Crazy how quiet everybody was and is about chechnya. Like lgbt people are being tortured and murdered by chechen officials and by their own family and people. When the news first broke out in 2017 there was barely any posts on tumblr despite the fact that we found out a literal gay purge was happening and now the documentary about it was released two days ago and im one of the only people doing posts about it here on tumblr. Honestly the most heartbreaking part about the documentary wasnt all the fucked up things but the fact despite these horrible fucking things happening nobody cares barely anybody is talking about it. Youd think a website with huge amounts of lgbt users would make this trend but no when you go in the tags theres literally less than ten new posts. Putin isnt gonna do shit about it the lgbt chechens and the people evacuating them need support from other countries russia is not gonna fucking help them. Every day this fucking site is filled with stupid lgbt discourse and shit that doesnt fucking matter but when an actual gay purge happens and actual people are being murdered and tortured yall decide to be quiet and do absolutely nothing.

So it’s the end of February, we’re an hour out from march and it’s starting to hit me that I have two months until my final exams. Meaning I have three months until I’m done with school. What a crazy thought, a year back this felt like it’d be a decade away and now it feels like if I blink, I’ll miss it. 

Bit terrified, incredibly excited, astonishingly stressed. 2020′s a big year, and we’re lowkey thriving.

we started our o chem & i am enjoying it a lot! as of late, i’ve been having some trouble going to lectures and getting myself up in the morning but on friday i went to all of my lectures and even my prof’s office hour!

one thing I can definitely improve about my studying is to stop setting unrealistic goals for myself such as trying to do everything in one day! be kind to yourself.

today I hung up lights in my room (typical haha) and played some guitar. now I’m off to study for who knows how long!

2.25.2020 | 7 Day Korean Challenge: Day 3/7

Another productive day of studying. It’s definitely frustrating when you put in all these hours and don’t really see improvements, but I’m trying to remind myself that progress isn’t going to be noticeable that quickly. However, I can tell that my writing has gotten less…elementary? and I can start to write longer more complex sentences. It’s just the speaking that’s killing me!! 

Hours studied: 7 New words learned: 50 Words reviewed: 100

I did write my first diary entry in Korean! It took me around 20 minutes and I wrote a solid 250 Korean words woot woot ~ Tomorrow I’m going to double down on grammar and speaking.

January 25th, 2020. Man, today was rough. Could only get Legal Psych done and its assignments for the week. Which leaves me one full day tomorrow to start and finish a whole research proposal I had two weeks worth of time to write. Well, then. Trying not to get down on myself. New day tomorrow. Ugh.

Next week, I have my genetics, physics, and biochem exam. Then I procter the intro to bio exam and then I finally go home for spring break. ☕️
