In a move designed to strengthen the local economy, Ghanshyam Sarda, the leader of the Sarda Group of Industries, has solidified plans to construct a training facility for new jute industry workers.Headquartered in Kolkata and with operations throughout West Bengal, the Sarda Group of Industries is a diversified conglomerate. The group holds assets in jute, real estate, and information technology, boasting a turnover of Rs. 2,000 crore.  They currently operate eight jute mills producing more than 500 tonnes of jute products daily.  Furthermore, they are investing approximately Rs 100 crore in a new jute mill located in Alwar, Rajasthan.
