what to expect from OXENFREE 2 - Lost Signals

Story-driven light-horror game with choices that affect characters along the linear story.

Many characters from the first game appear here, now as adults and not as teenagers.

Your choices have some middle impact since it may affect the life of other characters, making them more zealots or skeptical, or even causing their death.

You walk along this game with a companion: Jacob. Most of the game has a strong focus on your conversations with him. 

The story works with some time loops and paranormal activity [in appearance, but I could call it more sci-fi oriented activity]

It has very few and very easy puzzles.

Fully voiced game with a nice voice acting.

Beautiful art and design, combined with a good choice in music. 

Warnings: pregnancy reference, suicide and self-harm references, alcohol abuse, mental trauma and abuse references.

You play as Riley, an adult woman and a recent employee in town, who has to install transmitters on the island in order to help the analysis of electromagnetic interference caused by the events that happened in the previous game and remained.

——- Gameplay? ——- 

It’s a game about story and conversation between characters, it’s mostly “walk” along the island, find the correct path to the place, while talking to your companion or eventual characters that may appear. Some of these interactions happen with a walkie-talkie you carry all the time.

——- Characters? ——- 

Riley, the protagonist; your companion Jacob, and a series of different minor characters you interact with throughout the island.

 ——- LGBT? ——-

None that I found

——- Sadness level? ——- 

None. But it brings some existential questions and also some reflections about life, adulthood, meaning in life and similar topics that may cause a level of sadness.

Happy ending, but some deaths depend on your choices.

Summary of the Karlach - Wyll - Astarion Avernus ending, because this is giving me such a headache. I'm a bit disappointed, but here we go:

1) if you play as Wyll, no romanced companion will go to Avernus with you and Karlach. I'll let you know if the dialogue at the epilogue is affected and the romance still holds;

2) if you play as Karlach you can ask your romanced companion to go to Avernus with you. Spawn Astarion can come to Avernus (epilogue currently bugged tho). Wyll won't come unless he's romanced. Ascended Astarion breaks up the romance when he ascended, unless you cheat/metagame your way and avoid long resting until the end;

3) if you play as Astarion it all depends on your ascension. If you play Spawn Astarion then Karlach will always die because the player is running from the sun when her scene triggers. If you play Ascended Astarion then you can go with her and Wyll to Avernus (or go alone).

4) if you play as another or as Tav, then you can go with Wyll and Karlach to Avernus. In case you romanced Astarion... I'll keep you posted on his epilogue.

Basically the good (Karlach survives and the romanced stay together) outcomes are:

- (karlach game) romance spawn astarion or Wyll

- (astarion game) ascend, romance karlach or wyll

- (wyll game) romance karlach

- (tav game) romance karlach or wyll

Given after six months it's implied that Karlach might soon return, I'll also add if the romance is kept in the epilogue in the cases Wyll alone goes with her. I know that if you play as Tav and Wyll-romanced goes Wyll will acknowledge you're still together. I'll let you know if: when you play as Tav and you go alone, would the romance be acknowledged? What if you romance Karlach and let Wyll go alone? And I think as Karlach you can go alone, but that might break up the romance.
