Summary: After taking theatre classes after school for months, Midge Klump is delighted to be cast, albeit by a technical default, as Carrie White in the Riverdale High production of Carrie: The Musical. On debut night, Midge is murdered in cold blood and a witch hunt ensues to find the killer and bring him to justice. Fangs Fogarty finds himself in the crosshairs of this witch hunt, which culminates in him being arrested and charged as Midge’s killer. 

Robin Allard, a public defender, is assigned to his case and together they fight the uphill battle to try and prove his innocence in court, finding skeletons in each other’s closets along the way. Robin may believe that Fangs is innocent, but will 12 jurors think the same? And will Fangs Fogarty be found guilty or not guilty of the murder of Midge Klump?

For any of my followers who are or were in the Riverdale fandom and do or did support Morgan and her work when she posted under the account @/lilhemmo.

This is a post I really didn’t want to make, but I guess it’s finally time for me to come out and say that @/gallickingun/Morgan almost word for word copied the @bnhabookclub​ blog and server from a blog/server hybrid that I co-created with friends in the Riverdale fandom last year: @southsidearchive​.

(Sidenote: don’t send shitty asks to any of the blogs tagged here, especially not bookclub where the people receiving these asks are likely the mods running the queue and not Morgan.)

I tried a few times to start this, because I wanted to be clear and concise, but honestly, the more I think about this situation, the more it pisses me off. I know a lot of people won’t believe me despite the screenshots I’m about to show, and that’s their prerogative. People are going to continue to support Morgan and the bookclub after this, and Morgan will probably come out with some long post where she talks in circles and blames her mental health and/or me for the situation.

The only other things I’ll say to preface this post is that: I don’t have any issues with anyone in the bnhabookclub (admins, mods, etc) aside from Morgan, and I don’t want anon messages sent in my name, especially ones that are hateful in nature. You can disagree with someone without harassing them.

It’s been almost three months since most of what I talk about in this post occurred, but that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped being upset about what happened. And, in a way, I feel like my hands are tied. The bnhabookclub being “stolen” and “copied” has been brought up on the @gallickingunexposed​ blog. Since the only way people know that is from hearing it from me or someone I told, I figured I might as well come out and say it:

Morgan copied the @bnhabookclub​ from @southsidearchive​, a blog/server combo which Morgan was an active participant in.

Now, I could continue to keep my mouth shut and try to move on from the subject. I could leave and find a new fandom to join (which I was going to do with hq until Morgan also joined that fandom). At the end of the day, neither of those options brings me closure on the subject. It also shows no consequences for bad behavior. I’ve heard a few people talk about Morgan stealing fic ideas or outright plagiarizing content, and while I can neither confirm nor deny those accusations (for obvious reasons), I do have proof of 1) how similar the bookclub and archive are, and 2) Morgan talking shit about me before and after I gained entrance to the bookclub server.

The only reason I’m posting this now, aside from closure for myself, is that I can’t in good conscience ignore this incident if there’s the possibility of Morgan doing the same thing to other people. Plagiarism isn’t okay. I’ve dealt with fic plagiarism in other fandoms. From experience, I know how damaging that can be to a writer.

To avoid forcing people to view a massive post, all of my screenshots are below the cut. These screenshots include proof of Morgan in the archive, comparison pictures of the bookclub and archive, and screenshots that were sent to me that lead me to believe that the copying of the archive was done with malicious intent.

Why is it sus? Because Morgan copied another blog? Regardless of whether the actual blog has posted anything, regardless of who owns the blog Morgan copy and pasted every single part of book club from that blog and tumblr. Copy and paste. No attempt to change it up a lil with her own words, not even an extra smiley face or a heart. No change

We think it’s more “sus” that Morgan hasn’t said anything about it, but she has the time to be a dictator in the server?
