Okay, everyone! Today officially ends the deadline for the sign-up!
The following people have signed up:

Be sure to check your inboxes and don't tell your recipient. If you want to know what they'd like, check their profiles/blogs, their fanfics and/or fanarts, or even search up their comments on Discord and try to find what they'd like, assuming, of course, you don't already know.
Also, a reminder that the deadline for writing your piece for your recipient is on July 2024, on the 15th. Please let us know when you've finished, and if the participants have finished their gifts well before the deadline, then we'll start the reveal sooner.

ANS Gift Exchange 2024!
Let's build some community and help others to find each other! This is a gift exchange similar to a Secret Santa, just instead of suggesting prompts when you sign up, we have a focus on discovering other fanmixers, editors, artists, writers, and more, getting a chance to see others' creations that we may have missed before. Just send an ask through here saying whether you are a fanartist, editor, writer, or anything else, and we will send you the account name of someone you hopefully haven't seen the work of that also writes, draws, edits, etc.., and based off of whatever you love there, anything wonderful that they've made, you create something for that person!
You'll have six months (July 2024) to create something for them; there are no prompts, just you get the chance to observe and discover and then create something.
It's just a fun way to appreciate the fandom, with all of our diverse talents and skills, and come together as a community, and grow a bit closer.
If someone isn't willing to create for a particular pairing or willing to see content for a particular pairing, just say so, when you sign up, and we won't give you a person who primarily or only creates for that pairing. We want it to be fun and not stressful!
Your decision to not see something for a particular pairing will not be publicly shared, so don't worry about that.
Though if you do that, you may have a greater chance of already seeing someone's created work, but that's okay too. If that happens, you just get to send some more love and appreciation to whoever you're creating something for.
Otherwise, we will pair you up with someone who may create content for that ship, so if you do not want to see or create for a specific pairing, let us know, so we don't pair you up with someone that may be difficult for you to enjoy the wonderful creations of!
As for how much of someone's creations you get to enjoy, it depends on what you have time for or interest in or motivation for. Since the goal is to appreciate someone as well, you have to view at least one of their creations, but you will have six months to view as many as you want to. If you look at one of their creations and are inspired right away and have a great idea of what to gift them, then you can create whatever it is for them right away and view their other creations later. The goal is to find someone new to you in the fandom, and to draw us all closer together. On that note, you will not get the name of someone who did not sign up for this event to create for. They may get your name as well or get someone else's. So, who knows one of your newest fans could be the one you also got the name for.

ANS Gift Exchange Sign Up Deadline
We decided upon request to make an official deadline for signing up for the Gift Exchange, and that deadline is this Wednesday, February 14th. It is a full two weeks after the day sign ups opened up.
So, if you want to sign up, this is your time or last chance rather. Names will go out the day after our deadline. (So, February 15th, you will get your names. Most likely in the evening on the Fifteenth in Eastern Time/Central Time.)
We hope you love this event and that you have a lot of fun with it!

In Case You Have Questions
If you, for some reason, realize you cannot get something made for the person you got (because of busyness, no ideas, or something else, whatever the reason is), send a message here to this blog, and one of the admins will get something made for that person. If that person ends up with two gifts, the more the merrier.
Remember though sign ups are either an ask to this blog or a message to one of us, admins, on Discord.
When it is clear that no one seems to be signing up anymore, we will close sign ups. (Though if someone does sign up last minute, accommodations might be made still.)
The deadline to get gifts posted and shared with the person you made them for is six months from the time you get the name of the person you are creating something for. (So around July 2024)
Names will be sent out as soon as signups close.

It is not strictly for ships; you don't have to create for ships, if you do not want to or are not inspired to do so.

cannot get enough of fathers loving their babies. A guy at the airport just picked up his little girl who was having a screaming tantrum and carried her off talking soothingly to her. The man in front of me at church the other week had his 3ish y/o son on his lap and spent the whole of mass just absentmindedly kissing the child’s head. Every few minutes he would just lean forward and give him a lil smooch. My brother is so mad about his daughter, she lights up and giggles whenever she sees him. She’s not even six months old but when he picks her up, she starts babbling and pressing her face into him as though she loves the way he smells. There’s something about it.

Do you want to help run an ANS event?
One of us, admins, is stepping down coming up, and we'd like to open up the chance (though it was open before, but we hadn't publicly said so), for a new or multiple new admins! So, if you have great ideas for brand new ANS events or always wanted to help put together a fandom event, now is your time!
Send either an ask to this page, and we'll answer you privately or a message. And we'll get back to you. The only required account other than a Tumblr (to help moderate and with putting together posts) is a Discord (to discuss prompts and do the other event planning).
Every person has unique experiences and thoughts to share, and right now, the only admins have been writers so it would also be super cool if someone who draws or makes fanmixes or cosplays or even just an observer steps up to share unique insights and help brainstorm prompts.
The admin who is stepping down will be around long enough to help any new mod get adjusted and also answer any questions, if you have any.
Note from the admin that is leaving: It's been a lot of fun brainstorming and working hard on events for all of you to participate in or discover later or even just witness. I have had a lot of fun, but a new chapter of my life is just around the corner.
Thank you all for making this such a fun time and for everything from supporting participants to actively participating and any offered advice or even answering questions on our poll! You, all, have made this a wonderful time. So, thank you!
