This is our RideStaffs 2016 Indiegogo project. I hope you can support it
Cycling is a funny old sport. It’s one where fans don’t expect to pay for the experience and at my end of the food chain, neither do the teams that participate, or the TV channels that screen our event.
So because we’re a bunch of crazy fools here at Leadout Cycling, instead of jacking it all in and organising a sportive instead, we decided to organise a sportive as well  in order to make up the shortfall of what can’t be raised through sponsorship.
But thing is, it turns out that even that isn’t enough.
So I’m asking the fans to do something for themselves this year. Here’s the deal
I bring the bike race
I bring the big screen
The fans finance live pictures of the bike race for the screen.

The iconic Shimano neutral support cars, as seen in some of the biggest races in the world, will be on route providing technical assistance for riders at RideStaffs in 2016. The vehicles are provided through Madison UK and we’re humbled and hugely grateful that they’re supporting us this year.

Hey, you! Could you be eating your way to better cycling?
Tumblr media
Have you ever wondered whether what you're eating could be affecting how you're riding?
This week we ran a seminar with Annie Simpson of OTEsports where she talked about some of the things you can do every day to make every bike ride more enjoyable.
We filmed Annie's answers to some of the questions asked by sportive riders like you, so if you've ever wondered about any of the folllowing, just click on the question below to go straight to the answer!
Hope your training for ridestaffs2016 is going well, please get in touch if there's anything about the 2016 festival you'd like to know today!
What are the best snacks to pick up in the Supermarket so you can eat well at work?
Should you wait until the event us underway before you start consuming carbs?
How does weighing myself before and after a training session help me to understand my fluid needs?
Shoud I really be eating lots of carbs, even on a medium intensity ride?
How much Carbohydrate should we be consuming after rides to help us recover effectively?
What are the simplest habits sportive riders can adopt to improve their performance?
Hope you enjoy these, if you do, please share them with your friends and fellow riders!
Best regards
Paul and the Leadout Team

As part of the build up to RideStaffs in July, we ran a sportive nutrition seminar at local bike shop Mammoth Lifestyle. As well as the 20 people in the room who participated and engaged with one of our new sponsors OTE SPORTS on the night, we’ll reach hundreds more because we filmed the Q&A from the end of the session to share on our YouTube channel tomorrow. Check out youtube.com/ridestaffs to see the results.

Hi, I’m Paul, RIdeStaffs is all my fault.
The story begins in the late 1980’s with me sitting in front of the TV and it's the Tour de France that has me enwrapped as the American with the French name takes on the bespectacled Frenchman in a ding dong battle that remains branded onto my imagination till the present day.
A love affair with the sport of cycling is forged and from then on I know that this sport will define who I am. I imagined then that the hours I spent on a bike would one day lead me to a career in the sport like the one’s I watched on the TV.
Fast forward 17 years, I’m not a pro-cyclist nor have I been one, I’m something I didn’t really know existed 17 years ago. I’m a bike race organiser and RideStaffs is my bike race and my living. It embodies what I think bike races should be and how I think people should deal with one another, it's authentic, it's me.
I’m proud that I can consider many of the people who work on and sponsor RideStaffs my friend and I’m proud of what I’ve created with those friends. What we do drives over £100,000 worth of spend in the local economy in just 2 days each year. I hope that as my daughter becomes old enough to understand a little of what I do, that it makes sense to her and feels like a life well lived.
RideStaffs exists because I think cycling has something to offer for everyone.
RideStaffs exists because I think cycling has something to offer everyone and this event is how I go about proving that to the world.
RideStaffs exists because I think Staffordshire has something to offer the world
RideStaffs is the best way I can think of to bring together the people who can prove that to the world.
I’m writing this because I think RideStaffs is worthy of your attention, so if you're ready to join me for the ride, come and find me.
