This is genuinely the same thing in my (AA) family. My step dad adores my mother and vice versa. My dad's side is very matriarchal in which my granny is the head of household. My dad told us that even if he isn't with our mom, he's still gon be there. Not only are men scared of the vulnerability that comes with being a living, breathing being and then labeling it 'gay', but the epidemic of young kids growing up with these 'role models' and the things they joke about is INSANE.

Had a discussion with the homie on friday, about how fucking weird men are right now. His whole family is Liberian (he's born here) and is extremely matriarchal. I grew up with a Dad who adored my mom and in a house where everything was 50/50. Neither of us could really understand how and why men hate women SO MUCH.
