Justice in the Shadows
INT. LAWYER'S OFFICE - NIGHT
The office is dimly lit, with files and books scattered around. A tall, lean figure, MR. CLARK, stands by the window, looking out into the night.
MR. CLARK: (muttering to himself) Another one walks free... Not on my watch.
INT. DARK ALLEY - NIGHT
Mr. Clark, dressed in dark clothing, confronts a THUG, the person he had defended in court earlier that day.
THUG: (smirking) Thought you were my lawyer, not my executioner.
MR. CLARK: Justice has many faces. Yours just ran out of luck.
INT. LAWYER'S OFFICE - DAY
Mr. Clark is sitting across from a NEW CLIENT, who looks nervous and scared.
NEW CLIENT: I... I did what they say I did. Can you still help me?
MR. CLARK: (leaning forward) Tell me everything. The truth has a way of coming out, one way or another.
INT. DARK ALLEY - NIGHT
Mr. Clark confronts another guilty client, this one a WEALTHY BUSINESSMAN, who he had helped acquit on a technicality.
WEALTHY BUSINESSMAN: (begging) Please, you can't do this! I paid you!
MR. CLARK: (coldly) Your money bought silence, not absolution. Justice demands balance.
INT. LAWYER'S OFFICE - DAY
Detective JONES confronts Mr. Clark, suspicion evident in his eyes.
DETECTIVE JONES: Your clients... they have a habit of disappearing.
MR. CLARK: (smiling) Is that so? I'm just a lawyer, detective. I deal in legal outcomes, not moral judgments.
INT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE - NIGHT
Mr. Clark faces off against his most challenging opponent yet, a SERIAL KILLER he had unknowingly helped acquit.
SERIAL KILLER: (laughing maniacally) You think you're better than me? We're the same!
MR. CLARK: (steadying his weapon) There's one difference... I'm here to end this cycle.
INT. LAWYER'S OFFICE - DAY
Detective Jones returns, this time with undeniable evidence of Mr. Clark's vigilante justice.
DETECTIVE JONES: Got you, Clark. You're under arrest for the murders of...
MR. CLARK: (interrupting) The guilty. I did what the law couldn't. I gave them the justice they deserved.
DETECTIVE JONES: (handcuffing him) That's not for you to decide. Justice isn't a one-man show.
INT. JAIL CELL - NIGHT
Mr. Clark sits in a cell, a small smile on his face as he looks out the window at the moon.
MR. CLARK: (whispering to himself) Justice... in the shadows.
The screen fades to black.
