Dissociative plural culture is learning something important, and actively feeling it slip away because the other people in your brain won't let you keep it.
Knowing that it's important and knowing that you don't get to keep it because it's potentially harmful. And knowing that it's to keep you safe but still feeling angry that you don't get to make the choice.
Making the decision to stop fighting when it happens, because at least then you can pretend that you're choosing this - 🐦
It's the worst feeling in the world

plural culture is not only having amnesia and forgetting things easily, but what we do remember is always so blurry and unclear (which also makes it hard for us to recognize if we have pseudo-memories or not, and if we do we'll always doubt if it's just our imagination or not,,)

Plural culture is engaging in your thoughts, until it suddenly strikes you, and you're like "wait that's not MINE thoughts" and then you're back to normal, but still aware of those thoughts.

plural culture is spending years fusing/merging into smaller and smaller amounts of pieces, only to then go through a huge stressor that causes you to split for the first time in a long time, leaving you with MORE than you've had in years, including an introject fictive who's basically right from their source media... not helping the self-doubt, and also hugely disappointing to have it happen after we made such progress.

Plural culture is wanting to find who coined a system term, because you’re pretty sure it’s an endo term but you can’t find any sources on it.
Considering it's a term I've had my psychology teachers use, I doubt it's an Endo thing
Especially considering 2 of those teachers during those classes activity had a side note that "social media has made people believe that people can have alters without trauma, this is absolutely not possible." (Paraphrased cuz it's been a while)
I haven't looked into it too much myself though

plural culture is realizing everything gets worse when your system is diagnosed. please don’t go through all the hoops just because you feel you need to prove yourself. it’s so hard to get gender affirming surgery/treatment after a dissociative disorder diagnosis
Getting diagnosed can be terrifying
It can help in some ways, and it can be validating
But honestly yeah, proving yourself should not be why you get diagnosed
I say this about a lot of disorders, but self diagnosis is very valid
I don't need a doctor to tell me I'm on fire, I know I'm on fire. I need a doctor to tell me how to treat certain fires
Those fires are the ones I got diagnosed with
Some fires I just hop in the shower and I'm fine, I don't need a doctor for that
Diagnosis is such an incredibly personal and difficult thing to do, and why you get one is your choice, but it is important sometimes to weigh pros and cons and figure out what's best for you

Plural culture is wanting more of a community who Gets It while also being well aware that traumatized people, especially unhealed traumatized people, are inevitably toxic as FUCK.
Like no offense but that's why so many online system spaces are Like That. Y'all need doctors not discord 😭
you can choose not to be toxic of course you're not automatically toxic because you're traumatized but many people simply do not care bc it's allllll abt themselves and their system like stfu seriously half the people in this community just perpetuate cycles that have no business being leveled against any other system.
"who hurt you" a lot of people so
Honestly yeah it kinda sucks
When you grow up surrounded by trauma and toxic environments you don't just magically end up unaffected by what you've been taught is okay
It takes a lot to unlearn that and you have to be willing to try

Plural Culture is like half of us don't know how our disorder works because only certain alters get that information and it's insanely frustrating
Yeah sure, Ghost or Dark could tell you about a thousand things about the disorder and how it works and why
Me?
Uhh people in head?? Trauma made brain upset and gave people in head?
I don't understand it, and knowing that peopleni SHARE A BRAIN WITH do is annoying. Stop gatekeeping information from me, brain
