hello my sweets 🤍 i plan on getting through a decent amount of writing this week since i start a new job next monday and likely my activity will drop for at least 2 weeks or so while i get myself acclimated. i also will be working longer hours which means less time to write in general. i'll probably be here mostly on weekends only after this week for the foreseeable future

people say misogyny has improved in the rpc and at large i would say sure but my god... the way some of y’all talk about your “best boy’s” canon female love interests just oozes hatred. you don’t keep that energy when the tables are turned and your male fave is actually the one acting up in the relationship. i think it’s totally fine to dislike a canon ship and choose to disregard it in your portrayal because you don’t think it serves the way you want to write your muse. although, when that choice is based on the fact that you are painting a woman as “abusive” when she maybe is, at best,  a little mean to the man in question you gotta step back and think about why you are interpreting her that way. also funny that two men can banter and you think that is cute and flirty but god forbid a woman get a bit quippy, now she is a villain! 

#surprisingly i am NOT talking about zoya today or this fandom in general but the community at large #i write so many ... some people truly... don't understand the art of reader retention and actively processing what you are reading while going through a book, especially for novels in the fantasy genre. you don't have to engage with all the lore BUT it is there to help enrich the experience and to choose not to unpack it because it is not spoonfed to you from the jump is just lazy reading dare i say

#reading is a muscle i think people forget that but being a bad reader is a thing #it is not just about simply understanding the words on the page as it is... a story being the sum of its parts and if you ignore some of it #you miss a large chunk of what you are supposed to be engaging with #yes i am actually talking about the grish.averse specifically this time like the mechanics of this universe #are very basic in the broader fantasy scope so i struggle to understand why people find it so daunting nbjtbhtb #are these the greatest books of all time NO not by any stretch but to say they are too complex to enjoy?
