The chatter and banter which once occupied the courtyard dies down to dull whispers and foot tapping.

Everyone waits, and there's no Crowley.

"Wonderful," Jamil sighs. "He's probably taken all the money and run off. I told you all that-"

"Maybe he's late!" Kalim shouts. A few in the crowd murmur in hopeful agreement.

Silver coughs. "Maybe he realized this whole thing is ridiculous and is processing everyone's refunds,"

They don't like that option as much.

The sun hangs lower and lower in the sky, threatening to shroud everyone in darkness as the minutes tick on.

"Well, I've had enough of this," Vil says, turning towards the exit. "I've put off my afternoon long enough."

"For once, we can agree on something," Leona murmurs, dragging Ruggie along with him.

No one is exactly surprised with this turn of events- but there's a definite sense of disappointment that everyone is sharing.

"He probably just forgot or 'somethin," Epel says, walking alongside Ace, Deuce, and Jack back to Ramshackle to update you on the happenings.

Jack shrugs. "He's definitely not the most organized, but there's no way someone could just "forget" about this. I think Jamil is right, he probably ran off with the money while he could. The swindler..."

Deuce is the next to add something to the pity party. "And yet, we should've known this was a possibility,"

"Shoulda seen it coming..." Epel murmurs. "I shoulda listened to Vil and pulled out while I still had the chance. Dang it..."

The lights are on in Ramshackle as the four approach, a warm and welcome sight after their disappointing afternoon. And the front door is open- were you expecting them?

"Hm. Well, think of it this way," Ace pushes the door the rest of the way open. "We may have been scammed, but at least nothing changes. I mean, it could've been worse."

"A lot worse," Deuce murmurs, following him inside.

The four make it into the foyer and stop dead in their tracks.

There are many things to expect walking into Ramshackle- cobwebs, dust, ghosts, you- Crowley is usually not one of them.

"You- you've been here this whole time?!" Epel shouts, throwing his arms out. "We were all 'waitin for 'ya like a bunch of idjits!"

Deuce and Ace wince. "Dude, chill... but seriously, where were you?"

Crowley doesn't have the chance to answer before something else steals away their attention.

You walk into the room, suitcase in hand. "Guys?"

The four turn to greet you, eyes wide at the luggage you're carrying. "What's that... Crowley?"

The man himself just stands there, pretending to ponder something. "I could have sworn I sent someone to break the news... how peculiar,"

Epel's brow knots. "What news?"

"A third party somehow got wind of our little... venture and donated a very high sum at the last minute. Along with a very passionately worded letter about our dear prefect's safety here at school," he pauses. "Or lack thereof."

Crowley sighs. "The name rung a bell, but... I couldn't imagine how or why anyone outside of NRC would be following the prefect's moves so closely,"

Deuce's eyes narrow. "Crowley. What are you trying to say?"

"Well, I..." he says, seemingly at a loss for words. "I'm afraid to say that our prefect is being transferred to Noble Bell College,"

Drabbles I had when it was my universities intrams months ago 🥲

Ah the day you truly hated. While for some others it's the day they awaited. Intramurals..The intramurals lasted a whole week long, but luckily your athlete boyfriend will keep you entertained. Arriving at campus at 6 in the morning isn't ideal, but who were you to complain?, after all non-athletes were told to arrive at 6:30. but unfortunately for you, you were told to arrive at 6. why?, by luck or by misfortune you were scouted by the student body committee to help set up the venues. which included; Volleyball, Basketball, Football, Taekwondo and various other sports venues. Having to prepare snacks and bottles of water for the athletes were a pain. no wonder why the student body committee asked for help.Bored and irritated of having to help, you zoned out in the middle of helping the others set up. not realizing you had bumped into your oh so lovely boyfriend.Seeing you carry the boxes and even water gallons he graciously took the load off of your hands and moved it himself. Once after the events for the first day had concluded, he took his reward.Rough hands wrapping around your waist firmly yet soft. Bringing you close to his body, as he leans down and gives you a soft peck on the lips. A perfect way to end the first tiring and hellish day of intramurals.

Wasn't so bad (Julian Loki x GN reader)

Maybe it wasn't so bad. It wasn't so bad you were spending the extended holiday with your older brother in france. The country itself was beautiful, with so much luxurious architecture,clothing and treats. Moreover you were also missing your older brother, you can't deny, its been a long time since you both have met up. Waiting at the airport felt like an eternity, constantly checking your phone to see if your brother ‘Akatsuki’ texted yet. Seeing no text yet, you sighed and impatiently tapped your pointer finger against your forearm, waiting for the familiar red-head to pick you up. 

Texting him one last time and reminding him that you were already at the airport, and making sure you dearest brother didn't forget of his responsibilities. And finally he decided to respond after what felt like HOURS..

The reply wasn't one you expected nor even thought of. A friend of his was picking you up?. You felt slightly worried, you haven't met any of his friends yet. Which made you feel slightly anxious. 

Till you were taken out of your thoughts by a handsome young 

Man. 

The young man spoke in french, leaving you to tilt your head to the side, confused what the handsome french man was telling you. 

The Frenchman catched on that you didnt understand him, which prompted him to let out a soft chuckle..and speak in english for you

“Bonjour, Im Julian Loki, one of your brother's friends!” Julian introduced himself politely. His accent strong but soft, it made your heart rush

Quickly you shook off your shock and introduced yourself back. 

‘’(Name) (Last name)..” Not fond of speaking to people you didn't know, you just simply told your name. Julian smiled softly and soon repeated your name. 

‘’(Name)..” The way your name rolled off his tongue so smoothly made you flush internally. Julian was an attractive young man, no doubt he was physically active due to the muscles you could see.. 

Clearing your throat you asked the most important question. 

“Are we just gonna stand here all day?” This question caught Julian off guard but made him chuckle nonetheless, he shook his head and soon helped you with your bags. 

Julian insisted he would be the one to place your luggage in the trunk, while you wait inside the car. 

Not so long after, the car started. With Julian driving and you in the passenger seat. 

The car ride was silent but comfortable, soft french songs were playing. Julian hummed the rhythm of the songs. 

Taking a quick glance at Julian, your cheeks flushed. Your heartbeat fast.. Maybe..

It wasn't so bad to spend the holiday with your brother. If it meant you could see the French man more often.

Being a detective wasn't easy. you knew that, he knew that. Yet you could never bring yourself to ask him to quit his dreams, quit his profession, quit his passion. Opening the door to be greeted by one of heizou's co-workers. The news that soon left their lips, had you on the floor. tears spilling out, as choke sobs made their way out of your throat. Heizou's co-worker, had an expression of guilt and regret. watching you break down in front of them..Inside you begged. begged the archons and celestia itself, that this was all just some sick joke, some sick prank.Yet deep inside you. you knew. it wasn't.The funeral..was a few days away. Each passing day, the more your senses numbed. it was impossible..he wasn't dead right?, yet every time you call his name out like a silent prayer, and when he wouldn't respond with his usual cheery and playful attitude. you knew. your heizou was gone.The day finally came. the funeral, the most dreaded day of your life. where everyone was dressed in black and white from head to toe. Seeing the traveller gave you a sense of..bitterness, you blamed them for heizou's death partially. Why..why couldn't they have been with heizou?, yet you also knew. it wasn't their fault.as the time came to finally put valuable Item—such as a white kimono, a pair of sandals, six coins for crossing the River of Three Crossings. you knew..that no matter how much you beg the archons, the shogunate herself, Celestia..that he would never be back, your Heizou was gone.The time came to burn the stuff he was fond of, his favorite food. that you used to cook for him, that you both used to cook together.. The mystery novels he was so fond of. That he would read to you, slowly and surely burned..in the fir, and soon it

was over. It was all over, he was gone. There was nothing anyone could do.

He was gone. your precious heizou was gone...you knew.

You always knew..it was never easy to be a detective.

i know we always talk about fanfics that just fundamentally change you as a person but can i just say that the same thing applies to writers and comments we got on our works?

putting your writing out there and knowing it is being perceived and judged by other people is terrifying at the best of times. some comments just. take my brain and shake it because the connection between "person finds this great" and "you are the guy that WROTE THAT" can only be achieved by violently turning my brain into scrambled eggs.

Rainy day cuddles<3

Cuddling with him during the afternoon was uncommon, due to his busy schedule. But you can't say you were complaining either, due to the heavy storm his meeting/practice had been canceled. Which leads to you both cuddling underneath the safety of your warm and soft blanket keeping you both warmer. The silent atmosphere was a cozy and comfortable silence, as you both listened to each other’s heartbeats. The rain outside was strong, yet the noise it brought was comforting. The raindrops hitting the roof and sliding down the pipe’s brought a sense of nostalgia. Looking outside the window, seeing the rain droplets fall off the leaves at a languid pace, made you sleepy. Your wrapped arms around his frame, his hands on your waist drawing small and slow circles made you feel safe. With a yawn you cuddle and snuggle up closer to him. Eyes heavy, and slowly blinking, before they finally shut. As you made your way to dreamland, you felt his chest rumble slightly. His voice was soft and quiet as he mumbled out a soft and tender.

‘’I love you.”

With that, you find yourself being swayed into dreamland, within the warm and loving arms of your sweet lover.

Octavinelle: When You’re Sick

The worst thing to ever happen to you while attending Night Raven College had to be, hands down, getting sick. You were alone in the dorm with only ghosts and Grim to keep you company, and as much as you loved them, they couldn’t take care of you when you became sick. This meant you had to make do and hope that everything was alright. Normally if you were under the weather, you’d just suck it up and go to class so as to not worry anyone. This time however, that wasn’t an option.

You woke up with every muscle in your body feeling sore and aching with even the slightest movement. Your stomach churned something fearsome and you had a runny nose and cough to boot. You had no idea what illness you had fallen to. Having so many symptoms…you could only assume it was the flu or something akin to that.

Still, there was no way you were making it to class like this. So begrudgingly you told Grim you weren’t feeling good and needed to rest, and to go to class and get your homework so you could do it later. Azul Ashengrotto

Azul is going to be concerned the moment he hears from Floyd and Jade that you’re home sick. He knows you tend to take care of others and neglect your own health, at least in the time he’s known you at the college, so he’s automatically assuming the worst. So he’s going to excuse himself from his own work at the lounge, pack up all his paperwork, and head over to your dorm. He needs to make sure his best customer, and sometimes best worker when you were strapped for cash, was okay and not actually dying, as Floyd so eloquently put it.

He’s not half bad at taking care of others oddly enough, though he is lacking in experience. It’s one of the many things he studied in his free time, so he at least knows what he’s doing. He’ll be calling the nurse anyway just to check in on you and make sure it’s nothing too serious. Once he gets that out of the way, he’s going to do his best in following directions and making sure you recover in the most timely manner possible.

Thankfully he does care for you, so he won’t be making any comments about how helping you out will come with a price later, like picking up shifts at the lounge. In fact, he’s very gentle with you and asks questions in a softer voice than normal. He even orders food from the lounge to be delivered so you can have something warm to eat that’s also delicious. He will be doing work on the side, especially the moment you fall asleep, so don’t be surprised if you wake up to pages turning.

Once you’re better it’s like a weight is lifted off his shoulders. He’ll be in a chipper mood as well, something the twins will notice right away. If you bring up wanting to repay him, he’ll just inform you that if he ever falls sick, you’ll be the one nursing him back to health. A good compromise in the end, and something you were already planning on doing for him.

Jade Leech

Jade won’t have too much of a reaction to finding out that you’re sick, other than a frown being placed on his lips. He finds out through Floyd when he’s complaining that his Shrimpy couldn’t come out and have fun since they were dying at home from some horrible, debilitating disease. Jade knows his brother is playing things up, but this does give Jade the little push he needs to go in and visit you to make sure you’re okay.

Thankfully Jade is one of the more competent boys when it comes to taking care of others. He’s already figured out exactly what was wrong with you and is grabbing some of the best medication from Sam’s, since the stuff the nurse has is “mediocre at best”. Since Jade is normally the one having to take care of Floyd when he’s sick, he knows all the things to do if you happen to be stubborn, especially with taking medication. 

He’s just very soft with you, showing you a genuine smile as you eat the soup he brings you, and playing with your hair. He doesn’t need to do much when taking care of you, trusting the medication to do all the work, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to want to leave your side. Just expect Floyd to be paying you a visit as well, even if you’re asleep, and waking you up. Where you have one twin, chances are you have both of them, but it’s all good since they’re both amazing at making you smile. Jade stays even after Floyd gets bored and heads back though, and he’s without a doubt skipping his shift at the lounge that night.

Jade is in a noticeably better mood once you’re better, but don’t be fooled. He’s going to be using this against you in an attempt to have you join him on one of his hikes. Saying something about the fresh air and moving your body will be good for you. He won’t force you, but he’s definitely going to be playing up that he’s so hurt if you decline. Just go with him, if you get tired the string bean of a man can and will carry you up a mountain.

Floyd Leech

Floyd doesn't even know how to react when he discovers you’re sick. He’s both mad and sad, all at the same time. People are going to be parting like the red sea the moment they see him walking down the hall with a scowl on his face. His shrimpy couldn’t possibly be sick, it wasn’t fair. He had so much planned to do with you today and now you couldn’t even leave your bed? He won’t stand for this and after pouting for half the day, Jade comments that he can simply visit you and maybe help you feel better. There goes the switch and suddenly Floyd is in an amazing mood as he ditches the rest of his classes and work just to go and visit you. 

Floyd isn’t half bad with taking care of others if he’s in the mood to do it. He is the one who takes care of Jade when he’s sick (which normally Jade gets sick right after Floyd). He’s not going to be talking to you in a super gentle voice, or babying you unless he finds it fun to do so. If you happen to get flustered by him doing so, then he’ll be more inclined to literally spoon feed you.

Floyd is just going to raid your medicine cabinets rather than going out anywhere, since it’s just the flu he assumes it’s not too bad. He’s also using your kitchen to cook you some meals and bringing them to you. He’ll be smiling brightly when you’re eating the food he made, and whenever you take the medicine. He feels so accomplished knowing that you’re getting better due to his efforts. There is a good chance he won’t be spending the entire day by your bed, since he’ll get bored, but he will be there on and off the entire time you’re sick.

You’re getting a good, healthy squeeze the moment you’re all better. Floyd is just over the moon and already telling you about all the things he has planned now that you’re no longer dying. Be nice and humor him, he has been going through a lot of emotions the entire time you’ve been sick. He just managed not to show you, but anytime he left the dorm, he was back to being grumpy and irritable, to suddenly depressed and closed off. He was really only smiling when taking care of you, so he deserves to squeeze you for a good while now that you’re no longer sick.
