It's all about the confidence

season one of supernatual is so funny to me. sam and dean will literally show up to the crime scene in some fuck ass flannels and dean is in his leather jacket and the cops are like "who the hell are you?" and dean will be like "oh, us? well we are obviously from the us fish and wildlife service who else could we possibly be???" 

meanwhile theyre in the craziest outfits known to mankind with no badge or anything, so the cops will ask for their IDs and they'll hand them the most unconvincing fake id you'll ever see. the thing will be crumpled to no return and look like it was all hand written by a toddler and SOMEHOW THE COPS STILL BELIEVE THEM??

and then, they'll start questioning the victims family like "aw man :( I'm so sad for you :( that must be really hard :( so like what happened? and on a completely separate note, did you see anything? feel a temp drop? did you feel a cold spot? did you see something weird? like a creature mayhaps? like a ghost? did you see a ghost? do you believe in ghosts? please tell me it's a ghost?" like that's a totally normal line of questioning for a random drowning from two members of the us fish and wildlife service.

Jack and Sam in Tombstone 13.06

Sam is a character that I often don’t get until repeated viewings of Supernatural. Recently I was rewatching Tombstone for the 4th time and noticed some things I hadn’t before, namely, the meaning of this strange little head nod:

At first, I assumed he was thinking about Castiel, but on rewatch, I think it’s Jack that he’s thinking about in this scene. He’s concerned about Jack’s power and realizes that he and Dean have sort of flipped their roles in their perspectives on Jack.

I watched supernatural and fell in love with this tall handsome albeit cute shaggy haired beautiful pretty baby boy who has the brightest soul that can light up your darkest days and is as strong as a diamond. No matter how many other pieces of media I consume, he has my heart, brain, liver, kidney, intestines etc. No other character has ever appealed or mattered so much to me. They don't make men like Sam Winchester any more.

all due respect to dean enjoyers but is the obvious vulnerability not what makes him interesting. the denial of it all. the fact that he is so easy to read even when he's trying his hardest not to be and that other people can understand him better than he understands himself sometimes. if you really want a character who bottles their own emotions up to spare other people's feelings to the point of christ-like self-sacrifice well then boy do i have the winchester brother for you.
