What’s worse
To be endlessly waiting
To be endlessly waiting
What’s worse—nothing or nothing
What’s worse
What’s worse than nothing
What’s worse
No, what’s worse

I too seal off
passages to my heart like a besieged country,
cut losses, cut brothers, don’t look back
when I am lost in the forest.

I saw what you and Pike did to Lexa’s army. You killed everyone.

The moral of the series, for me, is to love everyone, even those who are different and have done something you don't necessarily believe in, but you still learn to forgive them. No one is perfect but everyone is worthy of redemption.
I grew up with the books. I was 14/15 when I first read City of Bones and I'm 22 now. I grew up with Clary, she showed me what is to be strong and powerful. To be a quiet bookworm and tomboy like me and to still have a voice. The story means so much to me. Every laugh, heartbreak and intimate moment helped to shape me into the young woman I am now.
I also love the show. There are some things I take issue with but it's a different medium and in the end I love seeing the incredible world Cassie created in a visual medium. The changes excite me and the small nuances of the characters coming to life... They all bring me joy.
It shouldn't be a war. War isn't the answer and I feel like people have missed the true heart of the series to be so angry about some things that are completely inconsequential. It makes me sad.
'Shadowhunters' fans are all united by one, beautiful thing. Our love for Cassie's stories. Whether we came to the show by book or simply stumbled across it, we're here because of the dynamic characters and heartbreaking stories. Let's remember that. We may have different ideas and come from different places, some may be a Simon and others a Camille, but the world of 'Shadowhunters' binds us all.
I'll end with some words from our beloved Cassandra Clare taken from 'City of Ashes':
'If you really love something, you never try to keep it the way it is forever. You have to let it be free to change'
