series recap : 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐬 !

with a successful show behind us it’s time to recap everything that happened on 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇 and finally find out which of our angels will spread their wings and fly with the flock.

disclaimer: all votes from ep 3 onwards are based off of one set of votes that we conducted. we moved around the rankings week to week as a way to spice up the plot so that votes and storylines do not become repetitive. the final 6 is determined by those original votes and as some ocs have been discontinued we removed them and added in a “producers pick” for the final member.

2 weeks before the airing of the first episode hundreds of soon to be angels sent in audition tapes showcasing all of their individual talents and charms in order to show why they deserve to be one of the angels on seraph. each of their tapes were uploaded online and the audience voted for 2 weeks in order to pick their top 12 angels. the final 12 angels were announced on the live broadcast of the first episode of seraph on the 19th of march 2021.

this was the first week of challenges and the girls were given 2 performances to work on. the first being a solo performance of another angels iconic comeback and the other being group performances.

group 1 = mimi ˒ haeju ˒ winter ˒ ame ˒ jay & eden !group 2 = baebi ˒ chloe ˒ dahlia ˒ yuri ˒ jade & ricky !

despite the initial tension in group 1 as winter , jay and eden fought for this weeks centre position the girls all learnt to recognize each others talents and decide remove the center position entirely making their team work the focal point and created an amazing performance!

unfortunately for group 2 their main vocalist of the week chloe fell ill and lost her voice so they needed to pick a replacement fast. the girls took turns singing and when ricky’s turn rolled around her voice cracked . tension rose between the girls as chloe picked ricky despite this error , making jade and dahlia feel done in as it was clear she did not get the part because she was the best but rather because of her preexisting friendship with chloe.

this weeks challenge was team focused and lead by the two main dancers of the show : baebi and mimi who both choreographed their individual group dances.

group 1 = mimi ˒ ame ˒ ricky ˒ winter & yuri ! group 2 = baebi ˒ haeju ˒ chloe ˒ jade & eden !

tensions kept rising between contestants as team two allow their egos to get the best of them and become full of it. they’re attitude becomes an issue with the other team and they have had enough. in their confessionals group 1 express this annoyance with everyone choosing to be indirect except for yui and ricky. ricky publicly voiced her dislike for jade calling her a princess and her general skepticism towards haeju as she felt disingenuous and washed up. whilst yui accused eden of being “ too reliant on rigging , can't half ass her way to number 1 ” like she did on honeypot.

group 2 aimed to “make group 1 cry” by adding in an acrobatic trick. when chloe drops jade at the interim check and an almost dangerous accident happens the angels scrap the trick and although the performance is safer it does not wow as much as they intended.

all of this tension comes to a head at the interim check when ricky snaps on jade and the two engage in a heated yelling match that gets broken up by their fellow angels.

this week was the semi finals and stakes were high. the challenge focus for the week was positions in the group with the angels splitting off into 3 groups of 3 , each focusing on the 3 core aspects of idol performances : vocals ˒ rap & dance ! winning this week was extra valuable as the team that won got immunity and would immediately be sent through to the finals.

rap team = eden ˒ winter & ricky ! ⇢ ˗ˏˋ stage ! vocal team = yuri ˒ chloe & jade ! ⇢ ˗ˏˋ stage ! dance team = ame ˒ baebi & mimi ! ⇢ ˗ˏˋ stage !

after a month of seraph the girls deserved a break and so each team split off and had exclusive off days which they could decide to do whatever they wanted. rap team went on an overnight trip to the beach, vocal team had a spa day and performance team went to an amusement park.

winter and eden were in the same team for the first time since their group disbanded and since yui’s comment about the rigging. the reunion was highly anticipated and the awkward tension between them at first was palpable. but when their team had their trip to the sea the girls had a lot of down time to talk. through their heart to heart conversation the girls made up and despite facing slight difficulties as none of the girls had ever written a rap they managed to create a fun filled rap performance in the end.

the vocal team decided to go on a relaxing spa day with each other to bond and write. they all agreed that they needed to release their stress and felt like being pampered at a spa. on the trip the girls spoke about their lives and careers and took videos and photos which they used to create a feel good vcr that played in the background of their performance.

performance team took a trip to an amusement park and the clips from their trip were so fun and mimi’s screams on the rollercoasters were memed and spread all over stan twt. seeing the girls have so much fun and let loose was so refreshing and it allowed for them to work well to create such a memorable dance performance.

as we know as this point seraph consisted of already debute idols and aimed to find the best of the best in the kpop industry. this episode truly showcased the level of excellence amongst the girls. so of course this week was especially tough competition with all the angels stunning audiences with their self created performances.

in the end vocal team won the round and gained immunity. no one knew who wad going home that week and in a shock reveal yuri placed last but because of her immunity eden was sent home instead.

this episode was the finale of the entire show and it was livestreamed to millions viewers world wide on the 23rd of april 2021 it was the girls last chance to prove why they deserve to be in the fic communities first super group. the stakes were high. this week had 4 performances : wings seraph intro song , solo stages , group performances of iconic kpop songs and finally a group performance of the first original song made for the angels nun nu nan na !

crazy = yuri ˒ winter ˒ jade & baebi ! ⇢ ˗ˏˋ stage ! rollin’ = ricky ˒ chloe ˒ mimi & ame ! ⇢ ˗ˏˋ stage ! nun nu nan na ⇢ ˗ˏˋ stage ! wings ⇢ ˗ˏˋ stage !

the way voting worked this week was done different. originally viewers would vote for their fav flock as well as their favourite angel and both votes would be totaled together to determine rankings. however this week they did not vote for groups and those performances were not judged. instead the votes were all done live and focused on individual angels. so although group performances technically did not count people were still voting throughout the show with it only closing after their final performance of nun nu nan na. angels had to perform to their best abilities to try prove why they should debut in the group.

the show opened with the angels performing their intro song wings for the first time ! the track that was played before every episode was produced by judge j-hope of bts and blu ﹙ @irisblu3 ﹚ who sang the song. the angels performed and sang the track which was entertaining and focused on them having fun on their final stage. during the stage all the former angels came on stage and performed with them making it a massive reunion stage with all of the original 12 angels.

before the stage a vcr played of all the former angels surprising the others as they came to practice for the stage. it was a heartwarming and sweet video that set the perfect sweet scene for the performance. voting opened as soon as this stage ended.

their solo performances then followed. each solo performance highlighted each of the angels unique charms just like their audition videos in their first week. all the former angels sat in the audience and cheered for the other girls as they performed. the angels group performances of crazy and rollin’ followed their solos , and they closed off with nun nu nan na.

the final lineup was announced from bottom to top with winter being the first confirmed member of seraph after placing 6th ! chloe , mimi and jade were announced afterwards with each of the now official members taking their place on the podium. the final 4 left on stage were baebi , yuri , ricky and ame. yuri and baebi stood hand in hand as they anxiously awaited the results. nova and yen built up anticipation by explaining each of the angels remaining’s journeys on seraph.

ricky started the show strong and was consistent throughout ranking high every week. baebi and yuri had been fan favourites since they sent in their auditions and shon every week until their shock dip the week prior. ame had at first been towards the bottom and narrowly missed elimination multiple times but as week progressed so did her skills , every week she climbed up the ranks and proved that there was a reason she was there.

nova and yen both gasped as they saw the result : yuri and baebi had tied for first shooting up the ranks hugely following their previous week. yuri couldn’t help but cry as she as baebi walked hand in hand onto their shared first place podium.

the final angel was decided by the judges: j-hope , sunmi and hyuna. they analyzed both ricky and ames time on seraph before deciding that ame would debut in seraph as the final member. ricky was thought to be for sure a member of the final lineup as she never left the top 7 every week unlike ame. but the judges explained that she had begun to plateau, no longer showing anything new or special but ame was constantly working on improving and it unlocked all of her unseen potential.

and just like that the ultimate fic community super group 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇 was made !

episode 2: 𝙛𝙡𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙠

with this week being fully on the leaders shoulders the tensions are high amongst the angels. after hours of practice and buckets of sweat will they be able to impress the judges? will their performances have you on cloud 9?

If we’re being honest team two is ... full of it. they’re stuck up and pert and the girls have had enough. Each of the girls members have tea to spill about the other team this week in their diary room interviews! the angels can vote to put they weapons on the table or make an indirect.

Team One chose : make and indirect AND weapons on the table. those who voted weapons on the table decide to bam drop the angels they do not like whilst the rest make i directs.

Outcome: tension rises even more as the angels get fed up with the other team. despite their efforts to be au or ans indirect team two hears of how they feel and become even more hostile. The general public loves some good drama, and the fans love to believe that it was edited. Everyone earns 300 bonus points for at least attempting to take the high road and an extra 50 for adding entertainment .

TOTAL: 350 points.

mimi’s voice rang over the music as she kept count got the girls as ran through their routine for the uptenth time. sweat was beading on the angels’ foreheads, their movements stiffening along with the stale air in the dance studio that they haven’t left since 8 am.

just as if their tortuous practice couldn’t get any worse, their competitors drifted past the window looking out into the hallway. all the members of team 2 looked condescendingly happy and refreshed with their iced coffees in hand. their smug faces as they watched through the windows was the final straw for mimi.

“okay, okay, pause.” mimi shouted, breaking position to go turn off the music. as she neared the sound system the members of the second team waved through the glass. the small girl took a deep breath before plastering on her most convincing smile as she cracked the door open.

“you guys seem to be working so hard!” baebi complimented, taking the black plastic straw between her lips. her teammates hummed in agreement.

“you guys must be so tired, how are you guys doing so much?” eden asked, over exaggerating her pout by sticking out her bottom lip.

mimi looked back at her team, all visibly tired and worn out. her members were shooting silent daggers at the girls in the doorway, despite their pearly white smiles. mimi felt a little less crazy seeing that her teammates feeling the same agitation she felt .

“of course we’re tired, we’re practicing till perfection. we are here to win after all ” mimi said confidently.

the members of team two looked between each other the same smug faces from before on their faces, jade letting out low ‘ooh’s’ of false intimidation before breaking down into chuckles. yui’s eyebrows shot up, looking over at her fellow team members.

“well, you guys look great to me!” baebi said, reaching out to squeeze the slightly-damp shoulder of the other leader. “team one, fighting!” eden addressed the whole room in a sing song voice, holding up her coffee triumphantly.

team two echoed their wishes of good luck before filing into the practice room adjacent to their own. mimi closed the door and turned to face her teammates with her eyebrows deeply furrowed. everyone’s plastered on smiles fell as soon as the lock clicked , leaving scowls on their sweet faces.

“that was bitchy.” ame broke the silence.

“i hated that. i just hate their stupid smirks.” ricky shook her head. “it’s one thing to be confident, it’s another to just be a bitch.” yui scoffed, folding her arms . “they could literally see that we are hard at work? and then they come in parading that they’re on a coffee break?”

“and why are they on break to begin with?” yuri asked, using her sleeve to wipe her forehead. “like the performance is in 3 days surely they should be practicing to clean up their dance to win?”

“they’re on break because they don’t know what we’re capable of.” mimi answered honestly, rolling her neck out. “they’re just trying to get under our skin.”

“well, it’s fucking working.” ricky gave a dry chuckled. “i feel like fighting someone.”

“fight them by winning this week .” mimi urged, not wanting her teammates to lose focus of their goals. “we can and will beat them, we just need to keep practicing.”

unfortunately, no one seemed interested in mimi’s genuinely sweet motivational speech right now.

“i’m really not over how rude that was.” ame scrunched up her nose. “i can’t tell if they’re just full of themselves or if they’re cripplingly insecure and trying to make us feel small.”

“trust me, they’re not the masterminds you think they are,” yui gave a condescending laugh. “don’t give them that much credit. their egos are just huge.”

“stereotypical mean girls.” ricky summarized.

“guys, don’t let it get to you.” mimi attempted to soothe the tension , although it came out more like a plea. “let’s run it again, one more time. then we can take a break too.”

the angels still wore dark expressions on their faces, but they took their positions without arguing.

“sorry,” ricky said softly, rolling her neck out and assuming her spot next to ame. “i just really can’t stand people like that.”

“honestly the other girls don’t really bother me but… there’s one member…” yuri draws on, giving ame a knowing glance. “she just thinks she's way more important than she actually is.”

“I think we’re thinking of the same person.” ame gave a short chuckle, shifting in her seat. “i just don’t think she has ever worked hard a day in her life.” yuri shook her head. “probably not. she kinda acts like she’s above everyone. you’re only that cocky when you’ve had things handed to you.” ame reflected. yuri laughed, nudging ame playfully in agreement.

“who do i have a problem with?” ricky repeated the question, pretending to mull over her response. “hm. jade.” she laughed at her own bluntness. “i honestly don’t think i’ve met one contestant that hasn’t had a problem with jade… besides jade herself of course.” she chuckled, folding her arms. “i just think she takes the ‘princess’ persona her company gave her a little too seriously.” she paused as her tongue ran across her bottom lip “i also don’t really like haeju.” ricky pursed her lips. “if you ask for specifics, i couldn’t really tell you why, but there’s just something off about her. it honestly might be because honeymoon is like… basically dead and seraph might be her last shot to revive her group. i think the desperation is a little strong with her.”

honestly, it was very bold of eden to even speak earlier.” yui crossed her arms. “some people never change. she didn’t work hard on honeypot, and she’s barely surviving on seraph.” she shook her head in disapproval. “eden is too reliant on rigging if you ask me. who’s gonna tell her that seraph isn't anything like honeypot, she can't half ass her way to number 1 again. she’s never gonna grow up i guess.”

mimi shifted in her stool before speaking the words she’d been keeping in all day, “i can’t say this in front of my team, but team two has been really bothering me lately.” the small girl confessed. “obviously, as the leader, i can’t make any specific comments towards anyone in particular. i will say that i think it is super disrespectful that they act like they can slack off because they think their team is better. it’s unsportsmanlike, if you ask me.”

Maybe working on an acrobatic stunt for this week's performance wasn’t the best idea that team 2 could come up with. After facing a dangerous accident the angels must make a decision. On one hand they want to be an iconic stage that is memorable but on the other hand they don’t want to risk an angels safety.

Team Two chose : remove the stunt entirely and rearrange the choreography.

Outcome: the girls remove the trick and although the performance is safer it does not dazzle the way the girls hoped it would. The members that tried to pull off the stunt only suffered minor scrapes and bruises. Everyone earns 300 bonus points for trusting one another and staying safe.

TOTAL: 300 points.

as soon as the door closed behind them, team two’s members glanced at one another.

“uh… did anyone else feel that tension?” haeju asked, a small smirk starting to tug at the corners of her lips.

baebi couldn’t help letting a short chuckle out. “did i say something, like, offensive?”

“baebi, i swear i’ve never seen mimi that irritated, she literally almost launched herself at you.” edengiggled. “so fucking funny.” baebi shrugged, taking her coffee straw in between her teeth. she did what she thought was right, if the other girls wanted to be petty, that was on them.

“you can tell we live in those bitches heads rent free.” jade smirked , shaking her mostly-ice drink up and down to match the tempo of her sentence. “and they haven’t even seen what we’re working on yet.”

chloe, who seemed idly engaged in the drama, finally spoke up. “maybe we should run through the practice one more time.”

haeju, eden, and jade went to assume their positions. baebi licked her lower lip, as if she wanted to say something, but then decided against it and assumed her position as well.

“stand by, team one!” a staff member ordered, their voice echoing from the speakers above. the girls stood together in their color-coordinated outfits. despite how put together they looked at first glance , obvious worry clouded the girls’ eyes.

“why am i nervous?” ame asked suddenly, turning to her teammates for emotional support. mimi shook her head.

“don’t be. we have been working so hard all week, and we’ve done so well in practice. if we do what we’ve been doing, then we’ll be perfect.” mimi assured her team.

“besides, don’t you wanna make team two cry?” yui teased.

ricky nodded. “nothing will feel better than slapping that cocky look off jade’s face, i promise.”

“they all could be knocked down a few pegs. they’re not ready for us.” yui chimed in.

team one chuckled quietly, all murmuring in agreement to what their teammates had said.

eden frowned, angling her head towards team one, listening in on what they were saying.

“uh, miss?” the stage crew member asked. eden’s attention snapped back to the man she was talking to, blinking a few times.

“oh, sorry. got distracted. uh, i just wanted to make sure you had the correct track, the extended version?” eden asked, fulfilling the task her leader had appointed her before she forgot. the stage crew member said a few words about everything being in place, and how they should have turned in the proper track to a staff member prior, blah, blah, blah. all eden could think about was the conversation she just overheard.

eden quickly sat herself down in the audience seats next to her teammates, itching to tell them what she discovered.

“we’ve made enemies.” eden shared in a whisper. while the camera crew made their final adjustments, eden relayed all the information she had gathered with her teammates in a brief instance . there wasn’t enough time for the girls to properly relax their faces before cameras started rolling. baebi was sure that her team looked just as pissed off as they felt. what gives the other team the right to be so catty?

team two watched their competitors' performance like vultures, looking for flaws to rip apart later in private. much to baebi’s dismay, it appeared as though the competitive air between the two groups had fueled team one’s stamina. she’d be a liar if she didn’t think team one was in good shape for the live performance. when they finished, team two gave half-hearted claps. jade didn’t even attempt to cheer on her competition, her eyes fixated on everything but the stage.

after team one received their annoyingly positive feedback, team two stepped up. as the group of girls passed team one backstage, jade made the point to collide her shoulder with ricky’s. although looking as if she has no idea what was happening , her sweet smile almost mocked ricky as she stumbled.

“what the fuck?” ricky whipped around to narrow her eyebrows quizzically. ame had a hand on ricky’s shoulder, a weak attempt at preventing any more drama from unfolding.

“what did i do?”

“what did you do?” ricky retorted her voice dripping with irritation.

“at least i’m not talking about other people 24/7. maybe you deserved it, you two-faced bitch.”

“woah!” chloe and mimi echoed at the same time. ricky took a step in jade’s direction, but ame’s grip tightened, holding the girl in her place. baebi wrapped an arm around jade’s shoulder, steering her away.

“i dare you to try that again. how about with a little more power this time huh? or better yet hit me-“ mimi ran up to ricky at those words and joined ame in holding her back.

“ come on , do it. the cameras are on, do it!” ricky’s voice raised slightly making baebi pull jade away even more. jade stood still eyes looking uninterested and bored.

“ricky you’re embarrassing yourself.” she said monotonously.

“not as confident now that the whole country is watching?” ricky rebuttaled.

“i’d beat your ass in broad daylight, but i’m not going to cause i’m not a fucking psycho like you!” jade rolled her eyes and she threw her hands up in exasperation. “stop before you ruin not only your reputation but your entire groups reputation too.”

“shut up jade you’re not any better,” yui chimed in finally having enough with jade’s holier than thou aura. “i’d say you’ve got the worst attitude here so focus on that and fucking leave ricky alone.”

the hall fell into silence at that. jade tried to say something more but baebi stopped her before it could spiral any further.

“i don’t know who they think they are,” jade shook her head as she ticked a stray hair behind her ear. “but i’m not the type to talk behind your back. i’ll tell you i don’t like you to your face. i can't say the same for ricky.”

“team one are unprofessional.” eden commented with a long sigh . “i’ve been on my fair share of survival shows, and i’ve never seen anyone act like they do. they should have carried themselves gracefully. now they just look like they’re scared of us.” she said with a slight shrug. “it’s embarrassing.”

baebi didn’t have time to worry about team one. honestly, her team couldn’t afford to have their consciences clouded and minds foggy with the stunt they’re about to pull.

adding the intricate throw that eden learnt from years of cheerleading was a last minute decision. when done correctly, it was dazzling. jade soaring through the air before landing in the arms of her teammates added an interesting twist that they knew would only add to their already showstopping performance.

however one fuck up and someone could get seriously injured. which is why baebi needed her angels on high alert.

as soon as jade was launched baebi knew how it was all going to play out. and just as she anticipated jade misstepped in chloe’s grip and came crashing down. they tried being the industry professionals they are and played it off as best as they could but they knew they were screwed. despite tension at an all time high when they finished the song, team one applauded , with little to no enthusiasm but at least they tried to take the high road.

“jade,” sunmi spoke into her microphone, eyes shining with concern. “are you okay?”

jade nodded, her expression blank, refusing to show any sign of weakness in front of team one.

“i know the competition is tight,” hoseok spoke up eyes mirroring the concern in sunmi’s. “but it is not worth the possible injury. i would strongly suggest removing that piece from your performance.”

hyuna hummed in agreement beside him “i agree. as much as it is your own routine, and you’re all professionals, i would really consider scrapping that bit. it’s not worth it”

team two nodded along with their head slightly bowed. they took their feedback as best as they could without displaying their real emotions. once they were off stage and out of the judges view, their demenor fell. the angels’ faces all slightly dissappointed and dissatisfied. chloe looked guilty as she mumbled a soft apology to jade for dropping her. jade huffed before picking up her pace to walk ahead of chloe.

“this is my fault.” chloe admits, looking torn. “i dropped jade. i was still thinking about how ricky and jade fought earlier, and i realized just how tense things have become and…” chloe sighed , pressing the palms of her hands against her brow bone. “i just wasn’t focused, i’m sorry. everything is just so intense right now i don’t know what to do. ”

“i have to cut the stunt out of the routine.” baebi clenched her jaw as she stared off screen with her tongue poking her cheek. “ this is the second time i’ve had to rearrange a performance days before.” she sighed , rubbing at her forehead in frustration. i was always uncomfortable with it during practice. i knew it would end like this . i should have spoken up then instead of wasting our practice time and putting my members at risk.” she shook her head , her disappointment as a leader was evident. “i was a bad leader this week. if i’m leader next week, i don’t want it. i’m done being responsible for others.”

“i know we need to remove the acrobatics part,” haeju licked her lower lip before taking it between her teeth. her expression wilted as she shook her head. “but i’m worried that we won’t be able to win this week without it. i know everyone is feeling really cocky and won’t admit it but team one is good, really good. they could win easily. i want to prove to team one that we are just as good as we think we are, but if we lose...” haeju sniffeled loudly as she felt her eyes duffle the well. she titled her head back as she willed away any, that was bubbling below the surface. “i’m not confident that all of us will progress to the next round.”
