The joke that the bats see their contingency plans as a form of love is super fucking funny, don't get me wrong but honestly they probably do see it as that cause they just forget to say the second part out loud.

They come from gotham where mind altering substances are basically everywhere. One of the most profound ways a gothamite could say 'i care about you' is admitting to having a plan to disarm/capture you in the case you go off the deep end, so that they could then get you a cure.

I honestly get so fucking mad when people act like Bruce’s no-killing rule and iron conviction that everybody can get better is something dumb. Like why does everybody hate kind characters so much?? What’s wrong with being a good person? It’s not stupid or childish or naïve, and in a cruel world, it takes one heck of a lot of courage to be kind.

I think it would be funny if Alfred was a TikTok cat (tm) but the account wasn’t run by Damian it’s run by Tim and Duke and it’s just chronicling the insane shit that Damian trains Alfred to do because she’s so food motivated.

The most popular video is Duke secretly filming Damian as he commands Alfred to steal Tim’s bag of chips while he’s not looking. Damian accepts the bag, pulls a treat out of his pocket for Alfred, and pulls Alfred into his lap while munching on chips. Duke is trying not to lose it in the background causing the camera to shake.

Maybe it's because I got into DC stuff late via Batfam fan stuff and Stephanie stuff (StephCass if we're being honest), but I feel like if you're a fan of Stephanie Brown or Cassandra Cain you have like, an 85% chance of being a fan of the other. A PB&J situation, if you will. They don't have to go together but BOY DO THEY.

(Also my spiral into DC and being a Stephanie Brown fan I partially have you to thank for so, thank you. You rock.)

I'M SORRY THIS TOOK ME SO LONG TO REPLY TO but yes 100% agree like I got into batfam primarily for Cass but Steph was so charming in their issues together that I was like oh her. I like her a lot.

Like both have so much going on outside each other that's fascinating to dive into but it also all feeds into their dynamic with each other in a way that when written well can just be so fun to explore. Two fully formed characters in their own right that when combined can cause so much chaos and so many emotions and I love them for it.

Like there are certain comic book characters that when they're a dick to my faves it drags down my enjoyment of them, often because they're not being written deliberately as a dick they're just the writer's specialist little boy and he thinks this is a good way of showing how cool his male fave is. Meanwhile with Steph and Cass (and Babs back in batgirl 2000) I always felt like the tension and conflict between the three of them made me like them all even more. It was fun to explore! Everyone was so mean to Steph for no good reason but the batgirl writers I feel like had the most self awareness about this not being a Steph flaw but a Cass flaw, if that makes sense? Whereas so many other writers of that era... yeah I won't even get into that now.

But anyways yes. They're both such good characters and I can't wait to infiltrate DC and write my Cass road to Batman storyline which includes her tackling her past with Steph.
