stain log
one of my favourites. I really love my nail polishes (you’ll notice I’m wearing the Mint Candy Apple in this picture - highly recommended!)

I work on my own wreck this journal, so it's exciting to see your work! All your entries are great! I have to ask, do you plan your pages out ahead of time or do you just start working on it and just go with the flow?
Thanks! A bit of both - I planned a lot of the earlier ones, and some I just get random ideas and go with it. Right now I’m sort of ground to a halt working on the time consuming ones (collect fruit stickers, etc). Hope you’re enjoying your journal process!

How many pages do you do a day and how much at a time?
I work on it in bursts - sometimes I don’t do anything for weeks apart from sticking fruit stickers and grocery lists in, and then other times i’ll do a page a day for a week. It depends on what else is happening in my life at the time and if I’m inspired. It’s also quite hard now because I’m down to the pages that are more difficult to come up with ideas for or aren’t as fun. But I’m committed to getting it finished!

make a mess. clean it up.
I might like the first one more, to be honest. But colour coded bookshelves are a serious weakness for me.

cover this page with white things
another one I’ve been working on since I bought the journal. Lots of receipts here for buses, burgers, and flights. And a graduation tassel.

glue random items here
I've been working on this ever since I first got the journal, so this is almost a year of random items. Noteable items include: a media pass from Armageddon (New Zealand's Comic Con), a jigsaw from a Kinder Surprise, a tarot card, a Scooby Doo magnet, and my hair colour code.

I really enjoyed doing wreck this journal my self. I was a real anxiety reliever... Do you find this book a good way to calm yourself if your stressed??
Definitely. I have anxiety, and I find that just completing a page or working towards the completion of one helps settle my anxiety down and makes me feel like I've accomplished something. The idea of completing simple tasks and that there's no right or wrong way to do it is definitely wonderful for anxiety.

hide a secret message somewhere in this book
Now, I wonder where else I might find a bow in my book...

glue a random page from a newspaper here
I can almost never complete the crossword so clearly today was my lucky day. And then I wanted some sort of quote about puzzles or accomplishing things and snipped random headline words and ended up with this, which I quite like.

Crack the Spine
"Step on a crack, break your back. Step on a line, break your spine."
I’ve seen so many fantastic drawings for this page, and I wanted to try something a little different. It was also an excuse to experiment with perspective, as I’ve never tried before (throughout childhood, I basically only ever drew cartoon people and animals). I was going to colour it originally, but I think it looks better in black and white, and it’s a nice change from my last couple of pages.
And yes, I did proceed to crack the book’s spine. Much as it pained me to do so.

rub here with dirt
I loved doing this page - though I'll probably need to cover it with some clear contact fairly soon.

Hey! On your "crack the spine" page, how did you do the background? (sorry if its obvious, I dont know much about art techniques I just though that it was very pretty >_
hi there :) the background on that page was done through a method that was really popular when i was about twelve or thirteen, in which you used a sharpener to scrape the lead off the coloured pencil (kind of like sharpening it but not actually sharpening the wood bit) and then rubbed it with your finger to get that sort of swirly effect. very simple, very non-technical xx

Does the updated version of WTJ still have some of the same content as the original or is it completely different?
i haven't seen the original (i think i have the updated version? unless there's been an update since mine) but i'm pretty sure that my version, the one that says 'now with more pages to wreck' has all the same content as the original plus some extras. if i'm wrong, anybody feel free to jump in and correct me xx

sell this page
My dear friend himynameissamijane came to visit from another state a few days ago and we had a lovely day together during which I asked for her assistance in completing a few of my WTJ pages. I sold her this page in return for one day of her company (and what lovely company she was) and did up a proper non-refundable contract before tearing the page out for her. If she's willing, I'll get her to reblog this and attach a picture of the page after I tore it out.
In case you can't read it, this is the contract:
I, _______, hereby sell page two-hundred and three of my Wreck This Journal to _____, in return for _________. I relinquish all ownership of this page and agree to its removal if the purchaser so wishes. This purchase is non-refundable.
Signed:
________ (seller) ___________ (purchaser)

tear this page out. put it in your pocket. put it through the wash. stick it back in.
this was the second stage in finding out my incredibly cheap markers didn't actually bleed when exposed to water. also, i probably should have crumpled this instead of folding it. oh well. i like it.
