The first Saturday (of many, I hope) where I can treat the weekend as a time to relax and chill and refresh for the week ahead. After a stressful night and morning, we had a nice lunch in the sunshine under this glorious sky. There were butterflies, birdsong and cats nesting and napping in the shade. Bees hovering around the bright yellow tomato flowers and the rather calming sound which could have passed for a distant waterfall but was actually someone's bouncy castle being kept alive. I intend to spend the early evening reading in the garden after a power nap. In October 2015 I had an idea for a business. I wanted to connect my loves of technology, data and the beauty industry. I wanted to use the latest tech, provide real world usage on something that was a fuzzy dream written into my dissertation 5 years ago. I wanted to grow and develop a unique algorithm that analyses natural language into useful data for beauty brands and PR companies and anyone else curious or working in the beauty industry. 18 months later, @prettyanalytics exists. It's a play off of my blog name (pretty not included) but we also have rather pretty data visuals (if I do say so myself). I guess I'm sharing this news on my personal account because no matter what the future holds for it and regardless of whether the risk I took pays off, it has been an incredible journey. It's taught me to step outside of the box and not be afraid. That if you work hard you can create and bring your ideas into the world. And that despite your fears, there will be people in the world who will support, believe in you and always be there to help! Despite being dried and pressed, this daisy has still retained its beautiful qualities of childlike innocence and a cheerful disposition to remind me of more carefree times.These last two weeks have weighed heavy with sadness and relief and confusion in feeling empty but also full of love. I could never find the right words to share but then I remembered an old Dream Theater song that I loved as a teen. It finishes with the spoken word of "death is not the end but only a transition". I've been a little off the Instagram radar this week as things have fallen topsy turvey. One of the great things about working from home (that im most grateful for) is that it allows me to take naps every four hours if I need to. It's also the reason I'm strangely posting at a random time of afternoon instead of my early bird morning slot. Whenever I have energy, I'm trying to get work done and my hobbies such as this and the blog have fallen to the wayside. But that's just for now, I look forward to getting back on track. I'm currently listening to the latest episode of Hashtag Authentic with some brilliant tips from @me_and_orla whilst drinking tea and enjoying half a doughnut. It's calm but not aesthetically pleasing so here's a calming photo of the horses at the farm from last weekend.l, instead. There were at least 20 frolicking in the fields.
