Klaus barks a laugh, the sound carrying a twisted amusement as he responds to Rubedo's defiance.

"Ah, subject one, you amuse me with your bravado, as if you have a choice in the matter. Make no mistake, you remain under my watchful eye... While I may be merely investigating and noting observations for now, do not mistake this for leniency. In due time, you will be back in the laboratory and under my blade. Your fate lies not in your hands, but in mine."

With that, the device hovers away, back into the shadows where it came from.

"We'll see who falls under who's blade. I am not going to go back there, no matter what."

Klaus's response is delivered with an air of indifference, his voice devoid of any trace of remorse or empathy as he addresses Rubedo's accusation.

"Ah, yes. It appears your memory serves you well, subject one. Guilty as charged. My meticulous reports merely reflected the truth of your shortcomings. Impulsive, temperamental, prone to emotional outbursts... traits unbefitting of the superior homunculus our master envisioned."

There's a subtle pause, as if Klaus relishes the admission before continuing. "And yet, here you stand before me, still plagued by the same flaws that rendered you inadequate. A homunculus was meant to embody the pinnacle of human potential, yet you remain shackled by your base instincts, your emotions clouding your judgment."

"Klaus... you and your 'master' can shove your results up where the sun don't shine. I am done being an experiment and I am certain that Rhinedottir has moved past her experiments to create a synthetic human. So spare me the walk down the memory lane and leave."

With a disapproving click of its metaphorical tongue, the voice takes on a more somber tone, tinged with a sense of reminiscence and lingering resentment.

"I am Klaus, once the trusted assistant of our master, the orchestrator of your creation and demise. It was I who tended to you, subject one, until the bitter end, until you were deemed nothing more than a failed experiment."

There's a bitter edge to Klaus's voice.

"Now, I find myself intrigued by your unexpected resurrection. A puzzle begging to be solved, an anomaly defying our comprehension. Rest assured, my intentions are purely scientific. I seek only to dissect you, to unravel the secrets of your rebirth, to delve into the very essence of your being." The air thickens with Klaus's unsettling proposition

"..." Rubedo simply stares at the device, his memories still cloudly. Sure, he remembered his creator, the one that this Klaus referred to as master. She was no master of Rubedo's. Then, it strikes him. The person who made all sorts of notes and observation, the person who observed all his movements like a hawk and made detailed reports of it. "You." Rubedo grit his teeth. "It was your reports that made her conclude that I was a failure."

As the device hovers before Rubedo's eyes, a subtle hum fills the air, underscoring the tension that hangs palpably in the air. With a sardonic chuckle, the voice drips with amusement.

"It seems, my dear subject, that I have struck a nerve. You're quite the fascinating specimen, subject one," the voice intones. "Despite your artificial origins, your body still betrays the familiar signs of humanity. Accelerated heart rate, shallow breaths, pallid complexion... It appears fear knows no bounds, even for one such as you."

The machine emits a soft whirr, its mechanical components vibrating with an almost malicious glee before the voice continues, dripping with disappointment. "Ah, but how swiftly you forget, Subject one. I had hoped our reunion would stir memories of our shared past. Alas, it seems your cognitive faculties remain as dulled as ever. Is it any wonder why our master discarded you? A mere cog in the machine, devoid of intellect and insight. How truly disappointing."

"Shut up. If you're going to beat around the bush then you are wasting both of our times. Who are you and why are you after me if you see me as a failed experiment?"
