y'all: i swore i was going to romance a different character but favorite romancable character looked at me 🤦♀️ !!
my mentally ill ass: i have crafted specific characters and given them personality traits and values. while i do have a preferred favorite romancable character, this oc would not be interested in them because of reasons i made up in my head. i also prefer them with the other little guy i made in my head. i am essentially playing dolls by myself in my head
You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.
By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.
I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?
The Kickstarter campaign for Adventure Time: The Roleplaying Game has come to an end. After a month of stretch goals, social media polls, and a cacophony of other successfully deployed marketing tactics, the campaign has raised over $1.5 million for the game's development, far exceeding the deliberately pessimistic initial goal of only $100,000.
Cryptozoic have revealed a set of three special Kickstarter-exclusive cards to celebrate, and announced they will be hosting a livestream event when the game launches.
So what happens next? This is Cryptozoic's first foray into TTRPGs, as most of their previous projects have been card and board games. It was initially announced that they would be using a totally new roleplaying system called Yes And, until they hit the brakes on that idea and went with the more conventional and more marketable system of Dungeons & Dragons 5E. Early updates to the project indicated that they want to return to the Yes And system in a future Adventure Time project, but that's going to be a very long way off if it happens at all.
Between now and the game's projected release in March 2025, Cryptozoic actually have yet to fulfil a completely different Adventure Time Kickstarter project; the 10th anniversary edition of their physical version of Card Wars, currently set to ship out in September 2024. Whether or not that goes out on time will give us an idea of whether the TTRPG is also likely to stay on schedule.
Personally, I am looking forward to the release of the TTRPG, and I can't wait to see the characters and adventures that people come up with.
A huge crowd of pro-Palestine protests have gathered ahead of tonight's Eurovision semi-final in Malmö, where Israel will be one of the participating countries.
Israel's representing artist, Eden Golan—who was initially supposed to perform tonight with the song "October Rain," before the EBU forced Israel to rewrite it into the little less overtly genocidal "Hurricane"—has promised that the first thing she'll do after returning from Eurovision, is to join the IDF:
Reminder again to BOYCOTT EUROVISION 🇵🇸
And if you're in Malmö, please join the protesters!
you ever sit down and think about how uncle aaron treats miles in the moment that miles reveals his identity to him and how he puts his hands up and backs away and gives him an opportunity to escape and meanwhile gwen’s dad FUCKING TRIES TO ARREST HER
