WOLF TRIBE TRADITION(s)
As when they are born, Yashitake-baba clears the crown of the babe; once they have come of age, she takes from them their ability to function ON THEIR OWN. This is multifaceted, and works to solidify the bond between the pack, and the individual; enclosing them back into the whole. Like how wolves will go through and scent-mark each other in a sort of celebration after a hunt, when a new member joins, or pups are born -- the pack will take the blinded child for one whole week from first light to the last. Each member will touch, guide and BE THERE for that pup; they won’t fight alone, walk alone, sleep alone or eat alone.
With the blindfold the child is entirely dependent upon the pack in order to function, a reflection of the pack’s ability. With the blindfolded child, the pack MUST come together in order to keep that child healthy, a reflection to all who witness, the truth of the individual.
This tradition serves to strengthen the bonds between the generations; this one specifically spans the gap between the strong to the young. It also teaches them how to hear and pay attention to sounds the eyes plug your ears too. To smells one would normally over-look because all of the other senses are too keen, combined. A practice that keep the senses from becoming too blended, and teaches them how to separate the senses without the use of a blindfold, or something physical to act as a trigger, especially if time is of the essence, or lives are at stake.

@daikusedai : *snickers*
Tumblr media
“Oji-ue.” Softly spoken, the click of metal claws as she lowered herself into a ready crouch; one hand placed firmly on the soil between her feet, the other raised with gleaming false talons spread wide. “....do you wish to fight me?”

you're just a liddle creacher. you cannot change this.
you probably have lots of trinkets and little objects that you like to fill your room with, and most of the time you find them in very odd places.
your dream is to disappear into the woods and become a chaotic entity that lives in it, possibly with the help of a lupine rodent companion.

@yashakami: didn’t ask for this, but i didn’t ask to be the middle child, yet here we are
Tiny claws extended, sharpening before blunting back; solid blue eyes watched in fascination; they were old enough now to be left alone for a decent amount of time, without one of two of their parents hovering. For the most part, Hibiki was babysitter enough for the three of them.
For short periods.
As it were, the electric stare of the child WITHOUT lightning abilities, reached out to curl tiny claws around the tail of the one WHO DID. The charge was in the air before anyone could react, and the only one who did was Hibiki; but it was only a twitch of awareness. Stationed in place as lightning cracked tiny webs of light through the air. Someone screamed, but Ahmya didn’t make a sound as volts swept through her body, singing down to the ends of her blue/black hair.
Hibiki began to bark and whine, rising up form his stretched out position but Ahmya merely stood where she was for a moment. “.... ite...”

what are you the deity of?
patron of tough love.
Tumblr media
let it be known: you do not stand by and approve of those who actively seek to hurt the ones they claim to love. but just because it is love, does not mean that it will always be soft.
think of how a pack of wolves operate: strategic, deliberate, protective, entirely capable of ripping out throats and still raising their young with a burning love. think of the promise of safety in such a group, but also the devastation, should you betray its loyalty and upheave the order in place.  you are the god of temperance, of caretakers, and of all those who must carry the weight of responsibility, even when it threatens to crush them dead. god of bending and enforcing rules, god of fair trial and punishment, god of breaking vicious cycles.
protector of older siblings and of soft things needing thicker skin. deliverer of hard-fought clarity in a fit of rage, weaver of reason into discipline. you teach them how to be strong, to be consistent, in a world that demands them to choose cruelty.  the grantor of armistice at the end of a long war,
the one who blesses the hardened                        and makes them rest.

Hibiki  響 (hibiki) meaning "sound, echo".
With Ahmya’s first cries came the howling of a new wolf; joyous in the cacophony of the Eastern Tribe, this newcomer brought silence in the wake of his advance.
The newborn cried, and the Old Wolf howled.
