These shoes are the perfect example. They were found at Savers in Greensborough and are a truly amazing find. They look like the punk/cowboy style shoes that are being re-created nowadays however these gemstones are Vintage!
Tip - Google the brand you find on the sole or innersole and you should find out when your shoes were made.
In almost perfect condition they were selling for $10. This is a great price and if you're happy with that, tremendous! You have yourself a pair of shoes.
H O W E V E R.
Turn them over and you'll notice that the heel has been worn to the bone, (one of your mums friends probably danced her heart out in them). In order to dance once more, the caps need to be replaced which is usually around $12 - 20 depending on how nice your cobbler is.
Tell your shop assistant this and he or she will almost always lower the price.
We purchased these for $5, tremendous! We have ourselves a pair of dirt cheap shoes.

Marilyn's got an eye for ornaments. Not only that, but she keeps a list so that she doesn't buy the same one twice. Here she holds her treasured 'Poly Resin' house ornaments that she has collected over time from various op shops. Marilyn insists she has saved hundreds while gaining a healthy door front cabinet. She also collects less valuable trinkets like the ones pictures above. They don't make it to the cabinet but are a handy shelf filler at $1 - $2 each.

Britta has decided that she will wear this dress at her wedding to Willem. She found it in an op shop a few years back and has never worn it. Instead she keeps it safe in a zip lock high in her closet awaiting the day she doubts will ever arrive. The neck warmer was made from an unidentified mammal and the 'VCE Studio art circa 89' style painting, she claims is her most treasured find. Quality and dignity aside, it was insisted she pose nude with it.

Oskar found and purchased this dresser 10 minutes after it was abandoned by its ridiculous owner. Surprisingly he's happier with this ceramic nothing. During a lengthy in store discussion on what it actually was, no conclusion was made and so naturally, he had to have it. "It's sort of a salt shaker, except it's not" he explains.
