"Jesus, these things are going to fill my lap in another couple months. I say, 'It won't be so funny if my spine snaps and I wind up paralyzed!' I try to tell them I don't want to wind up paralyzed, but they say it's not really a big deal and I'll be able to live a perfectly fulfilling life, that their research is what's important.
