Op, open your eyes to other canon than BBC Sherlock. BBC is by far the worst example tbh considering the show runners assassinated 2 characters, one literally. And even tho they made the best version of Mary Morstan, fridged her in 3 episodes time.
Sebastian Moran has always existed in Sherlock lore, and even helped in the killing of Sherlock in Reichenbach Falls.
He is a badass character that 100% should have been in BBC series. Like Fr they had zero reason to exclude him when they added in: random spy shenanigans for Mary, and a random psychotic holmes sister that hates her brothers.
Yes, we gaslit ourselves into thinking he was in the show, and we fancast Michael Fassbender in his place (I'm new here so don't ask me) but he is 100% a real character and 100% Moriarty's right hand man.
He 100% is a sniper
He's a tactician
He took out a man eating tiger on his own, he crawled after it into a sewer in "6 days in the jungle" this encounter scarred his face and cost him his left nipple
It's so obvious why moffat and gatiss didn't include him: he would have been too popular, a long side Moriarty, they couldn't risk the sexual tension between the Irish criminal, the Napoleon of Crime himself and the sniper. If they added Colonel Sebastian Moran, the fandom would have *exploded* from the homoeroticism. But jokes on moffat.
We did it anyways.
fandom: hey, let's make up an oc to use in our fic! fandom: ...wait, they seriously didn't make our collective oc canon? fandom: this show fucking sucks

The biggest plot hole I have with the finale is how Luka, Jagged and Penny had some how during their travels become miraculous monks in training. Give me that episode how Master Su Han found Luka and to help protect him and his knowledge trained him. His dad and stepmom.

Saw a odd take here about Renfield, the movie and characters from the movie. That really confused me. Now, I'm not a gothic literature nerd like some of my friends, but this take seemed to be really upset that Renfield is friends with Awkwafina's cop character, even going as far as claim that they're in a romantic relationship in the movie?? I've watched the trailers a few times when they pass by my Twitter feed and I get ZERO romantic vibes between Renfield and Rebecca. At most it's buddy cop shenanigans. In the trailers the only vibe I'm getting from Renfield "I'm tired and I hate my boss" not "I want to do this random human girl I just met ;) ;) ;)" He comes off to me as asexual coded. Yeah? Must people make male friend and female friends must hook up, EVERY TIME? Can't they just be buddies and let Renfield REST? XD

Blocked from seeing this comment on this post
so here we are (don't you just love comment-then-block? Do you not realize you're talking to a brick wall at that point?)
Tumblr media
The reason we share our trauma in art or fics is because it helps put it out there and find people who can understand us. But you know what sites have? Tagging. We tag our stuff with the content so we can warn people the content. People have a way to filter those tags and block them. AO3, twitter, Tumblr all have filtering on certain words, phrases or tags so you don't have to see them!
If we tell you "this has x,y,z" and you click view anyways, how is that our fault?
Why do you go out reading stuff that has one of your squicks or triggers and then yell at us? Why do you come onto our 18+ priv accounts, screenshot our stuff, and then yell at us for doing things in private? We aren't the ones going out of our way to traumatize everyone. Sharing trauma with others creates something called "trauma bond" someone who's been in a similar situation as you that you can just find coping mechanisms thru the pain.
Keeping it quiet, keeping it inside, it festers, it eats at you. It hurts. Cuz sometimes not even the therapist can understand that specific trauma you went thru. They can sympathize, but they can't empathize.

While I agree with your post at large, I think a rephrase might be good? Instead of implying that BDSM irl is abusive, maybe just say that your specific situation turned out that way? BDSM, when done properly, is not abusive at all. And while I'm sorry it ended up that way for you, the implication that abuse is inherent to the kink itself is pretty harmful...
Fair point I'll fix that

Let me tell you about how fiction and reality can be separated in the simplest of terms!
When I was much younger, a naive person in my early early 20's I found a fascination reading bdsm fiction. It was my go to thing to read. To the point I thought I might enjoy being a part of the scene.
I was mistaken. I found my ex husband on a forum for it and we hooked up.
I found that I did NOT enjoy the scene irl. It was terrible. I wanted out. It ended up being severely abusive, unlike what real bdsm relationships can be, and it traumatized me.
But you know what? I still read bdsm. It's still my go to smut to read.
Because I'm able to separate the THEORY of bdsm from the PRACTICE. I would never ever in a million years participate in bdsm. But imagining being a part of it? Hell yeah!
As can any other adult proshipper. Just because we like things in THEORY doesn't mean we would ever do it in PRACTICE. It's NOT science!

OCS aren't humans that need protection. They aren't people with actual feelings or emotions outside of what the creator has them have. They're fictional characters that only exist outside someone's head because that person wanted you to meet them, not for you to "kidnap" or take custody.
not submission. I really hate the "My OC, my rules" thing. Cause like, no? Just because they are your oc doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with them. If you want to make your oc suffer and not like them get help, you deserve to lose rights over them. Especially if you only do that stuff to purposely trigger people. Once you do that, your oc no longer belongs to you. they belong to the public who will take better care of them instead
Making a comment to get this to post.

If you want to try to tell people about someone, how about trying to not exclude the full context? If you remove the context of course you can be made out to be the victim. But if you add in the full context and not cherry pick out phrases... Then who's the real victim?

I think anti's are definitely the strangest. Cuz if they'd have their way. Then every dynamic in shows like game of thrones or house of the dragon would be vanilla. Rather than ignore the "icky incest" ships they feel their time is better spent attacking people who enjoy stuff like that... And that's just boring sad life really

I drew these about a month ago, screenshot redraws from iwtv I have to say, Sam Reid’s symmetrical face makes it good practice to draw front facing portraits! Also so many complex expressions too!
