I’m sorry, but if you think Eddie Diaz’s—a single dad, a Catholic, Hispanic war vet from Texas, who has an already complicated relationship with unsupportive parents—coming out story only matters in the context of Buddie, you don’t really care about Eddie.

That story has potential to be incredibly complex and moving on its OWN. And it deserves to be told on its OWN, agnostic of a ship.

Something about Shannon leaving Eddie and Christopher when Eddie first showed signs of PTSD while Buck came running to Eddie and Christopher when Eddie had another episode.

Eddie breaking up with Ana when he wasn’t ready for a “ready made family” while Eddie allowed Buck to take the reins with Christopher doing parental duties when Eddie needed him.

Eddie asked Marisol to help chaperone Christopher’s date with him sure but as soon as Eddie needed someone to have a serious one on one talk with Christopher to help Eddie understand what was going on he asked Buck.

Eddie needs to understand that Christopher doesn’t need another mother because he already has another dad
