A couple of months ago I posted something about how we shouldn't care about what other side of the fandom think and do.

I said that it's weird that y'all specifically go to tiktok or reddit or other social medias to find out what they think and prove them wrong.

And they reblogged my post with this long ass quote about how people are intitled to do whatever they want and this is normal and how back in twilight era they had the same problem and this situation between these two group is absolutely normal...

I have no idea why they think if it's normal it also mean it's right? You're tiring people. The fact that I unfollowed both elucien and gwynriel tags bc of the amount of anti e/riel tags there.

And when I also said this they were like you should filter the tag if you don't want to see it.

So many people agreed with that person which is disheartening... they genuinely believe they have no part in making this fandom more toxic and they're doing the right thing. But they are all a bunch of hypocrites...

I blocked most of those people instead of filtering the tag lol. Bc I don't want to go into G and E tags and witness half of the post hidden and the other half isn't tagged properly lmao

For a lot of people, being here has absolutely nothing to do with liking the ship. Or, it does, but its secondary to being right. And the minute you realize that there is a small, vocally obnoxious group on all ends of the shipping spectrum that are more obsessed with being "right" than the community the rest of us have built, you'll have a little peace.

Like how many of them can't wait until they get "proof" so they can harass people on the opposite end? They think, genuinely, that SJM confirming the ship will drive all the people they hate out and FINALLY they'll have...what?

Nothing. Because if all the people who ship your anti-ship are gone, you're irrelevant.

But in the meantime they'll suck out the enjoyment everyone else is trying to have and scream about how it's their right to be utterly joyless on the internet, even when it directly affects the rest of us just trying to mind our own business, because they DO NOT CARE about the community itself.

There was time to back out if he wanted. Lucien might have if he’d been a coward, but he wasn’t. He was going to see Eris crowned Emperor if it was the last thing he did- and it might be. Beron wasn’t known for being merciful. In one particular instance of lunacy, Beron had decided to wage war with Neptune himself, marching an army all the way to the shores of Britannia only to slash at the sea with his sword.

That had been Lucien’s final breaking point. He’d read the report through clenched teeth and decided right then and there that he’d had enough. Beron made a mockery of Rome’s greatness and threatened to undo everything their predecessors had worked for. Lucien would be damned if he let the Empire fall to ruin when there was a simple fix.

Someone needs to write an archaeology AU of Elain being and archaeologist and then being transported in time and meeting Lucien. That someone will not be me.

(I can fact check archaeology knowledge tho as I am an archaeologist)

73- Stranded Due to Inclement Weather & 94- Hair brushing/braiding 😩🥵

Oh this is a great one. It involves my favorite tropes, which is forced proximity and also soft, intimate touching. Here is the idea that came to mind.

Lucien and Elain are on a ship to the Continent, perhaps to Vallahan or to start their adventure against Koschei. It’s a secret mission for obvious reasons so that’s why they did not winnow there with assistance. Let’s throw in the added tension of having to pretend being a married couple because why the hell not. This isn’t a trip of luxury. This is urgent, necessary, and they must be incognito. Therefore they book cheap passage in whatever they can find. Which, to both of their horrors, is in the form of tiny little bunk beds in shared spaces.

They make it work. Even if they’re back-to-back on the tiny little top bunk bed they’re sharing, doing their absolute best to not be awkward. Then their ship hits a gods-awful storm. The kind that rocks the entire ship, water is leaking everywhere, lightning and thunder shake the room. Crashing waves that make you feel sick. Everyone is tense and afraid. One particular terrifying strike of lightning and groan of the ship has Elain turn over suddenly to face Lucien.

She’s almost mortified. But fear trumps embarrassment. Lucien doesn’t miss a beat. He pulls her into his arms.

With her ear pressed against the drum of his heartbeat, she finally feels safe. Her head is tucked under his chin, but he absentmindedly finds himself brushing her hair, running his fingers through the long curls down her back. Maybe that action alone makes him feel safe.

They fall asleep like that, in each other’s arms, even after the storm passes.

hello 👋 as someone newer to this fandom it can be so daunting and kind of idk nerve wracking to write fic because of the current atmosphere. i love these books and i love these characters and i love elucien, and I’m so excited to write and put stuff out there and then i look at the tags and i get so worried about it 😭 BUT it’s so nice seeing your masterlist and slowly going through your fics (52??? i’m shook, absolutely legendary), it’s nice and hopeful!!! sorry to bother you with this, it’s just been on my mind lately i guess 🩷

I mean this so genuinely- I hope you write whatever you want, anyway. You'll NEVER please everybody, so you shouldn't try. The people who won't like what you write wouldn't like it even if you wrote it to their exact specifications. TRUST ME. Like, 52 elucien fics later, you have to trust me on this one. You could write it perfectly, could hit the notes beat by beat and people would still find fault with it.

So write the story you're passionate about and trust the right people will find it, love it, and love you for it. I've had other eluciens say some pretty nasty stuff about me, ignoring all the other ships I've written for where people have gone into the comments and left vile comments they'd never say if they had to look me in the eyes while doing it.

I'm not gonna pretend it doesn't suck, but I think that's true of every endeavor you'll undertake. I hope you write something elucien focused anyway and I hope you tag me when you're finished so I can heap praise on your head. It's a vulnerable thing, writing. You put pieces of yourself into it and pray no one rejects you. There is something brave about that.
