You know it's really hard to follow a movie's plot when you can't recognize the main actor's faces

#honestly #or like a little pop up when a character mentions someone by name that characters photo pops up #because so often in things theyll used characters names and id say 7 out of 10 time i dont know any characters names #and then i just figure it out as it goes along

I just saw a video on YouTube of someone complaining that penguin's hardbacks do no open flat and she compared it to some paperbacks editions. And hum, is it an American thing to have books lying flat when you open them??? Because I never had a single book which lies flat open on my desk apart from some art books. But I have never seen a european paperback which lies flat when open, you have to hold them ope, soo is it just an American vs European books thing?

#Im getting in early on this poll #but no i dont think i have a single paper back book that lays flat #like maybe it would do that if you break the spine but idk i try not to break the spines of my books #and im American for the geographical part of this #like that person maybe its just their books or some specific publisher idk #i do have one photobook thats is a bit odd cuz its almost like a naked hard cover book i guess #like you can see how the pages are all sewn together and its got like a cardboard like front and back #thats the only book i have that can lie flat (that isnt hardback) but like i said its kind of in between in my opinion

when i was post op after top surgery i had a good friend there with me to help recover. but the nurse didnt get the memo and when i woke up she was like “ok i’m gonna go get your girlfriend and bring her in to see you!” and i remember being so zonked on anesthesia and so disoriented i just laid there thinking wow…… all that an they’re bringing me a girlfriend too this place is amazing

i wish i could say this more eloquently but watching these college solidarity encampments popping up around the world… watching university faculty use themselves as shields to protect their students from the police… watching these students put their own safety on the line to demand divestments… i’ve never seen anything like it, and every update moves me to tears.

It is vital that we keep the efforts of so many students across the United States from going to waste. We need to keep the momentum going and ensure that news of the cruelty happening to the people of Palestine is not ignored or suppressed.

Despite what many news outlets may have you believe, what is happening in our world is not minor in the slightest. It is a genocide that is happening before our eyes, day after day. Do not forget the administrative responses these colleges have given to the act of bringing attention this inhumanity. This is history happening now, and these colleges are on the wrong side of it.

These students are calling to divest college funds from Israel. Do not let the media warp their efforts and paint them as an antisemitic mob. Do not let those opposing these demonstrations hide behind claims of antisemitism to justify their actions. This is about stopping human suffering, and to believe anything different is willful ignorance.

hey um are you guys seeing that columbia is threatening to bring in the national guard?

for those of you who don’t know, there were protests in the 1970s on us college campuses against the Vietnam War. At Kent State University, they called in the national guard, who massacred the protesting students.

This is an eerily similar chain of events. It’s mind-boggling that the US is so committed to imperialism that they would rather kill their own citizens than stop killing foreigners. More than that, that they would do so multiple times over, decades apart.

I hope I’m wrong and that the students will be okay. My thoughts are with them, just as my thoughts are always with the people of Palestine.
