Red // Chapter Four
Pairing: Peter Parker x reader
Summary: You are an assassin who was trained and raised in the Red Room. When a mission went sideways, you were unwillingly rescued by the Avengers who want to get rid of your assassin nature and join them. Luckily, you had a familiar face to turn to, Nat. On the other hand, you have to stay with a certain awkward spider boy who had begun creeping into your heart and unlocking something you didn’t think you were capable of feeling anymore. Love.

A/N: I know I haven’t been updating, but I’ve been really busy lately! Hopefully you like this chapter because the next one will have a lot of Peter and reader interaction. Throw me a reblog or a like, it really helps me out!
The light had long since disappeared from the window in the bathroom, and the last stray droplets of water dripped down from the shower head and fell onto your curved spine.
Your arms were wrapped around your legs, pulling them into your chest, and your head rested on your knees. The shower had been turned off long ago.
Hours ago.
You had to admit - it was nice. The warm cascading shower of clean water, May’s shampoo that smelt of lavender, easing your sore muscles and washing the grime clean.
It was nice, yes.
But very, very foreign.
You felt as if you had been remade; like the blood and dirt on your skin was a life that had been stripped from you, your assassin life.
And now you were just a teenage girl.
You turned your head to look at the dagger in your hand - you could never be too careful, even in the shower. The gem glittered under a sheen of water and a few haphazard bubbles.
You looked at it carefully, wiping the shampoo off with the pad of your thumb., then absentmindedly flipped it over in your hand.
What time was it?
If you arrived at around five in the afternoon, found your bearings, then went to shower. The shower lasted around fifteen minutes, and you had been sitting on the tiles for at least four hours.
If that seems drastic to others, you would have thought it a mere sit down. You had once perched on a branch for weeks, waiting on intel.
Four hours was easy.
Now, if it was four hours, you should take into account that you talked to him for half a second.
Ah yes, him.
That teenage boy, the one who saved your life, the one who made you feel so damn small, the one with the pretty hair and the pretty lips-
You paused to chide yourself.
Was it the lavender shampoo turning you into some romantic?
Well, you’re not going to talk to or have any form of relationship with that boy, anyway.
