my fav individual bug that i've come to recognize outside my apt is the male carpenter bee that owns the entire front of my building but prefers to hang out near my apt specifically, and it kills me every time i open my blinds in the morning to immediately see him hovering and just Staring into my kitchen at me. last year he accidentally made it inside when we had the door open and he slowly made a bee-line (lol) for the kitchen and just. hovered in place in there kinda looking around like "oh. i know this place." he stayed for like 5 min and then left exactly the way he came as if he was completely familiar with the house via staring thru our windows. i think he recognizes us but he does still make strafing runs at us on the balcony to keep us on our toes

#he's so cute #he will literally stare DIRECTLY at me thru the window and follow me #he's probably just pissed i exist in his territory but i like to think he's being curious lol
