Okay here's my prediction. Mufasa movie lore will be that his parents die Tragically and leave him an orphan. He then either 1. Is adopted by the current king and queen, becoming siblings with their biological son Scar, or 2. Is forced to earn his keep in the pride on his own, a task that is difficult and nearly impossible but he is just That Awesome and basically Proves himself to the whole pride and the current king and queen then adopt him or choose him as an heir. This outcome of BECOMING a royal child justifies 1. Him and scar looking nothing alike 2. Scars overwhelming bitterness toward mufasa being king over him, believing he should be the rightful heir and mufasa is not a true heir AND 3. Removes the biological element to kovu and Kiara being cousins if they ever choose to pursue a lion king sequel that acknowledges they exist.
Second prediction: the parents will not be named Ahadi and Uru.

The jackals too are outlanders.... But there ARE no pride lands jackals. Jackals are much smaller than lions and eat much less and much smaller prey. They are not competition, so unlike hyenas, lions share territory with them with no issue. Perhaps if the show showed some jackals on territory OTHER than our antagonist it would fall into the same category of overhunting. But also. Like. They never talk about this being the issue. And they so could. I get we don't want to show the characters eating dead animals on screen. I'm not saying they need to. But they TALK about hunting. If they spoke more about how the circle of life isn't just that hunting is bad, it's that hunters and prey must be BALANCED to preserve the ecosystem for everyone in it, it wouldn't be so annoying. If they chased down the jackals and said you can't hunt here, you need to hunt in your own territory. Or perhaps even "you can't hunt babies/colts/cubs, jackals, the circle of life needs the animals of the pride lands to grow up and have their own kids and continue the cycle. You know thats the rule here!" Or SOMETHING other than just telling kids Predators Are Bad for Being Predators.
Lion guard makes me insane as usual. Jackals go hunting and after a herd of zebras. So obviously the lion guard MUST intervene. Because obviously a predator hunting is evil and wrong and illegal. That's why the lions and the cheetah only eat meat off screen.

They finally took some time to acknowledge the reason that the hyenas are villains is because they don't share territory with lions, so when the hyena come into the pride lands and start hunting it upsets the ecosystem because it turns into overhunting. It would ALSO be wrong for the lions to go hunting in the outlands. Introducing a good hyena who is friends with the protagonist was a good call. Establishing again, this is an issue of territory and overhunting and careful resource management. That's why when zira and Co show up at jasiri (the hyena)'s territory it's a problem she asks the lions in the pride lands for help with.
But then thats really as far as they go. An extremely common episode plot is that a predator is hunting and we Must Stop Them. Like there isn't literally a lion and a cheetah on the team. And one can argue that lion himself DOESNT actually hunt- the adult lionesses do. But we also go out of our way to acknowledge that fuli (the cheetah) absolutely does hunt and kill her own meals lmfao. We see her ass AFTER a fucking zebra. Or an antelope or something? I don't remember tbh. but her and kiara and Nala go on a hunt.
That they then end before actually pouncing, because Kiara is just practicing with her mom, because TLK2 establishes Kiara has never been on her own hunt before and this is her first, so she's not allowed to ever ACTUALLY succeed in hunting in this entire series lmfao
Lion guard makes me insane as usual. Jackals go hunting and after a herd of zebras. So obviously the lion guard MUST intervene. Because obviously a predator hunting is evil and wrong and illegal. That's why the lions and the cheetah only eat meat off screen.

Rewatching the lion guard episode about zira and kovu and co and God. I forgot how funny the scar and zira situation is. They both say that kovu is ziras son who scar chose as his heir. But also scar isn't his father and also there were no other male lions in the pride rock pride and also zira was originally born into the pride rock pride. But scar isn't kovus dad. Don't worry about the fact he looks like him and the fact he's scars "heir" is his number one defining trait in tlk2 and the entire motivation for his quest to the pride lands. You have to ignore all that because kovu and Kiara get lion married and if we ever admit that kovu is fucking obviously scars son then oops, we did an incest

Wait, do we actually know where the Jeff the Killer picture comes from now?
Yes, and it's extremely sad. :(
We know where the image is FROM, but the actual search for the specific one and the bounty have been cancelled. The subject in the photo is a Japanese woman who was in an extremely abusive relationship with a man who ran a blog talking about how ugly and pathetic and disgusting she was and some of the most vicious verbal abuse you can imagine. He took one of these pictures and posted it in a forum thread for a "make me cute" early 2000s Japanese online meme challenge, where you would edit a normal photo to make it ugly or frightening. He did this, of course, to further mock and deride her face and body. From there people took the photo and edited it further and further- as this was the meme- until we got the image we see today. The earliest edits of the photo we have line up extremely closely not just with her face but the apartment behind her and everything in it and have strong digital ties to his website. We have other photos of her that are almost identical. Because of this the search is over and nearly everyone agrees this woman has had enough of her life put on blast in this horrible way and the right thing to do is leave it behind and move on.

Which is a little funny if true. Man up and be proud you listen to TRUE obscure jams
"the most mysterious song on the internet" finally got tracked down and it turns out it's from the soundtrack to an adult film, and everyone on yt is acting like this is So Bad like omg... It was found.... But it turned out it was from a NASTY PORNO the whole time..... What an awful outcome I was hoping it was a REAL song.... Like the fuck are y'all smoking. This isn't like the genuine stomach sinking revelation of where the Jeff the killer image originated from. Song got found! Awesome! Why are you all acting like it's a failure and not a success for lost media identification

Actually I know I have a lot of nateisms but I never notice them until other people point them out, like "his voice broke" or "for a moment, x. And then the moment ended." General writing cadence of having high energy scenes rife with extremely long sentences filled with rapid observations and many many commas. "Warbled" as a speech word, apparently. The fact I am constantly putting cliffs in my animations

Rereading agony as I prepare to work on the finale again. Passing lots of bits of Polyhexian Owl House Lore that I seem to often brush past as obvious canon. Like vee coming to kill hunter only for him to try and let her, or hunters first major breakdown being him trying to cut his sigil out, or a time he slipped away to try and kill himself only to change his mind and call Camila for help. Little nateisms.
