waking your f/o up from a nap by cuddling up and spooning them from behind. you whisper their name softly, kissing against the back of their neck and running your hand along their back, then down their side. they grumble under their breath, making small, cute noises of protest as you slowly wake them. they finally open their eyes and turn to face you, their hair disheveled and their expression sleepy. you can't help but smile and kiss them.

as much as i love the idea of my f/o standing up for me and dealing with my issues with others, i know they can’t do it forever (even though i’m sure they would in a heartbeat)

so imagine your tough f/o training you to be more confrontational with others and stand up for yourself! slowly getting it into your mind that you’re worth it and you deserve to be respected.

when someone does something that’s a bit iffy to you or downright disrespectful, maybe you’re f/o will whisper to you, “tell them how that makes you feel.” or if they are the really confrontational type, they’ll be more direct: “tell them to stop talking to you like that.”

but they understand if you get too nervous or way too stressed about it. they’ll always be there just in case to help you out if needed. they care about you after all ♡

the softness in their voice made you smile as you hugged your f/o back, feeling more at peace with them. you felt safe, you felt reassured, but most of all, you felt happy. your f/o will always be there for you- no matter the relation; romantic, familial, platonic- what matters most is they get to see you smile. you will get through this, tomorrow will be a new day.

Maybe they're just arriving home and they can't wait to join you, trying to get ready for sleep as quietly as possible. You can hear drawers opening and closing, the sink running. See the light from the next room cascading on the floor. Maybe you sleepily stare at the shadow of your F/O brushing their teeth or pulling off their shirt. Safe and warm. Almost nostalgic. Knowing that they're near. Sitting in the pleasant fog of drowsiness while someone you love is preparing to come lay with you. And then the distant light flicks off. For a moment you almost miss it, the certainty of where they were... the intimacy without touch. But the second that their weight sinks into the bed, and their warmth graces your back, those feelings dissipate like smoke.

They mumble a "goodnight" in case you're awake.
