgic art style. Enjoyable, if a bit boring. Very repetitive. I'll repeat it a third time because it's true: it's repetitive. But, still, it's cute. The way Yamada started to fall for Kosuda so quickly was cute.

Anan, an office worker who’s only experience with men comes watching porn, tries to win over her boss and love interest, Dept. Chief Kitazono, but fails at every turn. In fact, Kitazono is also a virgin with zero romantic experience. This is the start of a wild AV romantic comedy.
Read through Chapter 10.
Very funny story. I find myself rooting for Kitazono and Anan and hoping one day they'll get together, since they seem to genuinely like each other for more than just sexual reasons. I'd like to read more, but I want there to be a lot more to read (since I'm currently caught up with translations, it seems, as this seems to be a new series) before I pick it back up again.

Brother, Am I Cute? by Geulyu
Tumblr media
Si-hyuk loses his parents in a sudden car accident and his younger brother Si-ha is 20 years younger than him. The family was whispering about me and my younger brother at the funeral.
Read through Chapter 11.
It's... fine. I thought it was relatively interesting at first when it seemed like the big brother was going to have to work really hard to help his little brother, but then it started doing the stuff you see in certain stories nowadays where he suddenly "levels up" and gains new skills immediately (though the story didn't call it that or treat it like that). Immediately, his life became too easy to become interesting. Honestly, I could've dropped it a few chapters earlier, but I wanted to see if it would get any better. Anyway, it kind of reminds me of that one story with the dragon daughter levelling up her dad. The one thing that this story might have going for it is that the site I was reading it on had a Yaoi tag on it. Assuming that's correct and the big brother is gay, I suspect, despite the misleading title, that his love interest would be the best friend that is trying to help him out. If this story didn't have the weird levelling up thing then I might have enjoyed reading it, even despite how his life got too easy too fast, purely for the romantic development. But, as it stands, it really just isn't worth reading more.

Through his mother’s connections, he was able to transfer to an all-girls school, but it was stuffed to the brim with gyarus! Pretty fun so far. Cute gyarus. I'm hoping that he's an uncracked egg and in the end will want to stay as a girl forever, and realize she's a lesbian. Maybe transition could save her...

Kill the Villainess by (UNKNOWN NAME, COULD NOT FIND)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Be it throwing herself off her balcony, drinking poison, or even stabbing herself, Eris Miserian has attempted every means to end her miserable existence and return to her real home in South Korea. But—trapped within the confines of a novel she only skimmed through—Eris is denied death until she fulfills her purpose as a minor character, a mad villainess. There is not a single upside to her situation, as only people who eagerly anticipate her humiliation and suffering surround her. Instead of trying to change the course of the novel, Eris wholeheartedly embraces the role of a villainess. She wishes to perish and avoid reincarnation in this realm, hastening her return to her own reality. That is why she must let the novel's plot unfold and ultimately die by execution. In the meantime, she leverages her high social status to manipulate other characters and seek out those who can ensure her soul will be sent back to Korea. Even in the face of insurmountable plot restrictions, Eris intends to break every law to finally escape this wretched world.
Read to completion (Chapter 102).
REALLY really incredible fantastic story. Incredibly tense and made me want to continue reading even when I needed to sleep. Art was gorgeous in the high detail scenes, somewhat plain in the low detail scenes. I thought all of the characters were incredible, well fleshed out with really interesting stories. I like how the MC never once faltered in her decision to go back to her original world. I wish... the one thing I wish is that the original Eris would have gotten to see what happened. I don't think it would've made her happy, not really. But... maybe she would've felt hopeful. I wish she would've seen how much her maid cared for her, and how much Helena cared for her. I wish the three of them could have been happy together. But... well, that wasn't in the cards. It was impossible, if memory serves. And, in a way, that tragedy embodies the rest of this story. Senseless tragedy wrought by the people in her life that she had no control over. Anyway, I really liked MC's thought process throughout this entire story. She was smart, fast, brave, and unwavering. She was incredibly realistic and amazingly well written. I also loved Helena, her devotion to Eris was breathtaking. She deserved better. She was a pawn, and she was happy to be. Being a pawn was what made her the empress, the head of a nation, the most powerful woman in the country... but all she truly wanted was a friend. I loved how self sacrificial she was, although I feel bad for her, too. I don't think she will find her happiness. I hope... if/when she has children, I hope she loves them very much. I hope that if her husband, the prince/king, takes a mistress who makes him feel happy like she used to, that she never loses her status or her head. I also really liked the punishment the knight, Jason, was given. Hubris was a really interesting character, and I wish we had seen more of what the original plot he and Eris were supposed to go through together would be. The ending was sort of... well, I won't say disappointing, but maybe lackluster? It fit the realism of the story, the way the MC's life didn't really change much even after going through all of that (but at least she had Anakhin with her!), but it was still sort of sad. Overall, the story was great, though. I would read it again.

The Rules of Rose Ivy Manor by Soohoo, 624, Mulpooule
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rosé Ovair thinks she woke up in a romantic love story where she's the rich heroine with a handsome fiancé, but her new home... isn't quite right. Her family seems to be keeping the cause of her father's death from her, and the servants all have fake names. Unfortunately, she is so enamored by the idea of marrying a good-looking man that she fails to notice much else! Will Rosé realize that breaking the rules of Rose Ivy Manor leads to deadly consequences before it's too late?
Read through completion.
Story was... fine, I suppose. Intriguing enough, though it felt sort of rushed at the end. I think the actual plot itself was pretty interesting, but the refusal of the FL sort of got grating at points. I understand refusing to see the situation as it truly is as a sort of coping mechanism, but she took it to new heights. I think it would have been better if, at some point, she realized that she wasn't actually in a romance OI, even if that only happened after she defeated the Great One. I'm also not completely happy that she ended up staying with her "fiance" in the end. I won't say I think she should've ended up with her brother, but... I think they had way better reason to be together. He's been trying to protect her for almost as long as he knew her, and she tried to protect him plenty after she transmigrated. Plus, I don't know... he's handsome lol. I don't like how her "fiance" (eventually husband in the end I think) continues to threaten her brother over and over, even after things have settled down, either. He never truly regained his humanity, and I don't blame him for that, but it's frustrating. I kind of wish the detective had also gotten more time spent on him (and that the maid/his sister wasn't his sister, but maybe a romantic partner? IDK). It really felt like he didn't do much at all in the end. Overall, I thought it was a pretty interesting story, but the foolishness of the FL did make it hard to enjoy towards the end. She slowly got more and more stupid to the extent that it was impossible to believe she wasn't somewhat aware of the true plot. I don't know. I enjoyed it, I would maaaaybe read it again, but I'm not in any rush to.

Akuyaku Reijou desu ga, Watashi o Anata no Seidorei ni Shite Kudasai! by Haneta Daisuke

The Crown Prince publicly announces that their engagement is annulled and that she is to be banished. All my efforts as her attendant to avoid such a scenario were all in vain, unable to avoid the condemnation flag, my villainess suggested that she wanted to be my sex slave?
Read through Chapter 5.
Sigh. Listen, I didn't have a lot of hope for this series. It's literally a hentai. I was drawn in because the art style of the cover looked nice, that's literally it. And that would've been fine, if the backstory we were given wasn't as interesting as it was! Though only given a few short pages, we see that Christina had a relatively interesting, if not uncommon, backstory. It really isn't that different from the average villainess backstory, but it's still charming. I'm particularly endeared by her crush on her faithful servant, and the fact that she graciously thanked the girl who "stole" the Crown Prince from her. And, because she was secretly hiding this side of her, I would LOVE to explore more of it. Instead, the very first page we see her being fucked. And it only increases from there. I would love love love if this were a cute shoujo where she and her servant get closer together, her ever loving him and him perhaps somewhat oblivious or, more preferentially, understanding her love and loving her as well but holding himself back for the fear that she only wants him as a rebound and he's afraid of hurting her or her reputation, but... it's not that. Hell, I wouldn't even be as upset if their first time having sex was gentle and loving. Instead, they go at it quickly, with almost no foreplay, and her entire desire for wanting to fuck him in the first place was because that way she would never be allowed back into her old life. And then she openly calls him her sex slave in public, despite how uncomfortable it makes everybody. Ugh... I know this comic obviously wasn't made with people like me in mind, but I hate that it drew me in anyway. Damn.

Futari Ecchi for Ladies by Katsu Aki

It is main a story based on the hit manga by Katsu Aki, ’Futari Ecchi“ in Yura’s point of view. The newlywed story continues but this time around the perspective is from Yura, our FE heroine. This tale adds new twists and mind boggling problems that women encounter.

Very cute story with very interesting statistics and information about sex! The numbers are probably off by now, but the art style is very charming and the characters are very cute and endearing. Not particularly exciting to read, but enjoyable all the same.

Queen Cecia's Shorts / The Empress Wears Knickerbockers by Jeogyam
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With 99 nations conquered and the cup of the ruler in her hands
you’d think she was off to a heroic conquest, but the great queen’s Cecia’s real concern was her uncomfortable corset? The queen of Valencia suffered from complicated laces and heavy corsets, and thus ordered her trusted brother, Duke Aenon Lionheart to bring her a comfortable clothes. Meanwhile, Yuri, a clothing designer was killed in an accident after suffering from a small minimum wage at a medium-sized clothing company in Korea. She was reborn in a medieval country ruled by Cecia. Yuri vowed to revolutionize the outdated clothing dilemma, so she dressed up as a man and worked as a designer at the top of the continent’s highest court to do easy business. But
what happens when Ennon discover’s Yuri’s true identity
?
Read through Chapter 128. Read on kunmanga (Pocket Comics doesn't translate all the details, it seems. The KM translation is, I think, from bibimanga)
DAMN. DAMN DAMN DAMN. This story is really fun! Kind of drags at times, and honestly kind of lame at times (not necessarily boring, but not necessarily interesting), and kind of makes choices sometimes that I don't agree with, but it is a pretty fun ride. The ML is pretty enjoyable (not only because he has a little gay panic for a while there), but their romance is never the most important part of the story, which is nice. It takes a long time for them to get together (like, 90-something chapters? Which is how long it takes Yuri's crossdressing secret to be revealed), though a bit plain to be honest. Their relationship is cute. I appreciate how it is established by Yuri as soon as she realizes Lesta's feelings for her, that they aren't reciprocated, and how she thinks it's strange that he fell in love with her given their large age gap. I'm sort of torn on it, not because I wanted him to be the ML (I never saw anything truly romantic between them), but because MC, by her own admission, is probably older than *he* is, if it takes into account both her memory of her past life, as well as the life she has lived in the current life. But, to her defense, she never SAYS he's creepy about it, and admits that he's very good at not crossing boundaries. It's kind of interesting to see how I, myself, have grown from when I was young; as a youngster, I would've shipped them and hated Aenon. Anyway, as for other things I like about the series: I REALLY liked how the topic of marriage for women back then was handled, and how it showed just how many different reasons women had for not wanting to get married. I especially related to Arsinoe, who wanted a husband who would take care of hard things for her, since she was never taught how to care for them. I do a disservice to her by explaining it like that, but it's a lot more involved than that and this paragraph is getting long. Anyway, I also REALLY, REALLY loved the Queen, Cesia. She was stunning, her personality was fantastic, she was amazing... I loved her. I... was kind of sad that it seemed like she never actually tried to be in any bloody battles, but that's a small gripe. Other gripes I have with the series: Yuri spearheading ALL sorts of industries, from zippers, to rubber goods, to condoms, to tampons... I don't know, it wasn't necessarily unrealistic, considering how Yuri was aware of tampons and used them in her past life, and how she was around zippers in her everyday life back then, so those two make sense, but what would she know of how to make condoms and rubber goods? My other gripe, and the biggest gripe of the series... is that Cesia and Yuri never get together. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I never expected they would. But... *DAMN* they would've been wonderful together!!! Their relationship was fantastic, everything from the way Yuri looked up to the Queen, to the way the Queen looked out for Yuri, and the way she always doted on Yuri, too.... I wish so, so desperately this had been a WLW comic. There were so many moments where the Queen and Yuri could've been together. Cesia LITERALLY confessed to Yuri and wanted to marry her (back when she thought Yuri was a man)!!!! God. I don't know. Knowledge that something will never happen doesn't mean that you can't still wish it would.
Anyway, would read to the end... IF SOMEBODY WOULD FUCKING TRANSLATE IT. I know there's at least two more chapters released in... Indonesia? I think? But no English upload that I could find. I looked over the upload, and I have at least a vague idea of what happened, but I don't know beyond that. Also, I'm not sure if those two chapters were the END of the series or just the end of the season. The author included art from other people (workers? or other artists?), which I don't usually see at the end of seasons, but who knows? But if that's the end of the series, then there's a lot of stuff left unfinished.... Well, whatever. Hopefully I get to finish it some day.

Cursed Princess Club by Lambcat
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meet Gwendolyn – living proof that princesses don’t always have it all. See, although she lives in a castle and her father is the King, Gwendolyn isn’t like a movie princess, or even a fairly-tale princess. She’s got a big heart, but isn’t particularly attractive and doesn’t have a Disney-quality singing voice. But one night, she accidentally stumbles upon the twisted world of the Cursed Princess Club, and her life will never be the same. Hexed and cast out, the ladies of the club are just the people Gwendolyn needs to show her that just because she doesn’t “fit the mold” does not mean she’s any less of a princess.
Read to completion.
Wow.... Okay, first thing's first: it was a really good story. I love drama, and this series certainly had it. The Plaid Queen especially kept me on my toes frequently. Everything about her story... it was like she drove the drama lol. I love her. Anyway, the story itself was very charming, though it did feel as though it dawdled at some points (and to be fair, it's very possible that they only felt that way because reading on a weekly basis is far different from binge reading). Now, that said, let me admit something: I... honestly don't remember a lot of it. Not that it's forgettable by any means!! I just... have a bad memory. Reading for multiple years, with breaks included, just means that I'm bound to forget some things. So, sadly, unless I do a full reread, I won't be able to give a full and proper summary of my feelings on the story. Based on what I do recall, though, the story is very good!! Some of the jokes and humor is somewhat dated, but not horrifically so. I thought Gwen's journey to self acceptance and appreciation was beautifully done. I will say (unrelated to Gwen's journey), it felt like the small picture was occasionally lost to the big picture. Case in point being that the cast of the cursed princesses was thinned out significantly as time went on, and less time was spent in the club as well, to the point that we could almost forget about them all, which is sad. Not that I hate Gwen's journey, but I was genuinely very excited to see a story about cursed princesses, emphasis on the plural, and to see more of their daily lives with their curses. I was saddened that we didn't do that. Well, we did it for a short while, but I mean that I wanted to do it for longer, you know? Some of my favorite princesses were left at the wayside for pursuit of the bigger picture, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it was kind of disappointing. Other than that, I've never been one who greatly enjoyed open ended endings, so the vague ending we got, while not bad, wasn't my favorite. It was a very well written ending, but I did want to know more, you know, wanted to see further in the future. What is Blaine's path like? Frederick's rule? Will Gwen move to the Plaid Kingdom to be his Queen one day? What of Maria's future? What about Lorena? Do any of the cursed club members ever break their curses? Did Jamie and Leopold have something? What about the ex-Plaid King, will he ever get to make amends? I don't know... the ending was good, but I wish it had more concrete future stuff. That's just a small opinion, though, and really just a nitpick. Anyway, as for things I enjoyed... I enjoyed the drama (as I said), the cast was strong and interesting, the various curses on the princesses were all pretty interesting and unique, Gwen's journey was well written, as was the start of the journey for Blaine, and Frederick's journey... there was a lot that was really well done! Overall, it was a very enjoyable webtoon, and it's sad it's ending. Thank you, Lambcat, for giving us this wonderful story. I would read it again.

My Sister's Happy Ending by Hanseol Myeong
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yoon Bom-bit loves one thing above all else – dating simulation games. Her most recent obsession? A feudal-era game called “The Lonely Hawk Sings in the Absinthe-Colored Cage” starring Anette De Valois. Bom-bit would do anything to give Anette the happy ending she deserves
but her plans are consistently ruined by Mariette: Anette’s twisted stepsister who leads Bom-bit to getting a bad ending over and over again.
Read through Chapter 12.
So far... not impressed with the art. Also, it feels... busy. Mariette's body was overtaken by Yoon, which is a pretty common isekai trope I have no problem with. However, we mostly see the story from the POV of Anette, who seems to be playing mental chess with her family and any potential matches, while still apparently caring for Mariette despite the abuse she's suffered from her before. I don't know... it feels like they need to choose a main character because both Mariette and Anette seem to be vying for that spot, Mariette/Yoon by way of her otome isekai, and Anette by way of her having the main character spotlight. It's also annoying how Mariette continually treats Anette like she can't handle herself. I know this is because Mariette wants to save her after seeing her die in-game so many times, but it comes across like she doesn't trust Anette at all. This would be fine, if only it weren't for the fact that we can see things from Anette's point of view and we know that she's quite competent and can handle herself, at least mentally. Also, it's annoying how Mariette has no sense of decorum and doesn't even attempt to fit into the world of a noble.

Interesting premise so far. I would be interested in reading more, although I can't find any more uploads... maybe it's too new? But the older posts I've seen about it have been at least six months old... hiatus already? I don't know. Hard to say. Anyway, I'd like to read more when I can find more. Granted, I'm not sure how I would take it once it starts delving into the actual nitty gritty of the topic...
