Btw before I even started Star Trek, I was convinced I would HATE Kirk.

I worked for 2 years and a half on a stage production of Fight Club, and during the preliminary stage of script adapting we developed an inside joke about the line where Tyler says he'd beat the shit out of William Shatner and captain Kirk. I had absolutely no idea of what was going on in Star Trek, but we just loved to trash on Kirk for no reason.

From what I heard from the two people working on said stage productionwho sort of watched Star Trek as kids, I imagined Kirk as an arrogant misogynist with a superiority complex. Basically I imagined him as Tyler Durden who I absolutely despise for serveral reasons.

BUT THEN I ACTUALLY STARTED STAR TREK!!!! AND OMG!!!!! Jim my beloved he's such a comfort character. I kin my softcore babygirl so much he's such a good little kitten can do no wrong ever and I'm so sorry for my initial misconception

as someone who figured out i was queer only because i fell in love with my best friend without realising it i'm gonna need some of you to get off your weird high horse that has somehow decided that someone discovering their sexuality via their love for someone else is not valid or good representation or whatever the fuck some of you are banging on about like yeah i am not queer because of that person but they did in fact play a very significant part in my journey of self-discovery and that's actually okay you fucking weirdos it's not even uncommon and yes this is about eddie diaz like "eddie's sexuality shouldn't be about buck" well actually it can be like he's absolutely allowed that journey sometimes you fall in love with your best friend and have to re-evaluate everything you thought you knew about yourself because of those feelings for that person some people are only able to begin to comprehend their sexuality through their relationship with someone else and considering eddie's background that actually makes the most sense so like i get where you're coming from but also no <3

When I was first diagnosed with ADHD it was quite early in the diagnosis period (I was the only kid in my school who was diagnosed). So I've lived this weird experience where at the beginning of my life no-one believed that I had it/thought it wasn't a real thing in spite of the fact that my parents had to write a special letter to the government to get approval for me to receive medication. To now where so many people are diagnosed that when I mention it everyone dismisses it like it doesn't have a real world impact on me or that I was diagnosed by way of some meds first doc. I went through 6+ months of extensive medical tests as a young child to confirm this.

adhd symptoms are always just mild enough to seem fake but just severe enough to make everyone on planet earth think you’re an asshole for having them. not a big fan of this paradox tbh
