“Did you text that guy?” He looks toward the ceiling and tries not to sigh in annoyance. “Sort of,” he says.  “Sort of? What the fuck does that mean?” “It means I tried. It didn’t exactly work out.” “Okay you’re being cryptic and it’s annoying. What’s going on?” “I—“ “Is he married?” “No.” “Cheating on a boyfriend? Girlfriend?” “No!” “Oh god, is he into weird shit? Like chastity kink stuff?” Carlos almost drops the phone. He’d really rather not know anything about his sisters’ sex lives and he especially doesn’t want to know if they know about kinky stuff. “He’s the wrong guy!”

More stories from hell (retail) today I was ringing up this lady and she goes oh I want to do part of this on a gift card and the rest on normal card and I go ok and then she hands me a folded piece of paper. I think oh OK it must be folded around the gift card, right? Wrong. It is a folded sheet of 8×11 printer paper with "$40" written on the inside in ballpoint pen. I go what is this. She says a gift card. I say this is not a gift card. She says yes it is. I say this is a piece of paper with "$40" written on it. She says "well it's a gift card." I say it absolutely is not. I am grinding my teeth. She says well I want to use it. I say you physically cannot do that bc it is a piece of paper. I cannot scan or swipe it. I apologize, as if this is my fault, and not because she is completely insane. I hate it here

Iris had visited him in the hospital right after the surgery, and then come again as soon as he was released. Carlos barely remembers the first couple of days, hazy and pain-laden, but he remembers her. He remembers the way she gingerly climbed into bed beside him, how she laid next to him on his uninjured side. She slid her hand into his and told him to squeeze when the pain got bad. He tried to refuse, but as the nerve block wore off and he neared his next dose of pain meds, his grip on her hand was the only thing he could get his agony-soaked brain to focus on. You got this, she used to repeat in a soft voice, her free hand stroking his hair as he clenched his teeth and tried to hold tears back. He didn’t believe it but he clung to the way she said it, the same way she did before they separated for competitions, whispered in his ear like it was only something for them to know. Constant. He didn’t have much of anything, at that point. He wouldn’t be going to the Olympics. He wouldn’t even be doing gymnastics for the foreseeable future. His life as he knew it was gone, those three words maybe being the only thing that remained. But he had them, and he had her. The only thing left to do was figure out how that could be enough.

this is so real I think of this look a minimum of 5 times a day

I think I’ve got ahead of the rewatch as I just finished 3x12 and I gotta say I don’t think Carlos has ever looked as good in two successive episodes as he does in 3x11 with the punching bag and Grace and 3x12 on the floor with Sadie. Honestly, two of his absolute hottest looks, and some of his best non-Tarlos scenes.

AGREED those two episodes are absolutely top tier for him. The softness of the curls is unmatched in any other episodes to date. He looks so beautiful and snuggly. (Also yes the acting is flawless but how am I supposed to concentrate on that when there are curls to imagine lovingly stroking)

Happy Sunday/Monday everyone! (Maybe we should let them join forces and create a day called Funday.) Thanks for all the tags in all the tag games as a recent. As everything from the Time Loop AU is extremely referential, I don't want to risk spoiling anything so sharing snippets has been more of scarcity, but I've got something to share today:

“Have you spoken to your mom lately?” TK asks, almost haphazardly. Silence floods the room, slipping through underneath the door and drowning them both.

“Why do you ask?” Carlos replies, not quite sure why TK wants to invite a conversation that’s so….intimate, so personal. That said, Carlos doesn't fully mind.

Not too long along, the idea of something being just that seemed frightening; now he wants to sink his teeth into like a ripe fruit.

“Well you know,” TK begins to answer before looking away and casually shrugging, as if he didn't just say a series of words that seemed anything but. “You know, with the 126 being pulled apart in separate directions and,” He stops himself before he lets the words tumble out of his mouth.

Carlos can hear the sentence in the pause, regardless. Sure, the 126 was pulled apart, but he and TK were pulled even further apart.

okay okay so you guys are not over tarlos and im not shouting into oblivion thank God. so, wasn't it so beautiful that even when carlos was so mad at tk over iris but still did not ghost him, he still called and told him about what's going on and where he was. it was heartbreaking to see tk's face, but his love never lessened even a little bit

“You're on speaker?” TK repeats indignantly. “Why do you have to announce he’s on speaker? Are you worried he’s gonna say something I shouldn’t hear?”

“What? TK. No, I’m not worried he’s gonna say something. What would he say?”

“I don’t know, why do you have to warn him?”

“It’s the polite thing to do, TK. I don’t think he’s gonna start dropping dirty secrets I’ve been hiding from you.”

“Are you sure?”

“What could I be hiding? A secret viral Tik Tok account? A rabid Pokémon addiction? Do you think I’ve got another wife squirreled away?”

“Oh, God. Too soon, Carlos, I’m—”

“Uh. Hey guys,” Paul’s tinny voice cuts into their bickering from the speaker phone in Carlos’s hand. “Did you need me for this?”

“Hi, sweetheart, how was your day?” Carlos kissed his husband’s cheek.

TK shrugged, “It was all right. I’m just tired.”

“Are you hungry? Do you want dinner?” Carlos asked.

“Eh, not yet. I just want to relax with you.” TK placed a hand on each of Carlos’s cheeks and brought him in for a kiss. “I missed you.” TK smiled, sleepily.

“You saw me this morning, but I missed you too.” Carlos took TK's hand and intertwined their fingers and led him to the couch. Carlos laid down first and TK crawled on top of him, laid his head on Carlos’s bare chest, and nuzzled in, and shortly faded into slumber.

“Carlos, we watched that movie together, remember? [Redacted] was naked on a [redacted] with a [redacted]?” He hadn’t been, actually, but TK's particular brand of selective memory tends to skew towards nudity once a certain skin-to-shot ratio has been reached. “I remember. You snickered every time anyone said the word ‘bangs’.” TK hums. “And then you decided that I’m never allowed to eat that much caramel corn again.”

Happy Sunday. Have some "I have just posted" not remotely seven sentences from me. Here is the fic [💞] “Please tell me you intend to spell ‘TK’ on my skin and not your full name.”

Laughter bubbles up at the image in his head, the way Carlos’ entire legs would be covered in his name in red and purple splotches. Property of Tyler Kennedy Strand, like his mom made him put on his toys when he was able to spell it.  

“No but—” For good measure, TK sucks into the spot right next to the last before saying, “How about ‘mine’?”

Carlos groans. TK chooses to interpret it as enthusiasm.

He doesn’t really intend to spell anything. His mouth simply finds a new spot he wants to lick and suck until the salty taste of Carlos is imprinted on his tongue. It's an irregular pattern of lust, wandering up higher and higher until his nose finds where the smell of Carlos is more potent.

It’s only then that he pulls down the waistband. Carlos understands, his quick response betraying his own impatience as he sits up and quickly peels down his shorts and underwear like a dog kicking off clothing forced on him. TK grins and bends lower to help Carlos out of his socks because today, he wants Carlos to only wear his marks.

“You can stay as long as you need today. It’s not like I’m going anywhere,” Carlos tells him when TK’s attention is away from his phone again. “Everyone else can too. Or Paul’s place still has power. It must just be the north side that’s out.”

“That’s the only reason I get to stay? Power?” TK questions, just so he can get Carlos to say something sweet to him.

It works, and Carlos wanders over to TK’s side of the bed, placing one knee on the mattress and ducking down to kiss him sweetly. “Yup.”

Or maybe it didn’t. TK frowns and jabs his shoulder. “Jerk.”

Carlos chuckles as he slips away, not going far before he bends down, reappearing a moment later with the octopus.

“Left him on the floor all night,” Carlos chastises. “If this is how you treat him, maybe I should keep him.”

“No,” TK argues as he snatches the animal. “You won him for me. He’s mine.”

Carlos smiles, bending over to kiss TK again. This one drags out longer before Carlos murmurs, “Stay because I want you to.”
