Some whatevers recently... First one was a redraw kinda of some old art, back a maybe month or so after sunbreak release I did a little uncoloured scribble in the same vein as those Go For It, Nakamura! meme/redraws circulating, thought to have a real(ish) crack at it. I couldn't find the original artwork I did though. Also don't look so close I drew kinda zoomed out it's probably a mess up in there hahaha.

My monster hunter character has #lore but I can't write it out they just exist as a series of images scenes and dream-like sequences in my head. No google document we rawdog the backstory. (He's in his 30s in these pictures)

I used to draw the younger version of my hunter with short hair like the second pic and in a set from toukiden, but it felt better to just go with the rajang high rank mixed set I used to use, with a longer hair style just to differentiate from his current look.

So Quillan's in his 50s! That's awesome, I don't see people do much with OCs that age, like they're usually just a side character. Because of that I had assumed Quillan was a mature, weathered 30s. Can I ask your thoughts on his body type? Is he a little soft in the middle from age, does he have scars (surgical, from accidents, battles or otherwise)? His relationship with Galleus seems so sweet too, I think about the art you did of them kissing under the banner pretty often! I saw you checked off that Galleus might spoil Quillan, do you mind elaborating?

Yeah I really love older characters! I think also because he did start out a lot younger (maybe mid-late 30s?) when I'd made him when Rise released, so he looks on the younger side now in his current design hahaha I don't blame you for thinking that, but yeah he's in his 50s now!

He's not the type to work out in his spare time much so he's strong from his work on the field, but not necessarily super toned/cut. I'm not quite good at showing it in my art nor do I have the knowledge to properly explain, but I'd say he's got more functional muscle. I thought about giving him scars, but on top of it being a bit of a hassle to draw every time, I'm the type of person to stress over every detail and it'd lowkey stress me out/I'd keep changing stuff HAHA He just has top surgery scars because he is transgener🏳️‍⚧️ and his brown eye is a prosthetic, if that counts for anything.

And... This is probably just me super projecting onto Galleus but I think Galleus is the type to get/make little gifts and stuff for the people he loves or cherishes. I always think about this short story where everyone's gifting Fiorayne little plush gifts and Galleus has a little handmade cohoot plush that he's too shy to give to her it makes me a little ill every time 😭 In my twisted world, he'd bring back fancy looking gifts from trips to the capital or wherever to give to Quill. Things that reminded him of Quillan while he was away, or because I kinda headcanon him to be someone that likes to do things like sew or wood-carve, he'd make little weapon pendants or room decos sometimes to give to him.

Thank you.. I think that piece I did with them under the banner was the first time I'd messed with angles and backgrounds in a while I was afraid it was a bit of a mess I'm glad it's ok 🥹 TY FOR THE ASK.

I feel like I'm really bad with impulse posting when I could probably just do a monthly dump and not clog up a semi-active character tag but I have no idea if there's etiquette for this or whatever.

Pokemon fun, teams'll most likely change again like they do every time I revisit this au but for now, I like their parties like this (not comp viable obv lol but I wanna make some doubles teams for them at some point)

The hydrapple on quill's team was evolved from the applin galleus gave him, from this old art it's a bit crusty lmao and the shiny tepig is there just because I had a friend gift me one in my sv playthrough and I got attached to it hahaha I've drawn him with it before too.

I've always seen galleus as a unova man so I thought to give him a couple unova mons, his team changes around a lot more than quills. I think some other good mons for him are perrserker (for his viking lineage) or like lapras or dewgong, because he loves that damn sea so much. I think ferrothorn was a bit of a stand out one but I just wanted to give him one, for fun, I like it. No other good reason sorry.

Anyway sorry for the yap I've been so pokepilled lately again because of pokerogue (I still haven't won a classic run)

Was not too happy with above ^ The pose and angle felt super awks but the idea was there and I don't think the lighting or background was too horrendous. Might come back to it or redo it when I feel motivated to again.
