I mean? Technically? I’ve done strutting turkeys, but I have yet to do a male/female pair with the male displaying, regardless of species.

I’d love to do one if I got the chance! Most of my customers don’t appreciate hens though 😔

Park attendant and my favorite question so far has been "are there snakes?" In a natural creek. Yeah dawg I dunno why don't you stick your hand in the tree roots and find out lol

the zoo was.. FINE. it was fine. i realize now it’s impossible to be perfectly happy there as an animal unless you’re an educator or it’s a weekday at 11 am and no one is there.

i liked taking photos a lot, but i was happiest talking to educators. people were ignoring this older woman at the prehistoric california exhibition and i stood there and talked to her about bones and biodiversity for upwards of 10 minutes and her face just lit up. i’m the kind of person who makes zero detours at the zoo because i need to run and see every animal but i was so content to be talking with her. i wish i was being paid for talking about everything i know about zoology!!!!

i think part of why i dislike it so much is because i do not work here. or at least, i am not in a position where it is my job to correct people or tell facts about animals. sometimes i get “big camera privileges” where the older zoologists show me around to the nicest spots to take pictures, or people will listen to me ramble just because i always have the camera to my face, but that’s about it.

and like, it’s a zoo. i know. it’s conservation and education oriented, but it’s still a zoo. only a small minority of people go there because they’re zoologists or nonhumans or whatever. but people just say the most inane things and i have to listen for it for hours and just be like “it’s not my place…”

including myself, there were 5 alterhumans actively fronting at the time.. and so whenever we got to our choice exhibits, we came thinking we could sit there for hours. until we’d start hearing stuff like “that’s just a house cat.. (about a puma)”, “is that a squirrel (about a mongoose)”, “this is biologically a mouse mixed with a cat (about a serval)”. forget nonhumans. i think that would drive any biologist up the wall to listen to for 8 hrs

People have been talking about the need to discuss non-kin alterhuman experiences so here's a quick ramble about my otherheartedness and the peculiar dysphoria that's been difficult to treat that accompanies it for me.

Otherheartedness for me is... interesting. It's far more of an emotional experience than being otherkin, honestly. In both good ways and bad.

It's peace and wonder because they are something that is real, whether as a flesh-and-blood creature or as a well-loved concept often honored in art and writing. It's being able to look at them (or even bask in thier presence if they're Earthen) for hours on end without being bored. It's feeling as though your love for them forms a core part of your identity and you wouldn't be You without it.)

It's feeling a hole within because no matter what efforts you make to claim thier beauty as your own you will never truly Become, never be able to see yourself as one in a way that feels natural and effortless (I still claim them as link types but the dissonance is probably always going to be there and it Hurts). It's surrounding yourself with thier shape in the form of figurines, art, jewelry, even clothing (good old Mountain T Shirts before thier quality fell off a cliff...) to feel a bit of thier power and presence and hope that in some way, somehow, some of it will finally rub off on you and calm that yearning itch in your mind.

I just had to abandon a full cart of groceries and completely waste a long shopping trip because the stores computer went down and they couldn't scan my stuff can we PLEASE go back to analog systems and physical machinery can we please rip computers back out of everything that worked perfectly fine without them

I think a system thing that fails to be represented is how difficult basic hygiene can be, simply because mirrors are so scary. it's hard to look at a reflection that isn't yours, acknowledge a body that isn't yours. it's very easy to skip out on things that most people consider easy, like showering or brushing your teeth or washing your face. it's tough, and it's valid to be freaked out by it. go easy on yourself

all goofing aside I genuinely don't understand the urge to reimagine Taylor Allison Swift as a secretly queer icon when the pop music scene(TM) is like. literally overflowing with women who actually like women. Gaga and Kesha and Miley and Halsey are right there. Rina Sawayama and Hayley Kiyoko and Rebecca Black and Kehlani and Victoria Monét and Miya Folick if you're willing to get slightly less top 100. Janelle and Demi for them nonbinary takes on liking girls. like what are we doing here. like I'm not even saying you can't enjoy Taylor but why would you hang all your little gay hopes on her.

DO NOT buy listings like these on Etsy.

it may be obvious to some, but these sellers are buying sticker packs with stolen art from Temu and are reselling them for way more than they got them for. i have censored out their shop names as i don't want hate sent their way, but no one should be reselling people's art. i personally can recall some of the artists' art in the listings, but not their names.

if you happen to know any of these artists, please let them know! if you happen to BE one of the artists they're stealing from, i suggest you report the listing!

here is some of the listings on Temu that these people are buying from. DO NOT BUY THESE EITHER! these are ALL stolen art. unfortunately i don't know if you're able to claim that your art was stolen on Temu :( if you could, i'd imagine it's a hard process.

you could also say "what if the people selling on Etsy don't know that the art is stolen?" considering they bought it off of Temu, an app notorious for stealing people's art and selling low quality products, this is hard to argue. i personally think they know what they're doing.

there is also the fact that people reselling things they have bought for a more expensive price is common practice (maybe not good morally), but these listings also HEAVILY affects people who ACTUALLY sell THEIR therian stickers on Etsy. (AKA me and many other small therian bussinesses they have stolen from.)

TLDR: DO NOT buy listings like these on Etsy (or Temu), they are FILLED with stolen art. please go support the actual artists who made these designs!

if i ever find or am told about the artists that were stolen from, i will add links to their shops down here!

I’ve noticed a correlation between NPD and nonhumanity on this site, especially while interacting with NPD spaces, and I’ve seen a slight correlation with other PDs as well. I wanted to make a poll just to see if I can get a little more data on this. (I know Tumblr polls are inherently very biased, but I’m still going to make the poll)

CLARIFICATIONS: If you have NPD and a different PD as well, choose the NPD option. PD stands for Personality Disorder, and NPD stands for Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

This is my first time doing a poll, so it may not be the most polished or whatever (it’s also 4AM when I’m posting this)

Also, the option that applies to me is that I have NPD and am nonhuman
