Part 1/3: High School AU
Three words. High. School. AU.
Alex is, of course, the quarterback of the gridball team. Cocky, yet sweet, he has many ladies (and a couple of guys) falling for his charms.
However, he has a very dark secret. His father isn't a very a nice man, and his home life is an absolute wreck.
The only thing that keeps him going is his mother, knowing he must protect her at all costs.
His best friend, Haley, captain of the cheerleading squad, is the only one who knows and tries to help him out by pretending to be his girlfriend.
Other than that, though, he has a pretty good life, and he likes it, for the most part.
But that all changes when a new transfer student arrives at Zuzu City High.
At first, Alex didn't think much of the new guy. Sure, he was a new face, but he wasn't the type of guy to pick on people because they were new.
However, it all started when he saw him in the decimated school garden, smiling softly as he watered some tulip seeds and humming a song Alex never heard of.
Alex didn't know it, but that was the beginning of his new life.
From then on, Alex found himself wandering over to the school gardens to see how the guy was doing, occasionally offering to help if needed.
The guy was surprised, but very grateful, and soon the garden was blooming with beautiful flowers every season.
This began a new tradition, that every week, on any two random days, the guy would give Alex two flowers that bloomed from the garden as gifts.
Alex liked it, but because of his reputation, he gave the flowers to Haley instead, who loved them, especially the sunflowers!
The more time Alex spent with the "farmer" (as he tended to call him), the more he felt his heart stutter and his face flush like crazy.
One day, he brought them to the giant lake (almost like an ocean) in the school to throw the gridball around, and chuckled quietly at the farmer's lack of gridball skills.
"He's so cute."
Wait, what, I did not think that.
His heart fluttered in his chest, and after the farmer confessed his belief in him being able to go professional in gridball, it threatened to leave his chest with how fast it was flying.
He felt on top of the world, that even his father's drunken shouts couldn't bring him down.
However, on one rainy day, his entire life got turned around.
His beloved mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.
His father, on that same day, left the family forever, his drunken self taking his belongings and just leaving the family like that.
When his mother went to sleep like Alex suggested, he just...ran.
He ran all the way to Zuzu City High on a weekend, and ran to the little clearing, where he knew Dusty, his beloved stray dog would be hiding in his little box and just...cried and let his feelings out.
He didn't notice the farmer was there until he had already spilled something out, and he spilled out the whole story. The abuse, the cancer, everything.
The farmer held Alex, steadying him and being his rock.
For the first time since all of this happened, Alex smiled.
"Hey, wanna see what Dusty would do for a barbecued steak?"
Alex now took care of his mother, making sure she had everything she needed.
The farmer helped too, and the flower garden soon became a garden full of fresh produce that turned into all manner of juices and jams that made a pretty penny in the farmer's market.
All the money went to Alex, as well as two flowers, one for him and one for his mom, twice a week.
Alex was forever grateful for the farmer's help, and couldn't help but talk (read: gush) about him to his mother, who simply smiled and listened to his son's stories.
However, this began taking its toll on Alex, whose grades were on the brink already.
The farmer stepped in once again, tutoring Alex to raise his grades, where Alex confessed his fear of reading and his secret: he had dyslexia.
"Just the thought of cracking one [book] open makes me nervous."
However, the farmer was nothing if not patient and kind, so together, they helped Alex get his grades up.
Part 2 Coming Soon!

Gosh Diddly Darn, Another Headcannon!
So, this is actually for my friend @sdvbachelors because I came up with it for them. Enjoy, friend. 💜💜💜
The farmer is a lightweight.
The first time Alex decided to give them any alcohol was on their wedding anniversary, where he decided it was necessary to celebrate with a Iridium Bottle of Sparkling Strawberry Wine, made by his beloved's precious hands, keg, cask and strawberries fresh from the farm.
Now, Alex HATES alcohol.
It brings back bad memories of his father, so he doesn't even touch the stuff.
But on this special day...yeah, they should celebrate.
However, the minute they cheer and the farmer downs their first glass, Alex noticed the tell-tale signs of drunkeness.
Flushed cheeks? Check.
Hazy eyes? Check.
Slightly dizzy movement? Check and mate.
At first, Alex is frozen in fear, terrified of the farmer doing something like his father.
Sure, the farmer was nothing like his father.
But being drunk changes people.
Alex sees the farmer walking towards them and flinches.
He readies for a strong blow to the head or a slap to his face.
But then...the farmer giggles.
Alex opens one of his eyes to see the farmer, cheeks red and eyes wide, to see the farmer covering their smile with their hand, giggles tumbling out of their mouth.
"L-Lexy...what does a football say to another ball who owes them twenty-five cents?"
Alex is so confused, where was the pain?
"W-Wha...?"
"Hey, give me my quarterback!"
The farmer gives out the loudest laugh he's ever heard them give, and nearly tumbles to the ground in their laughter.
"Get it??? Quarterback???"
Alex nearly loses it at the realization.
The farmer was a giggly drunk.
Alex starts laughing at the farmer's corny joke, and the farmer looks at them, cheeks redder than a tomato.
"Lexy..."
Alex wipes a tear from his eye and looks at his beloved who was looking at him strangely.
"Yeah?"
"You are so adorable when you laugh."
Alex's cheeks go pink, but the farmer doesn't even notice, now babbling at a mile a minute.
"Well, you are always really cute. Your eyes are like emeralds when you look at me, all green and sparkly like gemstones. And your smile, it makes me a gooey mess when you smile at me. And you are so strong, and cool, and courageous, but sweetly shy at the same time, and you are just sweet in general, and kind and loyal and..."
Alex at this point is about to combust, his face is so red.
Seems the farmer is a giggly honest, flirty drunk.
As the farmer yawns and rubs their eyes, they go over to Alex and just plop down in his lap, cuddling closer and breathing in his scent, making him go red all over.
"So warm..."
And so, Alex tucks them into bed and goes to sleep on his side, noting how his spouse has crossed over and is now cuddling him like a koala, limbs holding him tight and not letting go even as they both fall asleep.
And for the first time, Alex wants to drink again.

Wow, It's A Headcannon!
So I just had like the most adorable little headcannon ever and I COULD NOT JUST KEEP IT IN AND NOT SHARE IT WITH YOU LOVABLE PEOPLE
I love all of my followers so very much! You guys are the best!!! :DDD
Anyway, on with the adorable fluffiness.
Alex and the Farmer have met before.
They were just too little to remember.
The farmer used to live in his grandfather's farm when they were just born with their parents, and they were just about four when they had to leave their grandfather's farm due to their grandfather's unfortunate passing and because their parents believed that they all needed a new, fresh start in the city.
Alex visited his grandparent's house every summer, back when his mother was still alive and before his father became the man Alex remembers, until the visits suddenly stopped when he was about five, which was when his dad was fired and he sadly descended into alcoholism.
Evelyn and George visited the farm a lot to chat with the farmer's grandfather, who they were close friends with. It was then, at the age of four going on five, that Alex met the person who would become his beloved, who was four years old.
Alex and the farmer were inseparable that whole summer, playing with a little ball Alex had and running around in the fields full of ungrown crops as Evelyn, George and Grandpa laughed.
The day that Alex had to go home, not knowing that it would be the last time he would see his grandparents until many years later, he shyly gave the (future) farmer a sweet pea and a kiss on the cheek.
"See you next summer?"
The (future) farmer smiled and nodded and gave Alex a soft kiss on the lips instead, his first kiss.
"You bet!"
It was then that tragedy struck, and Alex's father was fired, the (future) farmer's grandfather became very ill and soon died, the (future) farmer moved away before they turned five, and Alex never came back to Stardew Valley until he was 17.
As time went on, they realized they would probably never see each other again, and so, moved on and forgot about the other.
But fate is a funny thing...
The farmer moved into Stardew Valley when they were 21, making Alex 22 when they saw each other again.
At first, they didn't recognize each other.
But one hot summer day, when the Farmer gave Alex a Sweet Pea on their first date, Alex had a moment of Deja Vu.
"Farmer...it's you...!"
The farmer is confused until Alex explains and they remember too, and they both cry and laugh and hug and kiss each other like crazy, laughing as they roll around the sand and feel the water lapping at their feet.
"We really were meant to be..."

Damn Daniel, back again with those headcannons.
Alright, alright, enough with the outdated memes.

They barely reach at about 5'3". Their sibling is about 5'9", their mom is 5'8" and Dad is at a whopping 5'11".
So, when Alex first met the farmer, he almost crashed into them, being about 6'0".

Sick Headcannon
So I am as sick as a dog right now, and that got me thinking about a headcannon I wrote before for @sdvbachelors. However, it was about all the bachelors and not just Alex, but then it hit me: I can expand on it! So, welcome to the second Alex headcannon of the day.
When the Kids Fall Sick...
Whether it be one getting the other sick at around the same time or both of them getting the sickness simultaneously, the kids are usually the first to succumb to the germ in the household.
One kid is very fussy when they get sick, they cannot ever be comfortable and constantly ask for attention.
The other, however, is almost the opposite of their sibling. They are very quiet when they get sick, and rarely ever complain. However, this has its own downside, as many times the child forces themselves to continue up the charade of wellness until it is too much to handle.
Basically, Alex has to deal with not just a very upset child who "wants dada to make it go away," but also with a child who constantly gets out of bed even when they are running a high fever, saying "I wanna help, dada".
Alex pulls out all the stops for his beloved children. Not just because they are his children, but because they are his last remnants of family he had left in this world, along with the farmer and his grandparents. When they first get a sign of a sniffle, Alex rushes over to Dr. Harvey's office, banging on the door because YOBA IT IS 2:50 PM NOT 3:00 OPEN UP MY CHILDREN MAY BE DYING RIGHT NOW.
Once Harvey gives his diagnosis and prescribes medication and reassuring Alex for the hundreth time that YES, his children will be fine and NO, they are not dying, Alex gently cradles his kids until they get home and puts them in bed.
From then on, the farmer finds Alex in three places: the kids' bedroom, the kitchen or, worst case scenario, the bathroom.
The kids' bedroom was the most probable place, as he was constantly doing anything and everything to make sure the kids were comfortable, from reading them their favorite stories to making sure they were snug in their beds. His mother's music box played almost non-stop for days, helping the kids go to sleep.
Alex was in the kitchen whenever his kids needed something to eat or drink, usually bringing a lot so that he could continue to stay with his kids as long as possible.
Finally, the bathroom. Oh boy. When the farmer found Alex there for the first time, they were horrified, as their poor child seemed to be vomiting his poor guts out, the other child crying as they couldn't make it in time and accidentally threw up over their Dada's sweater.
However, Alex did not let a thing slow him down. He gently peeled off his sweater and shirt and told the kids that it was okay, Dada was okay.
The farmer came forward to also reassure them that it was okay, and that Mama/Papa was here now.
Together, Alex and the farmer helped the kids brush their teeth to get rid of the yucky taste, and then gave them a warm bubble bath to help then feel even cleaner, making their children feel happy even though they felt very ewwy.
As their parents changed them into their pajamas and then rocked each of them, singing a soft lullaby to help them go to sleep:

The kids' eyes began to droop, and before falling asleep, they say something that brings both Alex and the farmer to tears.
"Dada, Papa/Mama...we love you both."
With that, they tuck the kids in and kiss each of their foreheads in turn, before turning to each other.
Then, they go to the bathroom, and the farmer cleans up the mess while Alex takes a hot shower to get rid of the smell.
The farmer may or may not finish quicker than usual because of their husband in the shower.
Alex may or may not have purposefully used up the hot water so that he and the farmer had to share a shower.
And they may or may not have gotten somewhat messier in the process of getting clean before actually getting clean. ;)
However, once they both rub each other dry (literally and figuratively ;)), they each collapse on the bed and snuggle together, finally feeling somewhat relaxed since their kids got ill.
"Ahh...there's nothing like a good night's sleep next to my wife/husband!"
Alex felt his eyes droop down and nearly fell asleep, until he heard a loud sneeze next to him.
He opened his eyes, and looked at the farmer, who was now groaning and coughing like crazy.
"Oh no...honey..."
When the Farmer Falls Sick...
How did the farmer get sick before Alex? Well, Alex knows how to take care of himself, from when to stay inside, eating right, and doing exercise. Even when his kids fall ill, he still knows takes care of himself, from washing his hands and using hand sanitizer to wearing a mask to make sure his kids don't feel bad when they cuddle him in their sleep. Meanwhile, the farmer legit walks around in the rain, works under windy weather and doesn't even bundle up when it snows! This was bound to happen, tbh.
Anyway, while Alex may not like sickness (as it slows down his workout schedule), when it comes to the farmer, He. Will. Suck. It. Up.
Just like his child, he will forbid the farmer from getting up and does all the work around the farm.
The farmer is more like his other child in that they complain a lot when they feel unwell. However, Alex knows why they do so.
The farmer has asthma and ASD.
When they get sick, the farmer is legitimately struggling to breathe constantly, not just because of their sore throat and their blocked nose, but because their lungs are not at full capability.
Alex has timed his spouse's medicine times to the T, and has to constantly remind his beloved when to take them, snuggling them as they pout silently as they turn their nebulizer on, the medicine turning to vapor as they breathe in through their special mask.
The ASD makes everything worse in its own way. The farmer's sensitivities go up to the max, to the point where they are almost in tears because WHY ARE THE BLANKETS SO SCRATCHY AND THE LIGHTS SO BRIGHT LEXY IT HURTS SO MUCH.
Poor Alex tries his darndest to keep the farmer comfortable, holding the farmer while simultaneously trying to not squeeze them too much because of their sensitive nature, giving them warm drinks to help their asthma, and much more.
At night, he gives the farmer a soothing massage to help them relax and sleep, using that special cream Harvey gave them to open their airways and that was tailored for his love's sensitivity.
"Thanks, Lexy...you're the best."
It isn't until the week after, when the farmer and his kids are finally better, that Alex feels a tickle in his throat and his nose slightly stuffed.
"Oh no..."
When Alex Falls Sick...
Alex tries his hardest to nip the sickness in the bud, from working out more to sleeping earlier. However, when he finally falls, he falls HARD. He gets it all, the high fever, sweating, chills, throat drier than the Sahara Desert, coughs, loud sneezes, nose running like a faucet yet super congested, a pounding headache and aches everywhere.
The farmer is the first who can tell that Alex is sick when they wakes up and their love is still in bed, and his breathing is too labored for comfort.
With that, the farmer slowly creeps out of bed and hugs their kids tightly and kisses their chubby cheeks as they giggle.
"Where's Dada?"
The farmer sighs and tells them that Dada is feeling yucky right now, but gets an idea.
"You want to help me make Dada feel better?"
"Yeah! Let's help Dada!"
So, when Alex wakes up feeling like trash, he is greeted by his spouse's smiling face and a tray with hot tulip tea with honey and warm rice soup, his grandma's recipes. He then felt two warm weights on his sides, making the chills go away. His kids beam brightly at him and present him with a card each, drawing their whole family, one with a horse and one with a gridball, each displaying the same message.
"Feel better soon, Dada!"
When he finishes his light breakfast and takes some medicine, his kids snuggle closer and his spouse joins him in bed, wrapping an arm around him as they all go back to sleep for the day, silently announcing today as a quiet day.
And even through his headache and aches, Alex goes to sleep with a smile.
"Yoba, thank you so much for my family."

First Alex Headcannon!
Wow, thank you so much, everyone! I didn't expect for this to explode so rapidly.
I especially want to thank @sdvbachelors for all of their help. Without them, this blog would not exist. This one's for you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alex is an amazing dancer.
Because of his years as a quarterback and because of his best friend, Alex learned pretty early on that being graceful had a ton of perks. Because of this, he learned a lot of dance moves that actually helped him out on the field! The cha-cha helped him in sidestepping a player, the salsa helped him when he could simply slide under a huddle, and even ballroom dancing helped when he was able to run in circles to confuse the other team. However, once he graduated, he never thought he would use those skills for anything else.
That is, until the farmer came to town.
The farmer, gifted with two left feet, did not know how to dance. The Flower Dance more than proved their point. However, when Alex saw them in a corner, terrified, he sighed and dragged the farmer to the middle of the field and slow-danced with them, a blush slowly appearing on his cheeks.
"H-Hey...don't be scared, alright? I'm here..."
The farmer blushed and smiled brightly at Alex, making his blush creep up to his ears.
That was when the farmer fell in love with this man.
Now, as a married couple, Alex spontaneously dances with his spouse all the time, dipping them when he's excited and spinning them all around when happy.
When their first child arrived, the morning after was simply spent slow-dancing in the soft glow of dawn right before the farmer had to go do their chores.
"Farmer...I will always love you."
It wasn't long until the children were old enough to dance with their dada, as Alex constantly spun them around and leaned down as much as he could to dance with them, their feet on top of his as they danced.
The farmer always cocks an eyebrow as Alex takes a turn with each of their kids before showing themselves, smile wide.
Alex doesn't take long before sweeping his beloved in an elegant waltz, their kids cheering and squealing excitedly.
"Go Dada! Go Papa/Mama!"
As the children coo happily, Alex gently puts his head on his spouse's shoulder this time, and whispers something that always ends up with the farmer and him in a kiss and their children loudly exclaiming how gross they were.
"I finally have the family life that I missed out on as a kid...thank you."
